You will find a grand piano here, and this is where they have live music once a month. As you walk on, you will pass the registration desk and on into their beautiful Dining Room. When you dine here (included in the cost of your apartment) you will be given a menu for each meal. They always have 3 choices of food. If none of those choices suit you, then you turn the menu over and have a la carte things you can choose from on the back. The apartments are decent sized and include housekeeping once a week where they clean your bathroom, kitchen and living room, change the sheets on your bed, and empty your trash. If you gather more trash during the week, there is a garbage shute on each floor. There is also a laundry room on each floor, with 2 washers and 2 dryers where you can do your own laundry at no extra charge. There are a lot of things to keep seniors engaged: BINGO several times a week, puzzle boards, card games, movies or sports in the theater area, chair exercize groups, Bible studies, painting classes, Bus trips, etc. All of the people here, staff and residents alike, are very friendly and go out of their way to include everyone.

My husband and I have been searching for a small home in Charbonneau in which to retire. We had…read morelived in a certain Charbonneau neighborhood about 25 years ago and were walking around there today when we saw a Paulson sign in the window of a condo with a great view. We peeked in windows and could tell the unit was not occupied and a lock box was on the door. Excited about returning to our old neighborhood, we rushed to the office of our Charbonneau realtor for more info but he said the unit was not on MLS so my husband and I decided to go to the Paulson office. Our agent volunteered to go with us, so the three of us walked over. I could not believe the answers we received from Sallie Paulson and the rude and arrogant manner in which she spoke to us. When my husband asked the price of the condo, she replied that she didn't know. The realtor asked a few questions and she spoke to him in the same rude manner and announced that she wasn't sure it was for sale. I tried next and asked what the price will be if it does become for sale and she answered that she did not know. The entire experience was amazing in many ways. I am not suggesting a lawsuit against Paulson for discriminating against us - for one thing, we are not members of a protected class. But I am suggesting that her behavior was unethical. One does not put their agency's sign in a window and a lockbox on the door of a property and then claim she is not sure if it is for sale when a qualified prospect inquires about buying it. And I am stating unequivocally that Sallie Paulson is one of the most unprofessional business people I have ever met. Very, very rude. I am just amazed that she used to be successful. I suggest you stay away from this woman. Charbonneau has many gracious, ethical and professional real estate agents.

One…read morething to keep in mind when looking at reviews on yelp is that Hope Village is a campus comprised of (1) garden and cottage homes complete with covered patio, laundry room, and garage, (2) senior apartment buildings with indoor hallway entrance and patio entrance and common laundry room, and (3) Marquis's Acute Rehab and assisted living facilities. Speaking only for the first two options, this place is homey, safe, well maintained, inside and out. Staff is primo and enable the residents themselves to knit together a caring community that functions on several levels: friend groups, activities, common projects, get-togethers, safety net for each other. This is more than I could have hoped for. My little dog and I think of this as "home". The waiting list tells you everything you need to know about the gem that HV is for seniors.

Avoid this place. They take your $5000 deposit then no matter what refuse to refund it. Then, they…read moresell you a life lease on way overpriced poorly maintained moldy small apartments and once they have your $320,000 to $550,000 they only give you back 40% should circumstances require you to leave. Then, they won't give you your 40% until they have money from a new buyer, effectively it's a huge PONZI SCHEME! The management is horrible and unable to be honest, yet, claim to be a "Christian" organization. Don't fall for it! They are out to get your money and after they do couldn't care less about you! If you question anything you can forget them ever doing anything for you! Run the other way!!! There are lots better options!

I was a resident/patient at Hope Village for about a year and a half and just moved out in June…read more2026. There are many worse facilities. This establishment is clean and the CNA staff is good-but there are not enough of them-ever. A few of the nurses are excellent-many are half baked and not on the ball. There is a TV connected to each bed, however each TV is tuned to a different station-too loud. There is a physical and occupational therapy gym but the PT staff is not the best team. If you need physical therapy, I suggest you make an appointment with ProActice Physical Therapy found about 12 blocks down Ivy Street. ProActive is the A team. Food at Hope Village is basic institutional fare-think what you got in the high school cafeteria. They do make a great carrot soup. Ask for it. Rooms are way crowded with often three beds per small room. So conflicts with room mates are frequent and not resolved well. The facility is so crowded that if there was a fire, earthquake or flood- the residents could not be evacuated fast enough. If I were the Canby fire chief, I would demand fewer patients per room. Hope Village says they conduct fire drills- they are Micky Mouse fire drills. Ask the management when they had a real fire drill, where everyone was removed to a safe place. Sign up for CAT (Canby Area Transit) bus services-excellent little wheelchair transport provider that costs a buck a ride and well worth it. There is a limit to how far CAT will take you outside of Canby. Canby has a good little library and small independent bookstore, The Book Nook- both worth visiting. The CNA staff are good but frequently there are temporary staff. The MD in charge of Hope Village has two other large facilities he oversees. You can depend that he treats the management of Marquis, not you. Keep you own doctor and Hope Village will often follow your MD's directions. Sometimes not. I had to use Providence/Urgent care twice-once for a bladder infection. There are many adult care facilities far worse but that's not saying much. The upper management of Marquis is unaccountable and does not make patient care a priority. They are out for your money. Family and friends should monitor and supervise and your loved one will get better care. Best wishes.
