A Wonderful Foundation for Both of Our Daughters SpringStone Montessori has been an incredible part of our family's life for the past five years. Our oldest daughter, Skylar, attended from August 2020 to August 2023, starting in the Springs classroom for ages 3-5 before moving into Ocean and Lake for summer camp. Because of her September birthday, she missed the Clark County Kindergarten cutoff--but thankfully, SpringStone offered a Kindergarten program that became the perfect bridge year for her. We are so grateful she had the chance to grow in a familiar, nurturing environment with teachers who truly knew and supported her. The smaller class sizes and individualized attention helped Skylar build the confidence and academic skills she needed. When she transitioned to public school the following year and repeated Kindergarten at Goolsby Elementary, she walked in prepared and self-assured. That foundational year at SpringStone allowed us to focus on supporting her emotional and social growth instead of worrying about academics, and it made all the difference. I've heard SpringStone is considering adding a Pre-K program, and I can't recommend it enough. Skylar's experience was essentially a Pre-K/Kindergarten hybrid, and it gave her such a strong start. I'd love for our younger daughter, Hayden, who currently attends SpringStone, to have the same opportunity before moving into Kindergarten. The school has been such a blessing--loving teachers, a safe environment, strong structure, and the beautiful balance of Montessori-inspired learning. Their hours are perfect for working families, and the fact that they provide breakfast, lunch, and snacks daily is such a huge help. I have trusted Springstone Montessori with my two young children since they were two years old. Springstone is such a nuturing school and I have always been in awe of how calm and focused the children were throughout the day. I felt so lucky that my younger child was able to be placed with the same teacher that my older child loved, Miss Justine. I was very sad when she left and my youngest struggled a bit while a long term replacement was found. It was definitely worth the wait because Miss Morgan and Miss Makalah are absolutely incredible. I was introduced to them both as visiting teachers and heard nothing but good things from my eldest. These two teachers made such an excellent team working together in the classroom, I really felt that it was a true partnership with them . My child was unique to them and I felt that they worked to make each child in their classroom feel heard and understood. I am so thankful for for Miss Runa who taught my eldest. She joined my eldest son's classroom for his second year and when his long standing teacher moved to New York, she quickly became his favorite. Miss Runa made the transition very easy for the entire classroom and I am so grateful for her for that. My eldest was very attached to her (as he was Miss Justine in his first class) but we soon learned that it was the classroom he had been attached to all along. Miss Runa did an incredible job and was very helpful whenever we had questions. My eldest is also rambunctious and had issues staying on task but they worked with him and found solutions to keep him and the classroom peaceful. He was taught mindfulness techniques and little mantras that he still uses today. read more

My daughter went to the Lakes location as her first 'school' experience. Her teachers, Ms. Morgan and Ms. Makalah in Pond Room were absolutely phenomenal. They were very much the teachers that I would have been happy to see her taught by every year. While it is a shame the teachers cannot follow the student, even after she left their room, they would always stop and greet her in the mornings or passing in the corridors. The program hours are excellent, the food is good, and with teachers like Ms. Morgan and Ms. Makalah the quality of the education, care, and nurturing is second to none. read more

I was so nervous to send our 16 month old to school but we have had the best experience with springstone. The administration is so kind and involved, Mrs. Juliana and Mrs. Cammie are so kind and helpful And all other staff is always saying hi in the halls and talking to my daughter and making us feel welcomed. After just a few weeks my daughter asks for her friends and teachers Mrs. Elizabeth and Mrs. Kelsey and that is so special because I know she's having a good time when she's there and feels safe and comfortable. I feel so lucky to have landed here and appreciative of everything the staff, past and present, have done to support our family over the last 4 years. Two kiddos went through the full program from 2 years to 5 1/2, although we have several friends who've chosen to stay on through kindergarten plus there and have enjoyed that too. We loved this school when we started. In fact, Miss Talanda is one of the best Montessori teachers we have had the pleasure of knowing. The administrator, Miss Kristen, on the other hand... we were sorely disappointed in, and surprised she is an administrator. Our son was here for the 3/4 yr old group. His primary teacher, Miss Talanda, was amazing but we did have some problems with the assistant, Miss Anjanette, because she was not familiar with the Montessori approach, and her language was extremely poor: "I wanted to axe you a question" and "I just be going down the hall." I realize this is not something she can easily help, but it seems this would not be the best teacher for a class where children are really learning to speak. Worse, she was constantly telling our son "you don't listen." She said this to him in front of me, as well as wrote it in incident reports as what she had told him. Our son started to repeat this as though it were his personal motto. our son truly started to believe he was "not a listener." (Guess how well this was going over, both at home and at school? ) This is NOT Montessori teaching. In addition, there were several serious incidents where we should have been called to take our son to the pediatrician or even emergency room. Instead we were not called, and our son was chided and shamed for missed bathroom incidents, to the point he was bursting out in tears and apologizing profusely for days and saying Miss Anjonette had gotten mad at him. Again, this was poor training- she should know the difference between a casual bathroom accident and when a child is seriously sick. She should also know the difference between a minor injury and one that requires a parent-call and dr visit. There were several other issues as well. We took our concerns to the administrator, Kristen. We were promised Miss Anjonette would be talked to and re-trained at length. Great! We didn't want her reprimanded, and we felt she was more than capable- we simply recognized that she was in need of direction and Kristen said she had recognized that as well. A few months go by and we are still having issues, but we believed Kristen was working on things. Unfortunately things got really bad- our son was coming home saying Miss Anjonette had gotten angry with him, every. single. day. He had also started picking up her language and it was severe. We met with Kristen 2 more times, and requested our son be moved to another class. Her response was a shrug, and "Sorry, nothing I can do." I explained we would have to look for a new school, where our son wasn't learning improper English. She said to give her a week or so and she would see if another child was moving. During that week, things got weird. Our son was suddenly "in trouble" almost daily, and the administrator was often involved (we believe she was making things far worse than necessary.) When recanting one incident when my son told her "no" to wrapping up play time, she was highly animated and aggressive, waving her finger in the air as though she were a teenager reliving a girl fight... only this was my FOUR year old. "...and I told HIM, now Miss Kristen is making the decision for you!" & telling his teacher, "NO! I'm finishing this!" when she tried to step in. Kristen's behavior during this conversation, was so over-the-top appalling, there are simply no words. At one point, Kristen gave me an incident report for my son supposedly hitting another boy on the playground. I read it and noticed it had been completed by another teacher- not Miss Anjonette, who she had just told me, at length, was the actual witness. So, in other words- you felt it was acceptable to lie on the report to protect the teacher- not the child. This was completely unnecessary, and so very unethical. Also, when my husband picked up our son that day, the other little boy came over and apologized to our son for hitting him. When I said this to Kristen, she threw both arms up in the air and said "Well I don't know anything about that!" and blew me off. The final straw- during our conversations, I realized she had no memory of our initial concerns, let alone had she done any of the promised "re-training." I requested my son's file. I reviewed each report one by one. I did not see any mention of our concerns, so I emailed her and requested these. Her response was, " When we have conversations with parents we do not typically write or document anything for that matter." So in other words, she did not write anything down because she had no intention of doing anything. I will also add that her emails were quite eloquent and very focused on protecting herself. They were 100% different than face-to-face interaction with her. I cannot, in good conscious recommend this school to anyone. The standards and ethics are simply not there. read more

We loved it here! The only reason we had to move to the other location was it was closer for us. SpringStone @ the Lakes is awesome! We were in the toddler 'Tide Pool' room for about 1 1/2 years and we saw a huge difference starting day 1! Both Ms. Jodi and Ms. Adriana are patient, caring and overall amazing teachers. My son truly enjoyed attending school daily! They both had huge impacts on my son as well as my family - thank you Ms. Jodi and Ms. Adriana. It didn't just start w/ the teachers, but as soon as you walk in, you are ALWAYS pleasantly greeted by both Ms. Rochelle and Ms. Kristen. This school did not treat us just like another student/parents - they treated us like family. We loved it! This was so helpful as it was the first time we were bringing our child to a school - they made the transition for him (AND US) seamless! I would highly recommend and as others mentioned, it says something about the school when you have no worries AT ALL when you drop your child off; you KNOW your child is in good hands. Springstone Montessori in the Lakes is one of my top favorite schools in Southern Nevada. The people and the environment are welcoming. There is an expectation for teacher preparation and knowledge each educator must have. As well, I immediately felt engaged and part of the community on my first visit. I look for a school that knows its mission and lives it. At Springstone, the purpose for learning is transparent. With clear glass window walls, a person can observe the care, guidance, calmness and learning. In the expansive outdoor area, there is plenty of space and activity including trikes, sand, climbing and gardening. The food preparation is made on-site with wholesome ingredients. The school provides a place for the child to develop mentally, socially, and emotionally. In early childhood development Montessori believed, "The child's conquest of independence begins with his first introduction to life.  While he is developing, he perfects himself and overcomes every obstacle that he finds in his path.  A vital force is active within him, and this guides his efforts towards their goal.  It is a force called the 'horme', by Sir Percy Nunn."  (The Absorbent Mind, Chapter 8, p. 83). I look for a place where a child is encouraged to pursue his/her interested, develop as his/her pace and be guided by loving, knowledgeable people. read more

My little girl started at SpringStone Montessori School in Ms. Rosemary and Ms. Adriana's class right when she turned 2. The care and education she received there was nothing short of exceptional, as we watched her bloom from an extremely shy baby into the confident, intelligent and assertive little girl she had become. From my many observations, what really sets SpringStone apart from other schools is the nuture, patient reinforcements and individual learning plan that their students receive. We also appreciated our (parents') daily interactions with the teachers - this helped us immediately reinforce any teaching subject or course-correct any behavior that needed working on. Ms. Jennilee and Ms. Chang, who help manage the school have also been extremely helpful and accommodating. My daughter had since moved on to The Meadows School. SpringStone prepared my daughter well academically and emotionally up to and through the transition. Even though she is now one of the youngest children in her new class, she compares well with her peers. Our son began at SpringStone Lakes Montessori School at 18 months of age. At the time I worried he was too young to be there but I was quickly proven wrong as he developed at lightening speed! His communication skills improved remarkably fast and the staff taught me that he was capable of much more than I realized. He is now almost two and can recite his ABCs, count to 20, uses sign language, carries his own food tray, drinks freely from regular cups & even cleans up after himself. It is 100% due to the expertise and Montessori trained staff at SpringStone. Their program exposes children to many stimulating activities and subjects from math and science to music, dance and art! My child was dreading not to go previous place called learning adventure, he was also crying and running at me when I go to pick him up, he hated it and was miserable at the crowded tiny class .. what a difference in Montessori, They have two angels in my son's class, namely Mrs Micheal and Rosemary.. from the first day, my son was eager to go school, they pay attention to him one on one bases, and he is learning fast. They also spot and bring any issues to my attention in timely manner which I need to know.. Now that I see why I had to wait 7 months to enroll him because of their waiting list. Our son started at this location in March 2014. He has been in daycare since he was almost a year, so he was familiar with what was expected in a school environment to a point. However, the daycares he had previously attended were home daycares and were not so structured. In looking for a school to send him to in Las Vegas, we quickly ruled out home daycares. Many of them seemed to be child storage with no real effort towards learning. We also ruled out the larger daycares which seemed to have too many children and too few teachers. This school really seemed to strike the perfect teacher/student balance. Previous to signing up here, our family had just moved from California. Our son's whole world had just been turned upside down. We left everything he had been familiar with and he was not taking it well. When we first moved, he stayed home with me for the first three weeks - and he was miserable! He was having massive tantrums that lasted an hour at least every day if not more often. We were genuinely beginning to worry that he might have a behavioral disorder. I felt utterly helpless and frightened. My husband, having started a new job, could not help much. It became clear that he could not stay home with me and we needed to find the right environment for him. Our son is a big boy. Tall and strong...and stubborn...really really stubborn. Really. Stubborn. it was obvious that we needed to focus all of his boundless energy in a positive direction. After looking into the Montessori method, on paper, it seemed perfect. The focus was on teaching each child in the way that best suits the child. I loved the concept and after touring the campus and meeting Miss Jenilee, I felt confident that the school was the right one for our family. It was honestly the best decision I have ever made. Our son started in the Pond Room with Miss Rosemary and Miss Adrianna. I cannot say enough good things about these two. They are lovely human beings who take obvious joy and care about what they do. Apart from their awesome demeanor, they were able to focus my son and allow him to find joy in his work. After two weeks, he was unrecognizable. Drop-offs were painless and pick-ups delightful. Thanks to his teacher's open communication with me and my husband and our commitment to consistency at home, our son's tantrums all but disappeared after the first month and when he did have them, we were able to keep them to a much shorter duration. Just before his 3rd birthday we started potty training. Again, with the help of his teachers, we were able to get Oliver fully potty trained within a few weeks. Shortly after his 3rd birthday, because he was potty trained, it was time to move into a pre-school classroom. I will not deny that this made me very nervous. However, my concerns were quickly put to rest. Our son moved into the River room with Miss Norma and Miss Stacey. I was nervous at first because Miss Norma definitely demands more structure. Initially, I confused that structure with severity. That is not the case. After the first week, it became clear that Miss Norma is incomparably good at what she does. Where Oliver's attitude and energy had improved in his previous classroom, in this new classroom, his language and understanding really blossomed. Suddenly he is reciting the alphabet and recognizing numbers and colors. The excitement he expressed in the car when we passed a GREEN CAR! or a the LETTER 'C' in CVS was contagious. We could not help getting excited with him as he began identifying things in the world with things he learned in the classroom. Both Miss Norma and Miss Stacey have given Oliver a true gift in giving him the joy of learning. Lastly, I do not want to leave out the front desk and office staff. Miss Jennilee and Miss Lori are excellent at what they do. They are tactful, thoughtful, attentive and kind. On the very few occasions when I had to deal with them about concerns I had, they always made me feel that my concern was legitimate and would be taken seriously. i would recommend this school to anyone. Whether your child is outgoing or shy, the teachers and staff here will find the best way to bring out the best in your child. read more

I would like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to the teachers in the Pond Room. My daughter began school for the first time in mid-August. Prior to her start date my husband and I brought her in to introduce her to her new school and teachers. Initially I was skeptical with bringing my first child to school at such a young age. However, during our initial visit, the teacher was very attentive to us and thoroughly explained the Montessori philosophy and the daily routine in addition to answering our numerous questions. I felt very comfortable bringing my daughter to school after this visit and was impressed with the entire process. From the beginning, our experience has been absolutely wonderful in the Pond Room. Everyday we are greeted by the teachers with warm smiles and they seem genuinely happy to see us everytime we arrive. Upon picking my daughter up I receive a daily verbal report about how she did, including progress on her potty training, interactions with her classmates, and new activities she explored. My daughter absolutely loves both of the teachers and talks about them often. Initially she did not want to go to school and cried for her parents like most toddlers but now she asks to go to school on the weekend! It is obvious that the teachers are passionate about what they do and put their heart into this challenging job everyday! We love Springstone. Our son started at the Springstone Lakes location when he was 18 months old and he had the most amazing teacher. Her name is Ms. Sarita and she has become a real asset to us. She treats her students with respect and it seems like she never loses her cool. She is great with Montessori activities and is always available to communicate with us about our sons day. The 18 month old room is converting into the 2 year old room so our son gets to have her for another year. We are very happy with how mellow and calm the entire school is on a typical day. We love SpringStone Montessori in the Lakes. Our child started in SpringStone Montessori a few months after he turned 4 y/o. I was hesitant to place him in preschool but I knew he needed the experience of being around children his age. Especially he would be starting kindergarten as a late 5 y/o. I especially wanted his first experience of school to be a positive one. I didn't necessarily want a preschool that enforced academics so much as I wanted a place that was nurturing, loving, and caring. I wanted a school that he could learn, explore, and create. That's exactly what SpringStone provided for our son. First the staff is very nice and friendly. Everyday that we dropped him off and picked him up we always were greeted with a smile and a warm welcome. Secondly, his teachers never hesitated to give us an update on his progress and how we can help him at home. They also reported every minute injury from a scratch to a bump which in the end we truly appreciated. I felt that he was in a safe place which is so important. The school provided nutritious meals for breakfast and lunch. This was one less chore I had to worry about. For the summer the school had water day on Wednesdays which our child loved. They had field trips such as going to Gilcrease Orchard which I thought was such a fun idea. Our son always came home with projects and I would receive pictures online of his various activities such as learning about plants, different countries/cultures, or learning yoga. The proof also was how much our child enjoyed school and always asked if he had school the next day. He is also very independent and likes being the helper. I know he learned this from school and I'm grateful to SpringStone for all the great things my son has learned in the 18 months his been there. I would recommend SpringStone Montessori to everyone. I started my preschooler there 4 months ago, because it really matches his learning style to have a choice and hands on lesrning. I also didnt want him at the school he was at anymore as the affiliation with a religion different than ours as he began to understand such things was no longer no big deal. He has made such great academic and social progress. Then, after seeing how the 2 year old program runs when dropping him off and picking him up, I gave it another look. The teacher provides additional toys and activities to the outdoor area to supplement the smaller outdoor area, which I didnt realize when touring. Also, some of the younger 2s seem to need the safety of a smaller space. Therefore, i have to revise my stsrs and review. So, I moved my 2 year old over a month ago and she loves it. The environment is so nurturing and gentle with developmentally appropriate structure. The kids also love the family style meals. I love this school, the employees and the montessori principals so much. I hope to keep my four year old here even when he is eligible for public school next year as they have a ccsd recognized kindergarten and classes up through 3rd grade. My kids are happy and learning so much. Im happy too, thanks to the constant communication. read more

Our two kids attended Springstone for five years, from the time they were 18 months through Pre-K and 1st grade. (If there were Montessori options for beyond 3rd grade, we would have stayed at this school!) Our first Springstone family was at the location near Rainbow and Warm Springs, then we graduated to the Lakes location when the kids were a bit older. It's tough to leave your child in the care of another while you go off to work - I am forever grateful to have had such wonderful, caring, committed staff at Springstone taking care of my littles. From the Directors, to the teachers, to the front office staff, to the chefs, they are a wonderful group of people that were full of sunny smiles, great attitudes, and loving hearts. As a working mom, there's nothing more reassuring than being able to share a strong partnership with the folks that are caring for and teaching your kids - we got this and more from our second family at Springstone. The teachers, the methods, and the wonderful environment they create for the kids played a large part in helping my children grow into the positive, independent, thoughtful, compassionate and caring little people they are. I can't say enough about the school - from the food that comes from the kitchen, the gardens and toys in the playgrounds, the fun activities and field trips, to the smiles that greet you when you come through the doors each morning, it's clear that they're committed to the students and their families.
