My daughter started March 24, 2025 and her last day was June 10, 2025. So even though our time at the center was short, here's my review; I registered our 2.5 year old daughter at the Creative Kids Lakes locate in early March 2025. From the day I signed her up to the day she actually had her first day, there was roughly three weeks in between. On her first day, I go to drop her off to be told that my daughter wasn't fully put into the system yet. The woman (who was not the director, Yazmin Valdez) was very helpful and apologetic during that first morning. When I picked our daughter up later that first day, I was then provided all the first day paperwork from Yazmin yet was not given an explanation why she wasn't fully put into the system, even though I had registered her three weeks earlier. Not at all the first impression I wanted, but didn't make fuss about it. Miss Rena was my daughter's main teacher to start with but unfortunately for us she moved out of state (hope she's loving TX and doing well). Then my daughter's room got seasoned teacher Mrs. Jen. My daughter seemed to really like Mrs. Jen as did I. However, Mrs. Jen wasn't able to constantly the main teacher in my daughter's room all the time. With my daughter only going to days a week, I unfortunately wasn't able to get a real read on who were her new permanent teacher(s). On Tuesday of this week (June 10th) I dropped my daughter off just after 8:15 am and then picked her up just after 3:30 pm. Around 5:30 pm I placed my daughter in the bathtub to find bruise/markings on her (right were her back end and your butt begins) Upon seeing the bruise/markings, I immediately made my phone call to the center to speak with Yazmin. We understand that there is no way all the children in care can be watched every second of every minute they are there. We understand children fall all the time, especially on a water day. We understand children push each other. We understand children get hurt. But what my husband and I can't understand nor comprehend is how no staff member saw the bruise/markings in the 7 hours she was there. We understand that her classroom had an hour of water play from 9:30 am to 10:30 am and therefore the bruise/marking most likely happened then. Of course we would have liked to have been told by a staff member that they saw what happened. However, we understand the likelihood of the incident being seen is difficult given how many children are in her classroom. But again, how did no staff member see the bruise/markings at some point during her time there today? Based on the bruise/markings we think our daughter had to have cried or said she had a " boo-boo". Shouldn't a staff member have seen it and asked themselves "did this happen here or at home?" and then reach out to us? Shouldn't we have been informed something happened and now she has a bruise/markings? When a staff member changed her from her swimsuit to her clothes, shouldn't it have been seen? When changing her diaper, shouldn't it have been seen? If she was going potty on the toilet, how did no staff member see it? Do staff member place a child on the potty and then put a diaper back on them in the potty room instead of moving them to the changing table? We had already informed the center what our daughter's last day would be Tuesday, July 1st we have a long vacation in July and then our daughter is starting at Faith Lutheran in August. However, given the frustration, concern and honestly anger of the lack of any kind of a heads up lead us to the decision to go ahead and have our daughter's last day be that day, June 10, 2025. Since sending our email to Yazmin the night of the 10th, we have not been reached out to by anyone. Yesterday, mid morning my husband called the center to ask if my email had been received to which Yazmin did say she had gotten my email and was handling it. However, it seems extremely ridiculous that my husband had to be the one to reach out to be told that our email was received instead of Yazmin simply just replying to my email on the first place. So even though our overall our experience with this center was positive, we now are leaving this center behind us with a negative experience. Follow up as of 6/13: the customer service representative, Allison, would I spoke with twice now has been wonderful! As well as the district manager (can't remember her name) who I have spoken with a few times now has also been wonderful! We have all agreed that this situation would have been nothing had someone said something and communicate was clear & direct. It's unfortunate that it was our daughter, but hopefully something like this situation doesn't happen again. read more

I will be giving 5 stars for the awesome teachers this school has. Excluding the HORRIBLE DIRECTOR. so glad i pulled my children away from this school. This director Yazmin does not know how to run a school. Every morning I would drop off my children the classes would be filled with only 1 teacher to 20 plus kids. Teachers seemed overwhelmed. Hope Ms.Alexiis, Ms.Jenn, Mr.Ronnie and Mrs.Tierra are doing well and move on from this place. I still remember my son crying to me in the car ride from home because Ms.Yvonnee made him cry in front of his class. I've always heard her yelling at the kids in the mornings going down the hallway. We have always expressed our concerns about Ms.Yvonne and how she talks to the children like they are at boot camp. Nothing was ever done about it, we asked to switch out of her classes and they told me no because it was no space. Everyday my son came home hungry, we'd ask him what he ate for lunch. He'd say pineapples and tortillas. We were charged for curriculum and we never seen it, me and my husband would ask our son about it all the time and he couldn't tell us anything. I don't actually think they have curriculum. Always got pictures of my child on the playground all morning. Nothing to ever show from the education. When we expressed our concern about that it was always, "I'll have to get back to you". We never got an answer on any of it. Sometimes walking in it felt like Yazmin just didn't care about anything. She never seemed to know what's going on! She talked to her staff like they were little children, she never made me feel comfortable as a parent. If Yazmin is the director I would not recommend this place for your child. I hope this helps save this school and the awesome teachers in there! read more

I started an infant and 4yr old here about 6months ago they are currently enrolled and an ASD 6yr old child for about a week or 2 in the summer. First thing I would like to say that this school is always very clean and organized which I appreciate. The staff is friendly they greet you every morning. It appears they may vet their teachers well because for the most part they are all very sweet and caring with the exception of a few interesting personalities taking tones with the kids I personally don't like but nothing crazy. I especially would like to shout out a few teachers along the way Ms Yvonne who took care my Oldest daughter over the summer who had a difficult time transitioning. I even seen her get emotional when my daughter left for Elementary which really touched my heart she Has a lot of patience, she's sweet and she definitely has good control over her class. Mr Ronnie who is no longer there very nice fun teacher my 4yr old still asks about him and says that's her favorite teacher. However, Ms Cassandra and Ms Angel who are usually in my 1yr olds infant class room I absolutely love them they adore their babies. I can genuinely feel the love they have for all my children. At drop off my kids will run to hug them. They are always so sweet, and gentle they never seem to be overwhelmed or aggravated. I have never heard them raise their voices at the children, it's always love and for that I am so grateful for them. My baby will be moving up and will now be in their classroom much longer but just knowing they have teachers like these here makes me very happy and comfortable. I give this place a 4 star because some things are a little inconvenient such as the starting process for my daughter with ASD it was a long process that wasn't explained the best that caused some inconveniences. Kids get shuffled throughout classes I assume due to staffing at the end of the day and you'll have to go to one side to get your kids belongings and another to actually get your child, that's a headache but not the biggest deal although, things have gotten lost this way. My biggest issue here which is a huge deal and I am actually contemplating finding a new daycare for this issue alone is the food that is offered here. I have never in my 6 yrs of being a mother seen a daycare or any school that doesn't allow packed lunches for children. We are told because multiple children qualify for the assisted food program they make all the kids eat the same things. My Oldest daughter has a picky diet due to her ASD they literally would rather my kid to starve over making another jealous which to me I found insane. I almost get emotional seeing the food that is offered to my 4yr old A slice of cheese , hummus, A tortilla shell, and apricots. It's never a real meal that children would even find appetizing. Every day I pick up my daughter she is starving and she says she doesn't like the food. Now that my 1yr old is moving up I am worried that with these food options my girls's health will suffer over time being that they are there for 8hours not really eating much but scraps. Other than that I do speak highly of this school on the professionalism, overall care and cleanliness. If the food thing was changed Omg I wouldn't have anything bad to say it would be the best daycare in town by far. I appreciate what everyone does there to keep this place together. read more

First week was a success for my son. The staff from the front to my sons teacher they are all so sweet and I absolutely love how things are taken care of and handled. My son is happy with school. From the cleanliness of the classrooms, to the care and patience the staff has with the kids, to the way the kids respond to their teachers it's just so so impressive and comforting! They have live video access anytime your child when/ as they are checked in, VIA app that needs a special code to get once your child is registered.the teacher sends me updates as detailed as when my son goes down for his nap to when he is awake... what he eats and if he ate it all of not... overall I'm very happy with the care my child is in he is in very good hands and I believe that . I want to take a moment to shed a positive light on Creative Kids Learning Center at (The Lakes). When it comes to choosing a daycare/preschool for your child, look no further, the staff at this center consistently provided a warm, positive, and friendly atmosphere for my daughter. Safety is essential when choosing a provider and Creative Kids made me feel comfortable and I never doubted that my child was unsafe. They also have an excellent cleaning system. My daughter used to constantly get sick at her previous school, but from the moment she started at Creative Kids, she rarely got sick. The price is okay for the quality, however if you are on a budget, they will work with you and provide options to assist you with your needs. The curriculum is developmentally appropriate and the security system is safe. The only issue I noticed was that the staff had a high turnover rate. Ms. Marion was an amazing teacher and so was rest of staff at the school. I wholeheartedly recommend Creative Kids Learning Center at (The Lakes) read more

We took my son here for Preschool today with Ms. Monique, it was his first time in a school setting. He cried a lot throughout the day, I knew it would be like this as a transition but what infuriates me is the fact that not a single moment did I see his teacher engage, interact, or comfort him. My son would be crying in the corner and the teacher would be sitting down comfortably in the chair. There were multiple other adults who visited the class who engaged with him at eye level and tried to comfort him but never his teacher. There was also an incident during nap time between the teacher and my son which made the "Supervisors" need to look at it on camera. The anxiety and uneasiness that both my husband and I felt watching on via cameras, imagine what happens when not on camera or in the blindspots? His first day was today and also is last as we withdrew him immediately. The director, Yazmin, refused to give us a refund of the Fees we paid. Considering the negative experience, I would think its valid to expect a refund but we only got a "courtesy" waive of the 2 week withdrawal notice. Wow, thanks. read more

My son has been going to creative kids on Fort Apache for the last two years and it is absolutely wonderful. They have really helped me make sure that my son is becoming a good responsible young man. My 2 little ones go here and although they have only been here a couple months, they have acclimated well. The prices are reasonable and the only downfall is that they do not provide lunch, but in all honesty, I like making my kids lunches. They do provide snacks in the morning and afternoon. The teachers are firm but loving. My son's teacher is Miss Naira and Miss Roseanna and they have relief teachers that are just as sweet. My daughters teacher is Miss Patricia and her morning teachers are wonderful as well. Nichelle and Mandy are also great with the kids, they help out eachother and in turn it teaches the kids kindness and encourages them to be helpful. Kids are being taught to express themselves and the teachers handle the children very well. My daughter is transported to and from her school and we haven't had any problems. This location lacks communication and do not have any kind of structure. I picked up my two year old on Friday evening and as I'm picking her up the first thing I notice is a black eye on left eye.....WHEN I ASKED WHY WAS I NOT CALL OR WHY DIDNT ANYONE KNOW WHAT HAPPEN TO MY BABY???? They said they didn't notice till after she woke up from nap time.... they also said she never cried or she never made them notice her to see the was like that...... so I'm like either somebody wasn't paying attention to my baby while she got hurt or some little kid hit her, but either way this day care keeps making numerous amount of mistakes and I think for this only being my daughter's day....... My son (22 months at the time)started going to the Ford Apache location a few months back. And he had really hard time separating from me and had daily meltdowns. His caregiver Miss Cassandra never gave up,she showered him with all the attention and love that he needed, and the some more. She's absolutely amazing, all the kids love her which tells you everything you need to know. My son didn't say much prior to starting at Creative Kids, now he talks ALL the time, knows his colors, letters, shapes and numbers. All the staff is super friendly and accommodating. Shannon is another teacher who would go the extra mile for parents and kids,super sweet and cares for all the kids with so much love. They have open communication and open door policy,also update you through out the day on their app with pictures and details of how your little one is doing.Highly recommend! read more

Absolutely wonderful My Son has been attending Creative Kids on Sahara for a little more then 6 months now. They assisted in his potty training and he caught on right away. He also is a little bit quirky in his personality, but the teachers and staff have been so wonderful helping him adjust to life at pre-school. The facility is incredibly well maintained, and all the staff is "Clean" As in they do not look like High School or College kids who are punching the time clock working because they have too. Also since My son attends part time they have been INCREDIBLY flexible with the days that I bring him. So many part time child care programs will not let you stray from your scheduled days. Also, he takes extended stays to his grandmothers across the country, and they do not penalize me for him being gone sometimes a month at a time. My daughter recently went here for summer camp, since she hates being bored and she's always a busy body, I decided to give Creative Kids a chance. I checked out their website and e-mailed the director to see if I can take a tour of the school. She was very helpful because she asked which location I would like my daughter to attend and she answered all my questions. A lot of parents are very skeptical about picking the right child care, of course you want your kid/ kids to be safe (they are our pride and joy). I checked out other daycare centers before making my decision, since this one seemed to be the only one like an actual school (the set-up), my daughter and I decided that this would be the right place. For kids ages 6-12, during the summer they have several activities to keep the kids busy. My daughter enjoyed going on the field trips. They take the kids bowling, swimming, Burger King (to get some ice cream), Anderson Dairy, and many more exciting places. Tips on what to look for the right daycare for your child: -Clean (make sure the toys are not scattered, disinfect everything, check if the bathrooms are clean, classrooms) -Friendly Staff -Take a tour with your child, make sure they feel comfortable -Security (make sure no one can just take your child) -Activities they offer -Make sure to ask lots of questions *I highly suggest checking more then one daycare/ preschool center so you can compare and make your final decision. read more

Due to many issues at this school my child only lasted 1 week before we pulled her out. On day 1 I came to pick the child up and when I went to the classroom to pick her up, the 2 teachers said they didn't know where she was. I found her in the 1 year old class (she's 2) and was told that kids get consolidated late in the day sometimes. The next morning when I dropped her off I asked if they knew what time she was put into the 1 year old class and they said 10:00am. The director called me and said she'd investigate so I told her that we'd give them another chance. Day 2 I picked her up and the teacher said she had just changed her diaper. Got baby home and saw that there were poop streaks all over her front and back - very unhealthy for a baby girl. I called the school to tell them and they said they would make sure that everyone was trained. Day 3 baby saw the school when we pulled up and started whimpering... didn't want to go in. She went in crying and the teachers just stood there... no one came to console her or make her feel welcome. By Thursday I had found a new day care but wanted to finish out the week with Creative Kids since I had already paid. They finally started sending Brightwheel updates and I saw in one of the photos that she wasn't sleeping with the blanket and crib sheet that I had provided. On Friday when I dropped her off, I told them it was her last day and asked that they have her things ready when we picked her up. Picked her up on Friday and they couldn't find her blanket, sheet, spare clothing that was supposed to be in her box. Turned out they never made her a box. Most of her clothes were strewn about different places and blanket/sheet were stuffed in a corner on the floor. Coincidentally that day I had an encounter with the woman who drives the bus to take the older kids to/from school and saw that she was an unsafe road rage driver. The issue appears to be laziness on behalf of the teachers and they are very inexperienced with children. Baby is now day 3 at a different day care and she loves arriving at this place she is so welcomed. I would not recommend this Creative Kids location to anyone. Pay a little more elsewhere so that you don't have to worry about your child's safety while at day care. read more

We started with Creative Kids back in 2013. The director at that time was a wonderful person who in my opinion ran a great business. The director though left to go to California. They brought a new director to replace the old, and it didn't take long for the effects of her mismanagement and narcissistic attitude to take over. It only took her about 3 months to run off nearly all the staff, which they replaced with people who were inexperienced and had no ability to control a classroom. On top of that, the senior management seemed so clueless when this was brought to their attention and defended the new director. Much of the great staff that were at this location left to go to the new Children's Learning Adventure on Durango, so that is where we decided to take our child. I don't recommend this place to anyone. They are less expensive than other places around, but you get what you pay for. read more

I was beyond thrilled to learn a new director Miss Shaute was taking over. The change was visibly apparent and she was very proud of herself for "cleaning house". I wasn't too thrilled that the staff and teachers we're let go, if we had a heads up maybe it would've been an easier transition for my preschooler. Understanding that with all the changes there is going to be misunderstandings and rules that were unenforced may need clarifying but Shaute was rude, no parent director rapport and she rarely turned her head up from her desk when parents walk in. I brought some of my concerns to her and all she could say is I hope you don't take it personal. I pulled my child out, if you can't respond back to my hellos or good days why would I ever want to leave my child in your care. I also personally witnessed a child throw up on himself and the Russian teacher yelled at the boy to stop crying about it. She was so angry he threw up, I felt bad for the child and wish I could have met the mother. Moral if the story their cheap tuition is NOT WORTH IT. My child has learned more in the couple weeks at KinderCare than 2 years at Creative Kids. Fork over the money for quality care, it is our future we send off daily. read more

this is the worst place to take your children, do not leave your children here!!!! i have an open police investigation for battery /child abuse. my 3 year old son was scared and in tears when i was going to leave him in his class on 4/10/18 morning, and when i asked "if he was scared of his teacher?" (because he kept staring at her) his response was "yes" and "she hit me" i reported it to the school and called the police, it seems that they are more worried about the teacher and their asses that they did not let the police speak to the teacher until they realized that they werent supposed to keep an officer from questioning a child abuse situation. i will not let this woman get away with this and what she has done to my beautiful 3 year old son! do not leave your children there, us as parents need to protect them from teachers like this and the companies that protect teachers like this. read more

DO NOT TAKE YOUR KID THERE!!! Our four years old son went there for three weeks. Last week another kid kicked him and our son hit he's had and this Monday he came home with bite marks on his arm and back. Neither last week or this Monday anybody from the school bothered to give us a call or tell us about it when we picked him up.He have told us when he came home. They had to put ice on it and he was crying. When I went to the school that afternoon I asked them about it and I got my son out of there right away. On the same day they have deducted the next two weeks from my bank account and they told me I have to wait 4-6 weeks to get it back. I will report this everywhere I can. They are unprofessional,you can tell by just going in to the classroom in the morning when you say good morning and the teacher don't looks at you. My family has been with Creative Kids for about 15 months now and we are really happy. My son is 5 and he is blossoming. He always talked positively about the teachers and made lots of friends. Ms.Tonya expands kid's verbal and nonverbal enthusiasm for learning new things, including reading and writing and encourages them to work as a team and to try and finish new things. At the end of the day my son feels satisfied and proud of what he accomplished. Ms. Karen knows that kids have different temperaments so she is patient, calming, loving and compassionate all at once. She really cares about the kids and sometimes she act silly to get the kids laughing or bring some shy kids out of their shells. I am very happy with all the staff, everyone in the office is very polite, helpful and ready to work with you to select the attendant schedule that will best fit your needs. The playground is very nice, safe and one thing I really like - it is divided to few smaller playgrounds suitable for the kids in the same age. I wish they cook lunch for the children, but I understand there are many kids with different allergies so it's hard to satisfy their specific needs. Tony will go to kindergarten this autumn and I feel relaxed that he will start school prepared, confident of his knowledge and showing good manners and discipline. read more

Our son has been attending Creative Kids on Ft. Apache for about 7 months and he really enjoys it. He is two years old and is learning so much while he is there. I was very impressed when he came home knowing his colors in sign language. The staff is always very friendly and he loves his teacher Miss Brenda. I feel comfortable leaving him here. The tuition is very affordable and they work really well with my work schedule which changes on occasion. I would definitely recommend Creative Kids to other families! read more

My 5 1/2 year old went to The Lakes Creative Kids for 2 1/2 years before going on to one of the best private schools in the Valley. She was evaluated before starting kindergarten and was put into the higher level group. She's doing very well in her new school because of the experiences that she had at CK. My 3 1/2 year old is currently going to CK and enjoys it very much. She just moved up to the next year class, since she is doing so well. The staff and teachers at CK are caring and professional. It's obvious that they take their jobs seriously and I very much appreciate all that they have done to see my girls, and all of the other kids, succeed. Highly recommended. read more

Since then my now school age kids choose to go there on break and summer vacation. It feels good to know my kids choose to go there after all these years. When your child is called a peanut butter a''hole from a staff member than you know all the smiles are not real. Some of the staff is very inexperienced with how to handle the diverse situations that can occur with kids. My 4 year old who never been to a day care before attended the facility on Ft Apache. Now he can be stubborn at times and I acknowledged that and told them that he had never been to a day care before. When he got fussy(as kids do) and didn't want to take a nap one day. I was told by a staff member that he didn't want to take a nap and was jumping around. I was accused of his behavior being the result of some kind of psychological issue like perhaps a split personality or he is being around someone at home that is mistreating him or exposing him to the wrong things. I'm thinking.... what? Really? Because he didn't want to take a nap? If every child who acts up has a split personality or is being abused, than we'd have a lot of people with split personalities running around. Get real. My son was called a "peanut butter a''hole" from one of the staff members. His father and I had to google the term to get an understanding of what it meant. My son was very upset. I mean really a staff member calling a child a homosexual derogatory term. Really ? Be careful of what your child experiences when you leave them, ask them questions and get to know the full names of the staff because you can take your child out of a facility, but that particular staff member can end up working anywhere in the future. read more

I have been with Creative Kids for about a year now and I just want to tell everyone how impressed I've been with their staff. Very friendly and approachable. Everyone seems to know my kid by name and I feel very confortable with their help and supervision while I am at work. This school is not over crowded. The teachers are always interacting with the class, dancing, singing, and the kids really enjoy it here. Creative kids on fort apache rd watched my girls from 2009-2013. They both had the best experience and loved every teacher they had. We loved the dance recitals they participated in and the awesome preschool graduation they put together for the kids. My third daughter started at Creative kids Jan 2015. I have to say it was so comforting to see a lot of the same teachers still there and they remembered me and my girls. Everyone takes the extra time to ensure your kids are happy and that you're happy as well. You can ask questions at any time. They are very much a family oriented school. They're accredited too. Great school curriculum they put together for the kids. They offer pick up/drop off to school within their designated area. I've never encountered any issues with CK in all the years my kids attended. Great place and wonderful staff. read more
