Elderly man working the counter. I have a basic knowledge of irrigation but he treated me like I knew nothing. He was quick to tell me to go make a plan and try and push me out the door. I tried to ask questions and he gave basic (discouraging) answers, as if there's only one way to do anything in drip system stuff. I bet his attitude towards customers and irrigation has discouraged a lot of people over the years. I will not be going back to that location but have heard good things about the others. read more

We are about to go on a trip, and needed to make an irrigation system so our trees don't die. I showed up with only a little youtube knowledge, and a bunch of kids in tow. They were super helpful, carefully explaining to me how to put the system together, had very good prices, and were so nice to my kids too. As we left the store, armed with what we needed, my kids said how much they liked this store (and my kids usually hate being dragged along on shopping trips). The atmosphere is very friendly and their prices are very good, and they are extremely knowledgeable and helpful, and spent a lot of time explaining everything to me to help me with the project. read more

You can always go to the major places like Home Depot, Lowe's, or Ace but if your looking for the right items and are handy with doing this by yourself, then Sprinkler World and the staff members can quickly get you situated with all the right equipment. I do prefer to support small businesses and when you have a staff that is knowledgeable and willing to help, it makes a world of difference. I had to come in to replace sprinkler heads and was feed up with the ones that the major chains carry. At the same time I learned the right way to ins tall and they had all the accessories (risers, drip lines, etc...) to compliment what I was looking to do with the yard. Given that I was doing the work and I decided to address the valves and solenoids as part of my preventive maintenance. Most of the hardware is pretty inexpensive so you can stock up to have extras on hand in case someone with a lawnmower, dogs or kids somehow jack one up. Over the years this place has been a gem!! This week I noticed one of my yard sprinklers was leaking,causing a huge puddle on my patio,and was leaving a lot of standing H20. As I started digging out around the sprinkler,I decided to look up you tube university for hints. I decided to replace the whole unit. Upon arrival at Sprinkler world,I was taken thru PHD level learning. The part was $3.50 to replace,however the time and hints as well as quality materials was solid gold!! And that is why I return here whenever I have any need for irrigation,valves,sprinkler heads(custom or otherwise or just the right information. Went to Sprinkler world because a worker at Home Depot recommended I go there for the parts I needed to repair my system. Went up to the counter last Saturday and politely greeted the gentleman behind the counter, who answered, "what do you need?" No hello or pleasant greeting. I told him what I needed and he walked away to the back room without saying a word and brought back the parts. I asked several questions and all his answers were sarcastic, rude, and uncalled for. I felt insulted instead of being treated as a customer. I went back today for an additional purchase of the same item and told the same gentleman I was back to purchase another one identical to the one he sold me last weekend. I showed him the picture and he said I don't remember selling you that. I said it was only 5 days before... his response was, "do you think you are the only one I waited on?" How rude!! I will never again go that store for any parts. The name on the sales slip is "Writer RALPJ2" and Salesperson HOUSE. The gentleman is an older, obese man with a shabby beard. I decided to go to the pros to get a professional sprinkler timer to replace the cheapo home store unit. They greeted me as I walked in and asked what I was looking for. They then suggested the unit one I came to look at and gave me a price cheaper than I saw online. I was in and out in minutes with exactly what I wanted. They're great and I'm bummed I didn't go there for my last round of sprinkler supplies. They'll be my go to from now on! read more

These chuckleheads said that they could get a part from their PHX location and that they had 2 of them in stock and it would be on the truck the next day. No call back. I called and they say sorry, not available. Neither one of them appeared to really want to work either. read more

The Sprinkler World businesses are in several places around the Valley. I have been doing DIY sprinkler repairs and winter lawn (perennial rye) for the last 15 years. You're greeted upon entering the store, and receive personalized service from very knowledgeable staff. The prices BEAT ALL the big box hardware stores. Today Gus helped me with the problem I was having with my system, and even showed me a tool ($5.47) that would save me time in the repair. Another staff member (Kevin) who was at the Mesa store today, even recognized me from the Glendale store where I used to get supplies. I've been going to Home Depot and Ewing irrigation for years to help with irrigation repair and upgrades. For tough problems there is zero help at Home Depot and parts are limited. Ewing, although knowledgeable staff and quality quality parts, is for pros. Had really tough repair to a 3/4 polyline, went to sprinkler world and they helped me problem solve, identify parts, and for less seven dollars had my problem fixed. I checked out their pricing on other items I get from time to time and they are very competitive. Although a few more miles, I now have a go to for all my irrigation and sprinkler needs. I started with Sprinkler World in 1996 with my first home and got all my parts from there. It was a long time ago. Now we've come back in our 2nd home. I just remember back then I got great service and parts, so we're back. They carry quality parts and are a no frills store. In fact, the store probably looks similar to what it did over 20 years ago. It's not your fancy, schmancy irrigation store. They seem to be always busy whenever I show up, whether on a week day or a weekend, no matter what time of day, which I've been in at opening, lunch, near closing, and in between those hours. There are always customers. The 2 people I've dealt with the most are Abdon & Kelly. Abdon is friendly and courteous. Kelly seems pretty serious and is all business. The customer service flow is as efficient as it can be, with them sometimes having one person up to 4 people that I've seen. They seem very knowledgeable, which is why they've been in business for, I believe, over 40 yrs. If you don't have to call them, don't. They do answer the phone rather quickly, but you can be on hold for a very long time. I guess they get distracted with all their customers and forget they answered the phone and placed you on hold. That is the only bad thing. Thankfully I'm within 10-15 minutes of there and can just drop by to get what I need or ask them. My husband wasn't too impressed with customer service, as we came in on a Saturday near closing time and there was a line of customers through the door. He would have preferred friendlier service, but I'm fine with it. It's a no frills store and I'm never upsold on things. Just tell them what you need or they will help you determine what you need. We are in the process of creating a somewhat elaborate irrigation system for our many bonsai trees, succulents, trees, shrubs and other plants and they are helpful in helping me figure out all the parts I need for this. If you're looking for schmoozing type service, this is not the place. They are there to help you with your irrigation/misting needs without being salesmany. read more

I've been back and forth several times, usually on weekends, to Sprinkler World in the process of reseeding my winter lawn with rye. Generally the guys have been fairly helpful, but not on this occasion. I needed to pick up another bag of rye seed, which would have been a five-minute purchase, and I know they close at 5 pm, which might be fine for landscapers but isn't exactly the most convenient for those of us who work. I left work early and drove 20 minutes out of my way in rush hour traffic to arrive at 5:03 pm. The sign was still flipped to OPEN, but the door was locked and though there were three guys behind the counter, they refused to let me in. One guy even rudely flashed "five" to indicate that they close at five. It was 5:03 for crying out loud. So you guys know there is a Home Depot just up the street on Country club with hours that are convenient for both landscapers and homeowners, right? This customer is no longer going out of her way to go to Sprinkler World when there are so many other options out there. Just not worth it. read more

I went to this location to buy a replacement control system. The man at the desk told me that some of the solder connections tend to open up in hot weather. He told me where to check and if I was handy with a soldering iron it could be fixed. They saved me $125 and proved to me a business with integrity and concern for their customers. It would have been easy to just sell me a new unit. I highly recommended this Sprinkler World location, they know what they are doing. read more

My backyard zone valve was leaking water. After watching several YouTube videos I decided that I need to replace the diaphragm valve. I went to Sprinkler World to purchase a new part. The guy behind the counter was wearing a black t-shirt with a picture of a machine gun on it that said Gun Toting Trump supporter. I don't care what your political views are. That is private. This is not the proper attire for a public business. They didn't have the parts required to fix my valve anyway so I left. I went to Home Depot and bought a brand new valve. read more

Have shopped here many times, and thought their prices were pretty responsible, but apparently not anymore. Prices are very high, compared to HomeDepot or even the manufacturers website. Not just a little higher, but like 46% more on one of the parts purchased. Also, unlike HomeDepot, they have a 25% handling and restocking charge on returned items...even if unopened. My favorite place to go when I need quality parts for my yard lighting and anything to do with my watering system. Bought all my yard lighting there and water system. Went in this last September because I needed a new user friendly Timer system. Went to counter and told him what I wanted and he took me over showed me the user friendly one and showed me how to set it up and I was thrilled. The price was excellent. In fact had I'd know it was that good of a price I'd bought one 3 years sooner. He asked if I had someone to install it for me and of course I didn't so he gave me a guys card and said he's who you need. He's a good guy and reasonable and he was. I wanted something a little better than what Home Depot carried so I gave these guys a try. Not only did they set me up with better quality, the prices were better than I expected. I ended up out the door below budget and with all the things I would have forgotten if I tried to do it myself. Just the time saved from running back and forth was a huge help. They talked me through my project, gave me options, and pulled all the parts and helped me load up. June 13, 2016 Irritrol sprinkler controller RD600-EXT-R Ser# 249091 Date in service 11/26/2012 Turns out it has had a bad solder joint, probably since new, which has led to intermittent operation and station failure(s). Called Irritrol service at 800-634-8873 who forwarded me to Irrotrol repair at 800-899-2058. They, in turn, referred me to: Sprinkler World of Arizona 3164 S. Country Club Drive, Mesa 480-892-5001 Connected with Kelly who ended up swapping out the mother board. Great result! read more

We took our 15 station timer to Sprinkler World expecting to buy a new one. The gentleman who helped us tried to diagnose the problem first. He told us to try a couple of things first before we purchased a new one. He went into detail and gave us encouragement to try to fix it. We took his advice and saved ourselves about $ 300. The worst customer service I have ever experienced... And what is sad is they came highly recommended! Last Friday I arrived at exactly 12pm, drove from Apache Junction not realizing that they closed at noon... Upon attempting to enter, the door was locked, and the sign said closed, there was a gentleman who stood at the door and for NO reason would answer it. He shook his head at me through the glass shaking his head saying "we're closed"... Without any attempt to even see if he could help me he walked away and ignored me. I saw they had one more customer finishing up so with one last attempt I hung out so whomever walked him out would just tell me of another option to get this part for my sprinkler system... When one of the workers walked out the customer he opens the door, pulling the door closed on my face saying, "we're closed , we're closed I cant help you..." Really? Now it was 12:07pm ... They must have been in a hurry and had no time to answer a question, and there were three guys, in there and not one had the time for me. Totally disgusted with the customer service and I am certain the owner has no clue... As a business owner I would be irate to learn that one of my employees treated someone with no respect. read more
