Issue: Incredibly rude cashier Cashier: Baron Time: 6/21/26 at 2:57 PM. As I was paying for my groceries, Baron (gentleman with a rose tattoo on his ear) accused me of throwing my grocery bags in the bagging area. He asked me, "Would you like me to bag your groceries?" To which I said, "Yes please". He then said "Okay, well you threw your bags. Don't throw your bags if you want us to bag them because we are providing a service for you." I was confused because I 100% didn't think I threw my bags and also, it was 100% unintentional if it did seem aggressive. What Baron doesn't know is that I'm a big fan of Sprouts. I am friends with an ex-Sprouts store manager. I also recommended to the Mayor of Hayward himself that we should get a grocery store like Sprouts in Hayward. And I'm also friends with current Sprouts employees. I would never, ever be rude to a Sprouts employee. After I clarified with Baron how exactly I should place my bags, he then said, "There are cameras in the store." As if to threaten further action if I did this again. What was most embarrassing was there was another customer right next to me while this was going on. The good thing was that the other customer was smiling at me as if to say that he knew Baron was overreacting. I called the store manager on duty (Thomas) shortly after to report this behavior. I would advise being cautious when buying produce on sale. If they're advertising deals on any produce (like buy one, get 50% off), there's usually a reason, just got home with two bags of cuties, one bag is fresh, while other is just old and bad. Check in the store as you may only realize once you get home. They are close, generally have good products and the store is typically well maintained. They started off great when they opened almost a year ago, but have slightly slowed down with the greatness. They have great products/food items when they first opened and the quality/quantity was there. It seems that since they are established the quality/quantity has gone down a bit. I made the mistake of giving them. Another chance I had Instacart deliver groceries. The wrong cheese was given, and the biggest disappointment was opening the little tangerine to see it was completely full of mildew and rotted inside no more. I'm done with the store and I got a feeling many others are too. Corporate should check out the store. Somethings really wrong with the running of the store. I've stopped by Sprouts twice this week, once on Sunday afternoon and again on Monday, specifically to pick up dandelion greens for my rabbits, and both times the bunches were in terrible condition. They were wilted, browning, and starting to rot. It's really frustrating to make a trip expecting fresh produce and repeatedly find spoiled greens still on display. For a store that prides itself on quality and freshness, this was really disappointing. Dandelion greens aren't exactly hard to keep fresh if rotated properly, so it seems like no one is monitoring the produce section closely. This review is related to the deli department only. Over the last year or so I sometimes stop here to buy some deli meats. Mainly around the early afternoon. There is never a line and most of the people behind the counter are fulfilling pre-orders for sandwiches. My observations are as follows, first everyone seems way too busy to stop what they are doing so to deal with someone who wants immediate assistance. Most people fill out a slip to have a sandwich made, then return later to pick it up. The second thing I notice is that for whatever reason the last person using the slicer never seems to wipe it off. Customers could clearly see protein particles all over the unit. All I know is that 30 minutes could pass by and still nobody has wiped off the slicer. Once I even suggested using a different slicer that was clean, my reply was , don't worry I'll wipe it off. But all they did was knock off a few flecks on the base of the slicer. Thanks but no thanks. read more

They were both in deep conversation and after asking for help 3 times, they finally noticed me. After the third time of asking for help, I did not even want the help anymore. After walking away, you can hear both employee's laughing a lot and causing a scene. This had to be heard across the store! I had asked a cashier what their names are, to which I was told Service Manager Carlos and Assistant Manager Thomas. This is not what I want to go through, just to ask where the bread is! I went here with my family on Saturday. I have to say that I'm not the chain's target audience (eating healthy to me is having one bacon cheeseburger instead of two). I'm giving 4 stars because the store is great for the regular shoppers. The store is open daily from 7 a.m.-10 p.m. The employees were friendly and available. My wife didn't find the lip balm that she was looking for, but a male employee did his best to help her. So glad we finally have a Sprouts so close by here in Hayward! I'm becoming a regular in this plaza and one tip for drivers: you can definitely expect that the parking lot will be packed. However, if you don't mind a walk, you can easily find parking around the corner on the Starbucks side of the lot. [[HIGHLIGHT]]In comparison to other Sprouts I've been to, this one is pretty similar. Though I will say it's a lot brighter and maybe even bigger?[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They've got *almost* all that you need here for groceries. You won't find the unhealthy brand name snacks here. But they do have a lot of healthier alternatives to what you might be looking for! The prices might be a little more expensive than what you'd find at Trader Joe's but they always have tons of deal (today was 99 cents for a pack of ground chorizo or chicken sausage!). I love that they also have lots of smaller business items here - a lot of new and up & coming CPG brands. So I feel like I'm always discovering new potential favorites while here. Plus, they often have samples that they serve of new snacks and treats. Just be aware - those samples might make you tempted to buy some stuff not on your shopping list! And of course, you can't beat the bulk section. Really appreciate that you can buy a reusable bag or jar to take home bulk items AND that you can take as much or as little as you want to reduce waste. read more

I have been getting snacks, produce, and poultry from here and have not been disappointed until 01/12/26. I decided to get salmon. The salmon was NOT FRESH and despite me trying to be positive I should've trusted have trusted my instincts and tossed it but I did it (I know bad on my end). When I walked into the store, I had several employees standing around talking to one another Even. There was one person that didn't even greet me and he walked right past me soon as I entered the door. I highly recommend that the employees be more welcoming and also do more training. So freaking happy we have a healthy option grocery store in Hayward!! The selection, customer service, cleanliness is top notch. Prices aren't too bad either. It's like a mix of Trader Joe's and Whole Foods. They have raw milk here as well, and even packaged lunches that I sometimes get for my kiddos that for about 5 bucks, which is 2 bucks cheaper than their school lunch! Also, I thought parking would be an issue, cause in and out and raising canes however been here at random times and days, and was always able to find parking. I went to visit the new store for the first time last week and I am amazed by the amount quality of products they have despite being a small store. However, what got my attention was customer service, specially "The customer service" , provide to me and my mother for a young woman named Kendall. We came in looking for coconut oil, and honestly for me they were all the same , but my perspective on that changed when I met Kendall. She not only showed me the places where to find the bottles , but she gave a lecture in all types of coconut oil and their usage. Just want to say that Sprouts is lucky to have an employee like Kendall, loving, caring and really enjoy helping people. I will definitely come back, as I live very close to the new shopping center area and I will spread the word. To Sprouts management, thank you for hiring the best.
