Prasad Island Market is a very small market with a frozen section selling meats, seafood. a refrigeration section selling produce, juices, et al. the can section has large containers with sauces, condiments, meats, food products. they also have clothing, jewelry, cosmetics available as well as some snacks. the goods are from Australia/New Zealand, Hawaii and the Pacific Islands of Fuji, Samoa, Tonga. most items didn't satisfy a personal need, an adversity to cooking, or not being a clothing diva. i did find something to nipple on: 3 packages of cookies (coconut, breakfast, & choc. chip) for $5. slightly too sweet, and made from palm oil.... the people here were friendly, courteous, and helpful...their patrons have a proper venue to source their needs.

Love this Polynesian store. They have everything we want from the islands especially our specialty foods. The only thing is that they close on Monday so we had to come back Tuesday. We should've called the store first. Very friendly workers.

Oh boy! Sent my bf here after a while to pickup some lamb. Well over the phone, a lady quoted me $3.99/pound but bf checked out two packets of lamb for around $35!! Which per pound he got charged $4.59! He didn't know better to question. Okay then quality of meat....very unhealthy pieces of junk meat! See pic! At least 1Ib was purely fat I better stick to my usual store off Tennyson despite this one was closer to me

    Old taro leaves.

Not too fond of this place. Customer service here is below rating. I was here close to 10am and…read morenoticed that their "self-checkout" wasn't ready. There was only one cashier next to the self check out lane and she didn't want to open up the self- checkout when one of the staff asked her about it. Apparently, she was the one who had the key and can open up the area. Anyway, I decided to call the store from where I was in line (I was probably the sixth person in line at the time). To make a long story short, I attempted to call three times before I actually got a person to answer the phone. I asked when will they be opening the "self check out" area and she said "she didn't know...sometimes they open at 10 or 11... it just depended on who was there".

As I left with roughly $50 worth of items, I said, "Have a good day" to the security guard. He didn't acknowledge me, so I just shrugged and walked out. But as I walked, all the sudden, I WAS GRABBED FROM BEHIND, AND A MAN GRABBED MY BAG. Guess who it was? The security guard himself. You ignored me as I wished you a good day and exited the store, BUT THEN YOU CHASE AND GRAB ME? I'm a petite woman, and if I was elderly, I probably would have died of a heart attack. For all I know, I could have been mugged! Then a guy who looks like a store manager walked up and demanded to see the receipt. I showed it to him, and then they let me go. Terrible service here.

I went to pick it up on Wednesday, only to be told it wasn't ready yet. When I explained that I had already called it in on Sunday, the employee initially said she didn't see anything in the system and told me to come back the next day. After I reminded her again that I had called in, she suddenly "found" it and told me to come back in 2 hours and that I would receive a text message when it was ready. I never received the text message they promised. I returned on Friday, and once again they couldn't locate my prescription. After more searching, they finally found it -- but they also tried to give me someone else's order at the same time. I had to explain that I only had one prescription and asked them to verify it using my phone number, not just my last name. The entire experience was very unprofessional, disorganized, and frustrating. On top of that, the drive-thru wait was over 20 minutes. For something as important as prescriptions, accuracy and communication should be a priority. This pharmacy seriously needs to improve its customer service and organization.

I'm also old enough that I can say "I remember when. . . " And not sound like I'm auditioning for a part I am too young for . . . So, here goes: I remember when I lived at 12th&Taraval in SF. Just three straight uphill blocks from a Safeway. I lived in a 3rd story walk up apartment with my boyfriend and two cats, Blitzkrieg and Zippo. I would get groceries just to get paper bags sometimes to change my catliter. So these paper bags had handles and could safely hold groceries carried home often in Carl the fog or straight up rain, and THEN hold 10-15 pounds of soiled cat litter and poop down 3 flights of stairs without so much as tearing, let alone becoming completely structurally unsound. This is my grocery bag upon being picked up once. Once. You can't tell me it's not purposeful that these bags are garbage. It's bad enough Safeway gouges us on grocery prices, but to then disrespect the groceries we do but from them by making sure they drop on the floor immediately because of this shameful excuse for a paper bag. It's unreasonable. Completely unreasonable. This bag has English muffins, a piece of salmon and ladies hygiene pads. Almost no weight, and it tore upon being touched by a human. Safeway is a huge grocery chain . . . Do better.
