I am writing to detail my shopping experience at the Modesto Sprouts Farmers Market location on May 2, 2026. On that day during my visit, an-store employee engaged in conduct that is considered to be racial profiling towards and discrimination against me at the Sprouts located on McHenry Avenue in Modesto, California. This violation of my civil rights occurred in the personal care items section. I was shopping in the first personal items aisle when an employee almost immediately came to the aisle and stood within three feet of me as she rearranged every product that could be found on both my right side for four to five minutes and my left side for the same amount of time. Nearly ten minutes passed before the employee left for the very next (second) aisle. By contrast, in the second personal items aisle was a customer - that look completely opposite of me - whom I alerted about her car's front left headlight being out in the parking before I entered the store. I was still in search of Castille soap so I went to the second aisle. The employee was there, but she neither stood next to nor stood nearby the other customer as she rearranged store items; in fact, the employee was working opposite of (and much further away from) where the other customer was standing. The employee witnessed the other customer walk past and thanked me once again for alerting her about the car's headlight; right afterwards and only then did the employee ask me if I needed help in finding a product. I got what I was looking for and left to purchase the product. Before I went inside the store, the clerk was nowhere near the personal product aisles. As there are surveillance cameras all over Sprouts Farmers Market, there is absolutely NO reason for any store employee to be profiling me. I did not know the employee's name. I documented the entire incident and mentioned that the video surveillance footage would demonstrate the employee's actions on May 2nd. I brought the issue to the company's attention in a letter I sent via Certified Mail on May 4th; however, they ignored it so on June 9th, I sent a letter via Certified Mail to Sprouts headquarters in Phoenix. They received these documents. I attempted to resolve the incident of discrimination with corporate management, but my complaints were totally ignored. Until May 2nd, I patronized Modesto Sprouts for many years and I certainly did NOT appreciate an employee treating me as if I were a thief for no other reason than my race. California's Unruh Civil Rights Act states that it is illegal for a business to discriminate against a customer because of race, gender, disability, religion, citizenship, or other personal characteristics. I - like everyone else - have the right to patronize a place of business without being scrutinized, profiled and thereby discriminated against due to my race. The discriminatory treatment was totally unacceptable yet the company chose to ignore my complaints, which demonstrated their willingness to ignore the May 2nd violation of my civil rights as a patron. I post this review to make other customers and would-be customers aware of my recent experience that went unresolved by those with the authority to take corrective measures to make things right yet chose not to do so. read more

I absolutely love 'Sprouts'! The selection of food, drinks, vitamins, and so on, are great! A wide variety of everything and I've yet to have anything out of stock. Excellent produce dept! Although you'd think the deli area wouldn't be much, since it's not real big, it's phenomenal! Great options at the counter, and also, around the "island's". The store is always clean, like really clean, which is nice! The employees are nice but not overly welcoming. I will continue to shop here, one of my favorite stores! read more

I have been a loyal customer shopping at Sprouts every month for my family, but my first time ordering online for delivery was an absolute nightmare. I spent over $130 on groceries using a mix of EBT and cash, and I even tipped the driver. The shopper was handling multiple orders, and when my delivery arrived, the majority of my groceries were completely missing. To make matters worse, the few items I actually received were left at room/outside temperature. The food was totally spoiled, and my children and I couldn't eat any of it. When I tried to get this resolved, I was thrown into a frustrating, endless loop. Sprouts told me to call Instacart. Instacart claimed they couldn't do anything. I called Sprouts back today (6/23/26) at 2:13 PM, and the head cashier told me they couldn't help because Instacart is responsible. They even refused to let me return the spoiled items. Neither company is taking responsibility for throwing away my money and Benefits and leaving my family without food. This is completely unacceptable. After being a regular customer, I will absolutely not be returning. read more

My little guy has celiac disease, so he can't have gluten. Sprouts is the best place to go for that kind of shopping!! I've been coming here for the last 10 years. I go here when I need to get him things to have adequate and balanced meals... Though the employees are all incredibly rude, inconsiderate and SO JUDGMENTAL; the quality of meat and produce and vast variates of gluten free options, makes it hard to Stay away. I always feel as if I'm being Judged when we walk in. My son has Down syndrome and one specific employee walked by him today( 4/19/25) and brushed his shoulder, and it' pushed him back. You think she looked back and said sorry? No ma'am, she didn't. If you're reading this- you had a sprouts sweater on with cowboy boots on, walking briskly towards the back. I will most likely never come back, I will stick to Safeway or venture out to the Bay Area. Do better and be kind. read more

I used to shop here more frequently when I was vegan and bought fake bacon and cheese. They have a great selection of plant based processed food, and fresh produce, of course. Their pumpkins were fairly priced when I bought a couple here for Halloween. Went back yesterday for Medterra CBD cream but they no longer carry that brand. It was a couple years ago when I bought it there. That's ok, I ended up with arnica cream and Epsom salt for my husband's aches and pains. Loved the fresh smells of artisan bar soap as soon as I walked in. I came here early to avoid the crowds. It's the opposite of Walmart - very relaxing at this store. They have self-checkout now. I like that, so no one can judge or ask questions about my purchases. I bought a lot of sample size energy drink packets and will return soon for stocking stuffers. read more

2 for 2 Horrible Customer Service I purchased a bouquet of flowers from Sprouts for a recital it was the closest store, but within minutes of leaving the store, my car was filled with a horrible smell--like rotten fish or dirty water. When I arrived at my destination, I realized the odor was coming from the flowers. I called the store immediately, and an employee assured me I could return them with the receipt for a refund. However, when I arrived, the employee who initially helped me was overridden by someone I assume was the manager, Demetria, who rudely informed me they "never" refund flowers or plants. After some back and forth (and unnecessary attitude), she reluctantly offered store credit before ultimately issuing the refund I was originally promised. The entire experience was frustrating--between having to return to the store, dealing with rude customer service, and being denied a refund for something that was clearly not my fault. I won't be buying flowers from Sprouts again, and I hope they address the issue with the quality of their flowers and their customer service. read more

My go to spot in Modesto. 2nd would be the local shops for niche foods. I only go to trader joes for cheap beer, water and dumplings. Sprouts has the meats, cheeses and whole veggies needed to get the job done. The other grocers, nope. Why even got there? Especially Luckys...meh. read more
