Shoppers walk along decking and boardwalks to access the shops. Also, there are different buildings within the shopping center so that adds some interest too. My favorite shops here are The Cottage Shop, Sound Feet Shoes and The Cotton Gin. In addition to shops there are also a handful of restaurants and eateries. And behind the shopping center is a race track and miniature golf course. Timbuck II includes some other business too like a massage place and a real estate office.

A good friend of mine had posted that her favorite mug, which she had purchased at this store years ago, had broken. She was asking if any of her friends were going to be going on vacation and might keep an eye out for it. However, I decided to do a little Internet, sleuthing myself, and so I called and reached out to the store and was putting in contact with the manager. I ended up sending her a picture of the mug and she did not make any promises, but she did say she would see what she could do. She later informed me that they no longer carried it in their location, and that could have been the end of it. However, she went above and beyond, and she actually reached out to other store managers in the area to see if anybody else might have it. Still no luck. However, that's not the moral of the story. The point is that she didn't have to do all of this. She runs a very busy store and had plenty of other things she could have been doing. I am sure. However, she took the time to try and help me so I could try and help my friend. The fact that she reached out to other store managers and even posted in a group of other managers, sharing the photo and just went above and beyond speaks volumes. These days you don't get that kind of customer service very often. And, because so many people only go online to post negative reviews, it's really important that I make a point of sharing the good! If you are ever in Corolla North Carolina, please check out this store and make sure to ask for the manager and tell her that you heard she provided amazing customer service and had wonderful collectible items. They have the most comfy, soft, snuggly sweatshirts for $20 ( and please don't ever change the sweatshirts or the price, that keeps us coming back), as well as stickers, magnets, ornaments, and any souvenirs you could possibly want. And the price point is spot on, you don't feel like you're getting right over the Kohl's and price gouged by some touristy tat shop. And just to add, my first $20 sweatshirt has been washed dozens upon dozens of times and is still soft snugly and intact as the day I bought it. Customer service is usually foreign exchange students who are doing their best, so please be kind.

The guy working on this particular day was super funny and quite the joy to talk to. He had joke after joke making it hard to leave here. While he chatted away with my family members I browsed the different items they have in here. The have a lot of Disney figurines and t-shirts that you won't find elsewhere. Bottom Line: The flagship Cotton Gin offering cotton linens, clothing, home decor, scented soaps,…read moreand lots of other stuff. The Cotton Gin in Jarvisburg is their flagship store and its huge! It is so big that I think you enter the building in Jarvisburg but by the time you get to the north end of the building you're in Grandy. Ok, maybe that is an exaggeration but this is a delightfully huge store with stairs and ramps throughout and I love that the layout makes me feel like I am hunting for treasures. As a kid I found The Cotton Gin to be very boring but it has been decades since I followed my mother and grandmother around looking at linens and pottery. Now I enjoy taking my time perusing all of the goodies at The Cotton Gin like postcards, art prints, scented soaps, books, souvenirs, home décor, jewelry, Christmas ornaments and such. I like The Cotton Gin so much that I am not beyond visiting multiple locations on the same trip to OBX. Aside from the merchandise, I also like the displays. For starters they have so many traditional and non-traditional vintage display cases. They also have some great displays and their Christmas trees are super fun. I will say that during the prime season of June through August it would be tricky to access the store from Hwy 158 on weekends. The Cotton Gin advertises in the Sunny Day magazine so check that out if you are looking for coupons.
