The kids had hot dogs, of course, and my husband and I tried the jalapeño Mac & cheese dog from Beau's with an extra side of Mac, the black bean plate from Cubanissimo and the pork belly & paper beef from FYS. The black bean plate was hands down the winner! It was delicious and neither of us could get enough. The plantains served alongside were good too, especially when they were dipped in the mayo-cream sauce. I've tried FYS previously and was a bit disappointed in their food and service this time around. It wasn't horrible, but they can do better. Hopefully it was just nerves or something. She did apologize and offered us a couple milkis on them (the Korean version of an egg cream; my kids couldn't get enough), which I really appreciated. I like this taco truck/trailer for their tacos al-pastor and horchata. It's my go-to. Although I have not been to many other ones, this one consistently provides me with the best and most satisfactory al-pastor tacos from an actual pastorera set-up. The horchata is authentic with real canela (cinnamon) and delicious. It's been mostly the same crew working inside and again, never seen anything than just regular business and normal customer service. I cannot however attest to their consistent parking at the 500 N. Broadway body shop parking lot location. Sometimes they're not there. I think they start at 6pm. The cashier girl let me know that "they're back" and will be back regularly now. I'm glad. I know that there are a million taco trucks nowadays, but give the tacos al-pastor at this one a try. 500 N. Broadway at Tunnell. Parking lot of a body shop between L&K Liquor and a .99 cent store. Very tasty and delicious shrimp ceviche…read more I see this truck parked at the corner of Donavan and N. Broadway and I decided to give it try. Not knowing much about it, I walked up, was greeted warmly, and ordered shrimp tacos. They informed me they only have cold dishes. The nice people inside the truck explained the menu to me and so I ordered 3 shrimp ceviche tostadas to go. They were really good! I was surprised at how good it all tasted. Although I was full, I wanted more! In the bag were a bag of tostadas, tapatio sauce packets, a chipotle sauce side, sliced limes, a spoon, and napkins. $15.00 I asked for their days and times and she said every day except Wednesdays, 11am to 5:30pm. She also said this is the only location they visit at this time. Upon departing with my order (which came out in relatively quick time), they thanked me warmly which was nice. I got home and set my mise en place. Although the juices made a little bit of a mess, it was so good! I don't mind telling you I drank the left over juices at the bottom of the cup! Again, no hot food here, but if you want a cool seafood based dish, give it a try! Looks like cash only. I see that you can call in an order too. Parking? I got lucky to find the spot behind the truck to be unoccupied but as soon as I left, another customer immediately pulled in. IDK, it's in the Arco gas station lot.
