Truly professional, awesome knowledge, the ability of staying patient with all of my many questions and misconceptions, etc... The work force was so very careful, consistent, mindful of their clean-up each and every day and always ahead of the questions that I might bring up for the following day. I would go outside in the morning soon after they had arrived and what I was going to point out from the previous day's work had already been taken care of. They were super careful with all of my many outdoor plants as well and I didn't lose even one of them. I love the colors that Bob Spurgeon helped me pick out and they do compliment the neighborhood. I don't see me needing another outdoor paint job for many, many years to come. He uses quality paint and with a coat of primer and two coats of this great paint, my house is totally protected from all the elements nature has to offer. I'm glad I chose this company. My house was the 4th house in our family that Spurgeon has painted within the past year. On all four jobs each member of my family has been more than happy with the results. The employees are true professionals and do a detailed job. They respect all landscaping and clean up after themselves. Something a lot of painters simply don't do. What makes working with this company even better is the fact the owner Bob stops by the job unannounced, to go over every detail with his employees. He is meticulous in every detail. Spurgeon Painting was the best choice for handling a house that was originally built in the 50's and had suffered a couple of so-so paint jobs in its past. a) The crew did a great job removing the old paint in a professional manner, while following all safety standards and codes for abatement of lead-based paint. This is important if you have kids or animals; and they protected our plants too! b) The dog is the same color as before, even though he couldn't wait to see the crew in the a.m. c) The price was fair, not the cheapest (didn't trust lowballers with tricky prep work), and not the highest (Spurgeon's standards are higher than their prices). d) The foreman, Boyd, was easy to work with, and helped stage painting with other re-model activities we had going on. They even made a return trip two-weeks after they were "finished" to trim out a couple new doors we replaced after they painted the body. e) Billing and payment were easy; and as agreed, with no extra charges for return trip. read more

We've just had our house painted by Spurgeon Painting and couldn't be happier! We live in an older home and the paint was peeling off pretty badly in spots. There were also patches of rot on the garage building that needed fixing. Bob and his team paid attention to every detail and made the home look like new again. The entire Spurgeon team was wonderful to work with - professional, polite, incredibly talented and responsive! The quality of work was exemplary, the attention to detail was everything I had hoped for - even their fine work with our window mullions and third color accent. The stain work on the red cedar front door and posts, done by the team foreman, was perfection. They painted our two-story detached garage with a 7 in 12 pitch roof, and our two-story barn. They were very careful with placement of equipment to protect our solar panels, protected hay storage in the loft while pressure washing, and patiently adjusted their schedule to allow us to move horses in and out of stalls. I look forward to working with them again this winter to tackle some high ceilings and repainting cabinets in the interior of our home. We were looking for a painting contractor that we could work with to paint our residential two story house. We want to say that we found that in Spurgeon Painting. Spurgeon's crew was great. The crew members, three in all, not only went about their work coolly, calmly, and professionally, but also listened and worked with us. Work and painting points were explained to us, and they also made useful suggestions. When the weather become too hot for the paint to be applied well, they asked if they could start extra early in the morning so they could finish while it was cool enough for the paint to be applied well. The crew also went the extra step of taking care issues and finer points without waiting for us to bring them up. The job took five days and was completed on time and within the estimate. We had the exterior of our Petaluma home painted in July, and we could not be happier with the result. Painting an empty house or the outside of a house is very different than painting the inside of a home with the residents present. As an elder it was especially important to me to be comfortable with the painting crew. The project manager Boyd set the tone with his professionalism. He also took the time to come back to introduce his crew before they started painting. Foreman Roberto and Rigo did an excellent job of painting my living room and stairwell with a 19' vaulted ceiling, which involved hours of overhead painting and difficult angles in a relatively small space. I am a property manager and I have used Spurgeon many times to paint, not only the buildings we manage, but they do such a great job I had them paint my personal residence. They just finished painting our building at 101 Elliott Ave in Santa Rosa and it looks fantastic, feel free to drive by and take a look if you're thinking of using them. It's a 3 story building with railings everywhere and they worked diligently for the past three weeks or so prepping and then painting every exterior surface on the building, so much work but they made it look easy. Spurgeon Painting just completed the exterior paint on out 22,000 square foot three storey building. The finished job looks awesome.
