I feel like this is a popular local coffee shop chain that I should have tried sooner. It's nice; quite lively. Not at all quiet. More of a hang-out-with-friends coffee shop than a hunker-down-with-your-laptop spot. There was dance music playing on the speakers and lots of chatter. Not a bad thing at all, that's just the vibe here. I got an iced coffee from their specials menu and it hit the spot. I'd get it again except that I don't quite remember its deal. I also got a danish that was fine, but sometimes I feel like this type of coffee shop has a pastry case just to give you the bare minimum to eat while you're drinking what you're really there for. They have a cute patio that feels like someone's back yard, but a lot more seating is available inside. I'm glad I finally tried a Spyhouse and I'll likely return.
The baristas here are polite, my coffee is always prepared quickly, tastes great, and there is a decent amount of seating inside and out.
Stopped by Spyhouse as one of my coffee compass stops. It was a late afternoon/after work but pre-event stop, I was just really excited to find a coffee shop open later than 2-3pm. It's a reasonably sized coffee shop. They have a decent amount of seating but it was a little busy so I decided to check out the store next door while I sipped. I ordered the caramella and a seasonal drink - tiramisu latte. Both drinks were good! The barista was patient with me as I browsed over the menu. Street parking as far I could tell. Parking wasn't an issue though.
Great place to work and enjoy a coffee! The barista's are friendly and the place is clean. My favorite coffee here is one of their specialty latte's, the Caramella. Check it out if you're in the area!
I ordered the Spygirl latte and honestly... obsessed. It's got that perfect mix of smooth + bold, with just the right kick of flavor that makes it stand out from a regular latte. Not too sweet, not too bitter--just balanced in the best way. It felt like the kind of drink you'd want to sip while people-watching out the window or catching up with a friend. Cozy vibes, friendly staff, and the drink lived up to the hype. Definitely recommend trying the Spygirl if you want something a little different but still super drinkable.
Great little spot for a mid afternoon coffee stop! The Carmella iced with almond milk was tasty and a great pick me up!
A Minnesota staple that never gets old. We came back here recently on a trip home visiting family and were not disappointed. The spygirl simply cannot be topped as a lavender latte. I remember having this back in 2014 before lavender was even a popular flavor and they get the balance just right. Service is quick and friendly with a nice seating area with a little garden for ambiance, we always bring beans back home to Seattle with us as a treat and can't wait to return here on our next visit!
Good coffee. That includes regular drip along with the craft coffees. Staff were friendly and outgoing and the atmosphere had a casual laidback vibe. We always stop here after traveling.
Spyhouse always has such cute cafes! It's an added bonus that this one has a small patio outside :) The baristas were friendly & patient when we couldn't decide what to order, lol. I love to try their seasonal drinks. Today, I got the Cherry Styles (iced oat milk latte with cherry & vanilla syrups) & my friend got the Pistachio Rose (iced latte with pistachio & honey-rose syrups). Both were really tasty but I loved the nuttiness of the Pistachio.
Love the vibe of Spyhouse Coffee locations. Love the drinks even better! I've tried the Solid Gold, which is a turmeric & ginger latte. Very interesting thing to think about when ordering a latte, but it's actually pretty similar to a chai latte. The Spygirl and Caramella lattes are solid go-to's if you want to make one of those as your "usual." Parking here is pretty much street parking and restrooms are also available!
Really great oat milk matcha lattes (iced) with some delicious pastries! We got the pistachio white chocolate mochi donut and then a yuzu-pecan croissant type of pastry. Both were incredibly delicious! The service was friendly and prompt, we got our order pretty swiftly! The ambiance is very nice and chill, also very cozy - I can see it being really nice to come and work on a rainy day. Also just a great spot to meet up with a friend or for a little coffee date!
Bonjour tout le monde ! This coffee shop is amazing, most definitely underrated! The espresso is super smooth, and doesn't have that bitter aftertaste. It's a go to and never disappoints, they definitely stay consistent. And, are a huge competitor in the coffee game, they stay working in the trenches and it shows. Keep up the good work. The vibes are also great here as well! À bientôt !
I'm not sure why this location has such a low rating. The coffee is always great, and the pastry selection is more than adequate. I have only had positive experiences with the baristas. The space may be a touch small, but there is still sufficient seating. And there is a back patio! Lots to love here.

Coffee is excellent! United Americano was perfect. Street parking was easy to find and they also have an outdoor space. I wish they had a gluten free bakery item and more comfortable seating. Lime was long but moved quickly with decent service. read more

I have a love / anxiety relationship with how different coffee can be at different establishments. That being said, I get a hankering for different coffees from different places. This is one on my love it list. The atmosphere and charm of @spyhousecoffee in St.Paul is simplistic and classic. Their other locations include: Whittier Uptown Northeast Northloop Downtown/Emery Rochester My go to item here is: Iced Caramella with Oat Milk Their pastries are lovely as well. They pair especially well if you want slow down to really enjoy your beverage, be off the phones and just take in the coziness/hustle of a coffee shop. Came here on a hot sunny day and got the jasmine tea lemonade with the mango croissant. Lemonade was so refreshing and wasn't too sweet, the croissant was a little bit too sweet but overall getting a flavored croissant is to be expected. Both were great for a summer day. I sat to do some work and love the ambiance of this coffee shop. Service was quick and easy as well! read more

This is not the worst but definitely not a place I would return to. I recently moved here and was asking around for some good coffee places. This was recommended so I thought I would try. My bf and I both ordered the Carmella iced. I was expecting the drink to taste a little sweet just because if the caramel. But instead, it tasted like just some iced coffee with milk. And the coffee itself didn't taste like anything special. When going to smaller coffee shops I usually expect smooth coffee but this was not very soothing. The staff also did not seem very friendly or welcoming. Overall the ambience felt off and I felt out of place just sitting here waiting for our drinks. I would not recommend. read more

We finally got to try this local twin cities staple! I got the iced queen of hearts a seasonal flavor and it did not disappoint! It's made with oatmilk and the fruity flavor is balanced out nicely as well! They have a dog friendly patio and this location is in a neighborhood not too far from downtown St. Paul! Street parking was easy to find and restrooms are available for customers! Service was excellent! We will definitely be back! read more

I normally love Spyhouse and I have only had great experiences at their NE location (I would give that location 5 stars). I will start with why I am not giving this location five stars and following I will share what I think is good about it. The Bad: The reason I am deducting two stars from this review is because I have not once had a friendly interaction with any of the baristas or employees here. My first assumption is usually - am I doing something wrong? But I don't experience this from other Spyhouse locations or other coffee shops. Honestly, I really don't expect a lot - just maybe a greeting or some kind of kind acknowledgement that I'm a customer (or a human being). It's not a "they didn't smile at me" kind of issue. Most interactions I've had with baristas/employees here have made me feel uncomfortable - as though I am inconveniencing them by coming in and ordering something. I get that it is a tough time to be working in the service industry but I always do my best to be extra kind and I always tip no matter what because those are just my principles. I'm not sure if this location is understaffed/overworked or if there is something else going on - but it would go a very long way, in my opinion, if the baristas were a bit more kind/respectful. The Good: While the customer service leaves much to be desired, I cannot deny that the Spygirl latte is one of the best ones out there. At the very least, they have that consistent throughout all locations I've been to. Every latte I have gotten from here has been made well. I also really love the pastries/baked goods that they have to offer from local bakeries. I do really love the interior and aesthetic of this coffee shop. It's similar to other Spyhouse locations in that it's simple but beautiful with lots of wood, plants, and one of a kind pieces of decor. Finally, I must always say that I love and appreciate Spyhouse's commitment to the local community and to sustainability - and that is a big reason why I will continue to support them. read more

It might be silly, but the Obama picture behind the counter sealed the deal-my new favorite coffee shop. Staff was nice Interior and decor is kicky. I ordered the Spy Girl latte-it said there was lavender in it? I couldn't tell, but it was yummy and was ready fast. Donuts from Mojo Monkey another plus. Only down side is there isn't a lot of seating. I hope the patio in back is an option this summer. read more
This was my last stop in Saint Paul before driving back to Milwaukee. I ordered an Iced Caramela and it set the tone for a great day ahead--so good! I also treated myself to a croissant. It was perfectly buttery and flakey, and definitely hit the spot. The ambiance of this place was great for a sunny winter morning. I was a bit panicked to secure a table on Sunday morning around 10am as it is a smaller location and there were many people, but it was a non-issue. What a charming coffee shop! read more
Great hip coffee shop in Mac Grove area. Plenty of free street parking, outdoor seating in the back, nice ambience with plants and bright lighting, good WiFi signal, kind baristas, lots of drink options, and good selection of delicious baked goods from Black Walnut Bakery and Mojo Monkey. Giving 4 stars due to spendier prices. I had their signature iced Spygirl which is a lavender and honey latte. It's really smooth and not overly sweet, however, it's $6 so definitely on the pricier side. Would have liked it with oat milk but would have been an extra 75 cents. Also had an almond croissant that was fantastic but $4.75. Wasn't super busy on a Sunday morning so I was able to find many open tables. read more

Really cute coffee shop on the corner next to a cute gift shop! There was a good amount of people here mostly on their laptops. I ordered the speciality latte which was delicious. It was sage infused with pecans and came with a little waffle cookie. The staff wasn't very friendly, the lady that took my order didn't even ask me if I wanted my coffee for here or to go so it came in a to go cup when really I wanted it in a mug because we sat there and drank our coffees and chatted for awhile AND they could of saved a wasted cup. Besides that, the coffee was great and I appreciate a good latte art. read more

For the picky coffee drinker in the family (moi) Spyhouse meets expectations with flavor and beauty. These guys delivered my almond milk latte in a MN cappuccino cup with saucer, hot, not too hot, and so deliciously drinkable. Come get coffee. Then walk next door to "I Like You Too" gift shop. This is an excellent outing. read more

Spyhouse coffee is located throughout the city. I stopped at this particular location on Thanksgiving day. I was surprised that it was open. The menu wasn't all that special. Nothing sounded to appetizing but coffee is coffee. The latte was ok and nothing to over the top. The conversations were better than the coffee. The space was nice and well lit. I'll consider it a spacious coffee shop. The ones where you are not shoulder to shoulder with a stranger. Overall, it's a nice stop and go coffee shop with plenty of street parking. read more
