We were visiting family and went here for the afternoon. It was a little pricey for what it is since there is not a whole lot to see. But we did enjoy ourselves. We saw a bobcat, mountain lion, otters, black bear, and eagles. If the weather is nice I would recommend. The trail is almost 2 miles.

Amazing experience! Think of a nature walk with a twist! There were plenty of education activities for children and adults to learn about our environment, along with some enclosed spaces with animals where you actually get to learn about the local ecosystem and not just window browsing animals! Definitely worth the visit with children!

Animal talks on the hour. Great for all ages!

Our family really enjoyed the science center. So much to see, learn, and do! Highly suggest you go. Make sure you allow plenty of time to read all the info, go see some talks about the animals, and hang out at the different exhibits to observe the animals and learn all about them! All the animals found here are native to the area and were saved, but unable to return the wild for one reason or another. This isn't a sad zoo, but a great educational and conservation place!

Much like Wolf Hollow in Ispwich I came here with my mom, who is a fellow nature lover, but can't do much hiking. It's usually zoos and sanctuaries if she's going to get to see stuff other than what's in her backyard. This place was very cool. It has lots of native NH species including foxes, deer, bobcats, black bears and a mountain lion (yes, I say they are NH native despite what the state says, people up North know better about mountain lions and wolves). All the animals here are rescued from either being abandoned my a mother or hit by a car.I like knowing they didn't just trap and enclose these animals and that they would basically be dead otherwise if they weren't here. They have the modernized plexiglass enclosures which lots of places have put in over the old school zoo chain link. It allows you to get much closer and as a photo guy I love that aspect. We went in the winter and they offer snowshoes, or you can go it on your own, but beware slips and falls if you do. The staff was friendly and knew their stuff. You could tell they really care about the animals. The only drawback was that they lead you on a tour throughout the exhibit rather than let you roam it freely, which means you get a limited amount of time at each enclosure. Taking photos , I have to wait for the kids and other people to get out of the way, and though they didn't make you feel pressured, you know you have to move along. I also would not recommend going in the winter . It's a really cool place not to far from home and would be a great place to bring the young'ns (or Moms) if they like animals.

Brian was phenomenal! His knowledge of the Lake is vast, and he has a gift for communicating in a way that is educational, fun and engaging! It's as if he's been doing this forever, and gave us a perspective on Winnipesaukee that was multi-faceted...taking in points of environmental interest such as loons and an actual volcano, human interest, such as celebrity residents, all the while cleverly weaving in the rich history of the lake, including a very heartwarming story of a young Native American man and his lovely bride to be. It was as if he was introducing the lake like an old friend. Brian is seasoned and at the same time humorous. We enthusiastically recommend this cruise. We loved it!

And even though there was a fairly stiff breeze blowing up some chop, the Millie B just plowed through it all. Just be aware that getting wet is all part of the trip.... I want to do it again! The NH Boat Museum is still housed in its location on Center Street, and you can see how great it will be when they move into their new spot in a couple of years - hopefully. Be sure you watch the historic video before going through the museum itself so you get a better sense for the things that you'll see. This isn't a big museum, and if you don't appreciate the historical significance of these boats and life in the Lakes Region, then you probably won't enjoy the 5 minutes that you'll spend walking through the exhibit. My wife and I savored each boat and read all of the documentation, and really enjoyed it.

Weather got a little hariy getting there with the slushy roads, but we made it! It's pretty remote location with no street lights, so if driving in the dark look for the signs to get there and trust your GPS. There's a large parking lot across from the entrance to the little store/shop. The shop is actually the owners old family home I belive. We arrived pretty much at closing time, but we were still welcomed warmly. We got a cheese & maple syrup tasting which was yum and informative, and the staff member that did it was really nice, I forgot her name, but see photo below. One of the cheeses has won a cheese competition, very cool. We also got to meet the owner, but she was busy getting Christmas orders together. I perused all of the cheeses I wanted and settled on 4. We got to try 2 out of the 4 from the cheese sampling. The nice lady that checked me out even gave me some nice to-go samples as well. The smoked cheese was my fav, and the sage. But I enjoyed them all. I was able to easily fly home to TX with them due to the cold weather of the season. After the tasting, we got to peruse the store. They have so much other stuff to buy in additon to cheese and maple, tons of knick-knacks and gifts and merch. We didn't get to explore the farm after since it was pitch black when we left, too bad. Enjoy!

Sadly this year I didn't get to visit New England - but lucky for me Sugarbush ships nationwide!! So I tried it out and ordered some of their syrup and my fave cheeses. Ordering online via their website was super easy. I ordered my fave dark variety of their maple syrup and 4 cheeses: horseradish cheddar, jalapeño cheddar, sharp cheddar, and Monterey Jack. Their horseradish cheddar is my absolute fave - a wonderful kick of the spicy horseradish blends so well with their rich cheddar. I really love the jalapeño cheddar too - packed full of flavor with just the right amount of kick - not overwhelming but enough to taste it. The other two were great as well - you can definitely tell their cheeses are made fresh on site - flavors are just next level compared to industrial-manufactured cheeses from the grocery store chains. And the maple syrup is also in a league of its own - nothing mass-manufactured from any grocery chain holds a candle to the rich, complex flavors and velvety texture. The syrups also last quite a long time so I'm able to keep my stocks full yearly! Since I was ordering cheese with a long way to travel, and it was still quite warm in parts of the US, their website suggested adding one of their insulated shipping boxes for an extra fee of $8. I didn't want to risk ruining my cheese so I did and all arrived in excellent condition! They pack it in extra insulated styrofoam with ice packs. So it's definitely worth it imo. Next year I'll be in Maine in October so I'll definitely be planning an extra day or two to pop over to Sugarbush on my way back out haha!! See yall next fall!

We had fun exploring the grounds and my two sons especially enjoyed playing on the nautical-themed playground. The highlight of the park is the Seacoast Science Center. There are all sorts of exhibits devoted to the conservation of marine and coastal environments. My two sons loved learning about whales, local shellfish populations, the local fishing industry, the fight against ocean pollution, and underwater exploration. As recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records, Funspot is the LARGEST arcade in the world. Originally opened as the Weirs Sports Center, then 21-year-old Lawton opened it as an indoor miniature golf course and penny arcade with $750 borrowed from his grandmother. It was originally located in the top floor of Tarlson's Arcade building across from the Weirs Beach boardwalk. In 1964, Lawton purchased 21 acres of land nearby and relocated his business there. At this time, it was renamed "Funspot". By the 1980s, arcade cabinets and pinball machines had become the most popular attractions at Funspot. The business soon switched from quarters to tokens. Lawton continued to expand the business and even opened six satellite locations, but they all closed down by the late 1990s. Funspot was heavily featured in the 2007 film "The King of Kong": a universally-acclaimed documentary about competitive arcade gaming. Today Funspot has over 600 video games (both retro and modern), pinball machines, ticket redemption machines, an indoor miniature golf course, 20-lane ten-pin and candlepin bowling, cash bingo, a restaurant, a tavern, an ice cream stand, kiddie rides and several other attractions on its grounds. It is also home to the American Classic Arcade Museum. My extended family and I visited Funspot this past summer while we were spending the week in Maine. On one day in particular, it was a little too rainy to go to the beach. Funspot was just an hour drive from where we were staying, so we made the trip and arrived in time for the opening. I have wanted to visit Funspot ever since I saw the film "The King of Kong"; it had been on my bucket list for a while. This place is HUGE; they have so many classic arcade cabinets and pinball machines from the golden age of arcade games (roughly late 1970s to early 1980s). "Donkey Kong", "Pac-Man", "Galaga", "Frogger", you name it and they had it. My wife and I had so much fun taking turns on all of the various arcade cabinets and pinball machines. I especially enjoyed playing "JAWS" pinball in a shark cage of all places. Our two sons especially enjoyed all of the various driving games as well as all of the vintage kiddie rides. My family also enjoyed a few rounds of skee-ball and air hockey. I can't remember the last time I had so much fun; I never wanted to leave. If you are a fan of classic arcades then you simply must make the pilgrimage to Funspot!

This place is known as the biggest arcade in the country and as a retro game collector and someone who loves pissing loads of money away to win tickets to buy literal garbage, this place was right up my freaking ally. When I first walked in I was surrounded by a bowling ally, pinball machines, and a ton of ticket games that I wanted to start working on right away, however, I used some restraint. Next! I checked downstairs and stumbled across the prize center and a bunch of other random ticket games, but the real gold was found on the upper level. When you go upstairs you are greeted by hundreds of retro arcade machines from the 70s on and I was in my own form of heaven. I checked out a bunch of the obscure machines and sucked at most of them, before coming across the likes of X-Men, Mortal Kombat 2, Centipede, and hundreds more. I wanted to stick to retro games but after seeing my nephew on the ticket hunt, I joined in and won myself about 1300 tickets before tapping out and just giving them to him. What I didn't know is that he thought it would be funny to spend 4500 tickets to give me a Bluey bag that Funspot definitely ordered off Temu or something because it's quite possibly the worst quality item i've ever seen at an arcade, kudos to my nephew though for being awesome. Overall, Funspot is a, well, a fun spot to go for a bit. We spent maybe an hour and a half messing around and playing games and I definitely enjoyed myself. The insane amount of machines was great, the vibes were retro arcade, and the fun was endless. My main complaint with this place is the absolute trash prizes they have.
