The seats were not super comfortable but it's the price you pay for an authentic experience. The tables were surprisingly large. The train was very warm but felt better once we got moving. I recommend getting seats that are odd numbers because you'll be closer to the lake. The train goes down and back but does not turn around so if you get the lake side you'll get it on the way out and back. Also if you get table 1 you'll be served first!

Mountain Pines Campground is a cute little campground. There are about 20 campsites and each…read morecampsite can fit about 2-3 tents. Each site also have a picnic table and fire pit. We stayed at campsites 18 and 19 and it was along the Baker River. They have free shower and toilet facilities, but only one shower and toilet per gender. They turn off their showers from 11pm to 7am so plan accordingly! There is also a water spout in the middle of the campground. WiFi is also available close to the check-in building. It's $10 per person, per night. Make sure to know your campsite number ahead of time. If you arrive late at night, they do not leave any notes or anything telling you where your campsite is. Also, ringing the bell does not help after hours. It's located near the side of the road so it can get annoying when cars drive past in the middle of the night. However, I don't mind staying here again. The folks here are nice. Campground is clean. It's also close to the Common Cafe and Tavern and the crags.

As we were visiting in July, I got tickets to do the mountain coaster and it was great. Getting there was easy and there are large signs along the way to help guide you there easily. Once arrived at the huge parking lot, we locked the car and went to the ticket office where the super friendly young lady checked us in and let us know where to go. The coaster is clearly marked and when we got there, the line was very small. We had a timed ticket so we had unlimited rides for two hours. We rode the coaster a total of three times (took just over 30 minutes total) and that was plenty. It was a lot of fun and it's a thrill going through the trees so quickly...even the ride up is fun and scenic. There are a lot of staff helping on-board and off-board riders and they were all very friendly and helpful. The ride is safe for all ages and we saw little kids riding with their parents, youngsters riding alone (if they met the height requirement) and even grandparents riding it. It was a lot of fun...thrilling but not too scary. Just a reminder...you need to wear closed toe shows. Flip-flops and Crocs won't due it so bring some sneakers. There was a craft show going on while we where there so we walked around and spent some money on local food. That was nice. We also saw people on the zip lines and they all seemed to be having a blast. If we come back, I will definitely sign up for that. This was just a fun time at a nice place with friendly staff. The place feels so laid back (although safety is paramount so I don't want it to seem that wasn't taken seriously). If you come here, I think you'll be like me and leave with two things: 1) a smile on your face; and 2) a desire to come back soon.

Tues-Sat night skiing is $50...(with free rentals for those who need it). We will be going back for the night skiing. There is the Penny chairlift that does not go far up the mtn at all--it takes you a little bit up to try out some green trails. Those slopes are not very wide which is helpful for beginners in my opinion BUT my friends enjoyed it.

He put safety first, which meant we could just relax and enjoy the day without a worry. We spent the afternoon hanging out in Braun Bay, swimming, playing beer pong, and enjoying a delicious lunch we brought on the boat. It honestly couldn't have been a more perfect day. Captain Bill is one of those people who instantly makes you feel comfortable. He's genuinely kind, funny, easy to talk to, and somehow knew exactly what our group needed to make the day so much fun. By the end of the trip, it felt like we'd been boating with a friend. Our day was so memorable that we've already decided this is going to become a yearly summer tradition. I recently stayed at Pine Haven for a long weekend in June. This place was wonderful! Far enough…read moreoff route 93 where you feel secluded from the main hustle and bustle, but close enough to Walmart, gas stations, restaurants, etc. My friends and I were welcomed by friendly staff right away at check in. The camp store is packed with food and camping essentials. We grabbed a campground map, and luckily a local map, which came in handy as the service in the area is pretty spotty! Not a problem for our group as we were looking to disconnect for the weekend, but definitely something to keep in mind. The camp wifi worked well up near the main areas, but could be a little spotty down by our site; no biggie though. We stayed at site R1 along the river, without hookups. These spots were gorgeous! The white noise of the river while sleeping was so relaxing. Our spot had some good distance from our neighbors, although it appeared some of the other "R" sites are a little close together (great for groups/families!). The area was flat with plenty of room to set up a large 8 person tent, and still have room for the picnic table, fire ring and chairs, and even more tents if needed. Our first day we had some severe weather warnings and quite a bit of rain. The staff was wonderful with driving by and checking on us, as they warned us the river can rise with severe rain. Luckily we didn't have any problems with the river getting too close to our tent. The campground has events throughout the summer that are definitely worth checking out. We were lucky enough to grab some pizzas from the food truck that came to visit! We will definitely be returning here, and recommending this place to friends and family!

R-sites are small and going down hill in to the river/ stream. No privacy between sites. These site are below the top of the hill, camping on a slope. They also have a ledge of ground on the edge of site going down into the waters. Definitely can easily injure oneself if not careful. Most fire pits are at the edge of the site under the trees branches, not on flat land looking like it is going to fall and go into the river/stream. Quiet time is at 1030pm. This actually means silent time, lights out and go to bed. Can not sit around fire pit and talk. Booked 3 nights with family only stayed one night. Could not stay because of the owner stalking us at night and did not feel welcomed. Being watched all the time. Keep your money go elsewhere. Speedway near by, hear everything at the campground. Can not even hear ourselves speak with the racing going on there. Non caucasian steer clear. You will be judged the moment you step into the office. Treated with no respect, harass and stalked. Come to think of it, it is like a KKK movie...these ppl will speak to you only to benefit them but behind our backs despises us

Waited about 20-30 minutes in the lift line but thats how it is sometimes. They only had two lifts running and the lines morphed into each other. Besides the long lines, the workers were incredibly kind and worked very hard. The mountain its self was awesome; full of glades, great trails and I came after it got dumped on with snow! The lodges were busy as heck but that is again, how it is. I will 100% come back, it was so impressive.

The one bummer was the little goat shack on the bunny hill no longer hosts any goats which was always a fun little quirk to ski by. The blues and black diamonds are short but solid runs that were so fun to rip down. The main lift is speedy. Decent space and storage in the lodge. Would highly recommend and would return!
