I was a guest here for a wedding. It's such a cute place for a rustic wedding! There is a great barn area for dancing and lovely green grass with some fun sculptures! I loved it here! The staff were wonderful. They were completely on top of everything and seemed to make sure every guest at the wedding was happy! The food was delicious! My name is Alyssa Wood, I am the owner and photographer at Isa Images Photography Studio located in Tiverton, RI. I have had the great pleasure of working at the Meeting House numerous times throughout the past few years, photographing weddings on the property. The venue is incredibly unique and beautiful, with its expansive green lawn great for ceremonies, lawn games, and photographs. Also the simple yet elegant exposed beam design inside the building has so much character yet leaves room for couples to add to the space to integrate their own personal style into their wedding day. The weddings I have been able to photograph here seem to all have a comfortable relaxed atmosphere as couples and their wedding guests feel immediately at home at the Meeting House. The Meeting House staff is always pleasant and eager to help both vendors navigate throughout the space as well as couples to ensure the day runs soothly and effortlessly on the newlyweds part. I am eager to work here again in the 2015 wedding season. The photography opportunities are endless with the Meeting House being surrounded by the historic village of Tiverton Four Corners and all the historic buildings and beautiful stone walls throughout the area. read more

Who knew all those years I spent eating my Gray's Ice Cream on the lawn of the Meeting House and thinking, "this would be a great place to get married." that I'd actually end up getting married there one day in November 2011. The Meeting House itself is a historic styled contemporary built structure and is set on a really lovely historic New England property. The structure itself is very basic and fairly small but fit our wedding of 75 guests just fine. Indoor facilities include 2 restrooms, a small prep area for caterers and an entry hall that can fit either a bar or coat room. Pros: *Beautiful setting with great areas for an outdoor ceremony and formal photos. *Interior balcony makes for great vantage point for photographer. *Rustic, exposed wood beams add to the ambiance. *The grounds are private and secluded. Cons: *The staff who manage the site are fairly antiquated in their communication. I'm a girl of the tech age and I really love having email as evidence of conversations but it was almost impossible to get them to follow up phone calls with an email. This isn't good when you're trying to tie down details such as hostess fees and what not that seem to be subjective. * Prior to our event, I never actually met the woman who hostessed our wedding and we also had the problem of her not properly intervening when the caterer had a question or an issue. * A different woman met us at the site the night before so we could set up a few items and run through our ceremony but to be honest, it seemed as if she'd never been there. She wasn't sure how some of the doors opened, and there were a few items such as a podium and a bench that my husband and best man actually had to carry up to the balcony because she didn't know where they belonged but we didn't want them in our reception room. Overall, we are so pleased we were married at the Meeting House and any snafu's were quickly forgotten but do keep in mind that you'll need to be proactive in getting as much information as possible about "hidden fees" such as the hostess fees and rehearsal time fees. read more

i liked this place, but the "hostess" that we had to pay $25 an hour to have there for the whole event didn't do a very good job as far as i'm concerned. she wasn't the middle man keeping the caterers from interrupting me while i was talking to guests which i found forgivable the first 3 times they found me, but the 4th tie SHE brought them to me and the fifth i just heard someone yelling for me. she was, however, good at being the parking lot attendant. also, at the end of the event she very obviously wanted to leave the second it ended and was standing next to me and said "start telling them to leave, i want to get home to my kids." hahahaha i'm sorry, NO. it was my wedding, people were dancing. she said that to the wrong person and in a shitty tone on top of it. she was getting paid a lot and BY ME, to do nothing and to say that to me? she could make the announcement, isn't that her job? i'm supposed to be dancing into the night having a good time. not being trivialized by a malcontent woman who's currently being paid by me. i just thought that was really out of line on top of her half assing of the rest of the day. on the bright side, if that "hostess" has found a job she likes more than saying things to brides that upset them and they'll remember forever, this place is really cool. betsy is super nice and since there wasn't an event the night before, she opened it up for us and we brought down supplies in advance which was a huge help. the grounds are beautiful and our pictures there are my favorites. i would have given them 5 stars if it weren't for that woman (you can always request not her, ask for anyone that didn't do the 6/11/11 wedding), and i almost gave them only 3 because of her, but the place is really nice and they can't be faulted too harshly for something that replacing one person could solve. read more

The Meeting House provided the perfect location for my wedding ceremony and reception. It's such a charming, clean slate with beautiful grounds. We had our ceremony on the hilltop with a tented reception, utilizing the Meeting House building as our dance floor. So many guests said it was the most fun they have ever had at a wedding - they loved that we could have a firepit and could effortlessly utilize all areas of the venue. There are so many great photo opportunities nearby as well as on site. The Meeting House staff is so friendly, flexible and helpful in allowing you to bring your vision to fruition. I would recommend the MH to any bride, whether you are a DIY bride or want a lavish wedding with a lot of rustic charm. read more
