Since more people are working remotely, the definition of "the office" has changed and is now much more collaborative and flexible. The Shop does a nice job of accommodating different work styles in this one location. You can work out in the open space if you prefer to be around other people. If you need a bit more privacy, there are smaller areas where you can work or take calls without bothering those around you. There are board rooms with conference tables that you can reserve for meetings too. There's a centrally located kitchen area where you can grab food or drinks and catch up on the latest office gossip. The nice thing is that since there are so many different organizations represented, there's no shortage of gossip! My only hang-up with this location is the parking. It's near Trax, which is wonderful, but if you drive your vehicle, you'll be paying for parking and walking a little. Not terrible, but for a facility that's meant to bring people from all over together, it's a bit of a challenge with the parking. Otherwise, if you're in the market for a shared work space this one is worth considering.

Dishes are placed in the gray bins inside the kitchen. People there were welcoming and asked if I was a new member after introducing themselves to me. Some phone calls were a little loud but they have a variety of meetings rooms if you need a quiet space. Location is convenient, near a bunch of restaurants for an easy DoorDash order. I ate right at my work booth. Loved this place, definitely a lot better than working at the airport. Didn't check out the rooftop due to inclement weather but I hear it's great!

We are talking changing a water softener they sold us and installed (we had to replace it on our own), the main shower bathroom membrane seal is broken which may have mildew and mold, and the main water line connection which can cause a basement flooding. Unfortunately, these are things we cannot inspect or see until they break. Now warranty is not helping us because it has been more than one year since we bought the home. A Kiln staff member, Karina, asked if she could grab her a snack. I was so focused I almost missed the gesture--but moments later she returned with a full plate of apples, peanut butter, cashews, and dried mango. My daughter was thrilled. It was such a small, thoughtful act, and it genuinely caught me off guard in the best way. It's moments like this that make Kiln feel human. It's a community of people who really care, not just an office space. As we prepare for an incoming intern who uses a wheelchair, Chad, Kiln's director, has been proactive and thoughtful in helping us plan for the right ADA accommodations.
