Booked first appt after birth with ease. Every step of the way after that has been difficult & unprofessional. They never answer the phones. I'm not being dramatic, not once in eight months have I been able to get anyone on the phone. They advise to book within the portal. ANYTIME I submit a request, it's a delayed response. 8 days ago, I called, no answer. Sent a portal message explaining it was an urgent medical matter that I felt she needed seen for that day. The contacted me back today, 8 days later. I 10/10 do not recommend. If you prefer a more holistic approach with peds that don't push vaccinations, there are other much better offices than this.

I checked him in on a tablet (which kinda freaked me out with all the germs not gonna lie) but it was super convenient and quick. We waited for about 15 minutes maybe 20 and they called us back! We got to see Dr. Vanatta I think that's how you spell it and she was a pediatrician. I really loved how great of a job she did with my bubba and how nice she was! She was very knowledgeable about what was going on with him and I left out feeling much better. The waiting room was really nice and accommodating for babies and children as they have toys and sensory activities out. Although it was kinda far as we live in the downtown area we will be back. From…read morechecking in where 3 people were behind the counter and 1 person it the huge waiting room, it took all three people to finally get me checked in with my ID and insurance card. After I sat down I got the txt to check in and had to dig my phone out and take a picture front and back of the ins. card and ID, after 2 people at the checkin desk had already entered all of the info. (appalling). Another 15 minutes before being called back, then 2 different people had to come in and get my entire rundown, which was such a minor problem that I was there for. Absolutely so unprofessional, did not have confidence in the people that saw me. They were not Dr.s, PA's that I was very skeptical about. I will never step foot back in that place! I basically told them what I needed, from past experience, as they did not want to give me what I knew would help. The only positive I can say is that they Called in the script that I needed. I went in while experiencing a miscarriage. I arrived at 7pm and was told that an ultrasound tech…read morewas on call and had already been called due to another patient experiencing the same symptoms that I was and needing an ultrasound as well. I was told that once the tech was called, she had an hour to report in so it may be a wait. From about 8pm when I was moved to the ER side (apparently required due to needing an ultrasound), I was left in the room and would leave to go out in the hallway and check in with nurses to find out when I would be seen or any updates on the tech arriving. I did this about every half hour since I had been previously told she had an hour to report in. The tech finally saw me at 12am. During the ultrasound, she had constant phone notifications sounding off and distracting her from the procedure. At one point, she had me (the patient) hold the transvaginal probe inside of my body so that she could respond to her phone. I was already quite distressed due to the nature of going through a miscarriage, and this made it much worse. The cherry on top was the bill I received. $3400 (after insurance claims). $2000 of this portion was just due to having to check into the ER (to not be seen whatsoever) but just to have the ultrasound in that ER room. Just beware before coming here. The doctors and nurses are kind, but "on call" does not mean much to the techs. Also, beware that you will end up paying thousands if you step foot into their ER (even if no testing or care is done via ER services).

It was late in the evening and I was very stressed and not feeling well. The gentleman who does the intake and triage (I wish I could remember his name!) was amazing - he calmed me down and assured me I would get help. Dr. McCann and our nurse Amanda were attentive and I felt listened to. They even let me sleep in the ER for a couple of hours to be sure the meds worked. I didn't feel rushed at all.

It is required of me to receive these vaccines and it is something that should be common knowledge for anyone working in a hospital--regardless of whether you're a nurse or not. After I asked my question, whoever was working reception had zero idea what I was asking for, which is fairly alarming considering rabies is one of the most lethal viruses we have. She asked me if I was a current patient, I said no I don't have insurance. This was when she really stopped helping me. I understand prices are high, but they're going to be high regardless because of what I'm asking for. She told me to ask my school what do, to which I told her they told me to contact hospitals because they are all equipped to give these vaccines. She just kept saying she doesn't know what I was asking for and that she can't help. She then directed me to Jane Pauley, who is closed on weekends. I understand not being versed in everything that happens in a hospital, but not knowing what a pre-exposure vaccine is, and being unwilling in helping access that, is a terrible look for any healthcare facility. Please educate your staff on basic healthcare and train them to not just push people off the phone.
