Half Chicken
Nicole L.

This place is take out only and the staff is very friendly. I got half a chicken plate and a beef wrap. The chicken was AMAZING. It comes with their habibi sauce which is so flavorful along with pita and fries. The beef wrap was just okay, it wasnt that flavorful and i couldnt really taste the beef. Hoping to try something different next time, but i'll definitely be back for more chicken!

I was really hoping to like this place, but the food just clearly misses the mark. We were looking for great kabobs, but ended up with dry and under seasoned meat. Wasn't a big fan of the salad, rice or the pita either. I'm sure they could do a better job, but I will opt for a different place next time I'm craving Mediterranean.

Don't let the image of a hole in the wall place fool you - the wraps here are arguably the best in greater Boston! I got the taouk chicken special which came with grilled chicken, coleslaw, Lebanese pickles, toum (garlic paste), and fries wrapped in a toasted seasoned sesame coated pita. I'll bring dreaming of that wrap for some time...

Stopped and grabbed dinner for the family. What a hidden gem this place was. We got the Mashewe Family Feast, which was a healthy portion of chicken, beef, lamb, and kafta, the way it's all cooked over charcoal gives it an amazing flavor. That came with grilled vegetables, this amazing spicy pita, and rice I also grabbed a charcoal cooked farouj (Spatchcocked roasted chicken). It was delicious. Also comes with bread, fries, coleslaw and a salad. The fattoush salad I got was big enough for two people. Whatever house dressing they have is good, light and not overpowering at all. Nice to have a fresh, healthy take out option in the area. We will be back plenty of times I'm sure.

I went to order pizza, French fries, onion rings. The only thing that went bad, I had to wait a longer than usual time. (30minutes). My wait was only because they made a small error on my original order, and had to redo it. But, let me tell you, their service was awesome. The service was awesome, and you could tell that they were upset that they made me wait. I then requested that they make my fries and onion rings again, since they were sitting on the counter for 15 minutes. They remade them and I was happy. When I tried the pizza, an XL pepperoni with sausage, it was awesome. Loved it. Onion rings were also good. And, I'm very picky when it comes to onion rings. It was not my first choice, but I am very pleased that I ended up there. Well worth the wait. The place is always clean also. Thank you.

These people working there are beyond rude and disrespectful especially the woman answering the phones on Monday nights. They could improve by hiring people that know how to really service the customers. They need to be trained on having better manners and to resolve situations in a positive manner. I will never ever order from any of those stores again! The food used to taste much better and the service sucks. If I'm going to spend my hard earned money, I'd rather spend it on a company that values customer retention and satisfaction.

For dessert they surprised me with a birthday slice of carrot cake, which was the perfect sweet ending. The space is beautifully decorated with floral aesthetics and a bright, welcoming atmosphere. There's even a real London red phone booth outside the entrance, and we each got a cute red phone booth keychain to take home, which was such a fun touch. For drinks, my friends tried the special martinis while I had the raspberry fizz, which was super refreshing and perfect for welcoming the spring season. The food was fantastic and the service was friendly and attentive. There's also plenty of parking, which is always a plus. The only tiny con was the music overhead was a bit loud... let's just say at one point our table conversation sounded more like we were at an indoor concert than having lunch. Another small downside was the bathroom situation--there seemed to be only one or two stalls for men and women, so there was a bit of a wait Overall, it was a wonderful birthday spot!

About a year later, I found myself craving authentic Mediterranean food again, so I started searching for restaurants around New Hampshire. That's when I came across Ayasofia. As I looked through the menu and photos, everything seemed so familiar--it reminded me of the dishes I had loved at Mediterrano. The next day, my husband and I decided to drive an hour to Salem to try it out, and it was completely worth it. After speaking with the owner, we learned that Mediterrano had actually been owned by a member of his family and that they use the same recipes. It all made perfect sense! The owner was incredibly warm and welcoming, even encouraging us to return and meet his mother, who taught him these recipes. I highly recommend the hummus, baba ghanoush, salsa, and grape leaves--they're all fantastic. Be sure to order the lavash bread on the side, as it pairs perfectly with everything. For a main course, the adana lamb kebab is a must-try. Everything tastes incredibly fresh and full of flavor. I only wish I could cook like this--I'd happily eat Mediterranean food every single day!

My husband was particularly excited by how the rice was made. The grape leaves were good and the dinners came with the red cabage and salad. Delicious. I also got the Raki, because I was having Turkish food, but all the cocktails sounded very good. We did not sit in the bar, but they sounded like they were having the time of their lives in there. At one point Rod Stewart came on over the speakers and you could hear them shouting "ROD!!!" I was like, shit - Turkish food AND the regulars love Rod Stewart? Sign me up! If we lived anywhere near here, we'd be back.

This was our first visit on a Saturday evening and we were glad we made reservations as it was packed yet still maintained a great atmosphere. Our male server Burak was very attentive, professional, and very friendly. We ordered the Lavash with the mixed appetizer - tabouli, Mediterranean salsa, hummus, and Haydari. Chicken and Beef Kabobs as our entrees. Their signature cocktail Istanbul Peach Martini and a glass of Autorotas Sauvignon Blanc. As always the Lavash was amazing as was the Kabobs. I had the mixed app platter with lavash bread, cheese rolls and a cocktail (the name escapes me). The gigantic lavash and spreads were definitely the star of the show here! The bread is a perfect blend of soft and chewy with perfectly toasted bits, and the spreads were mouth watering. The haydari was our favorite, but they were all very good. We really enjoyed sitting on the outdoor patio- the cool artifacts from the old train station are a great touch. The waitress was easy to chat with and knowledgeable... I'm not certain if this is a family-run business but that was the general vibe- warm and friendly with an obvious desire to share good eats. We don't have many Mediterranean places in the area, and Anatolia really fills that void nicely. I immediately came back the next day to buy a gift card for my dad for Father's Day. I think he will really enjoy it here too!
