This was my first time there. It was also my waitresses first night. They were out of Diet Coke and they were out of lemons and out of limes. This was Saturday evening at around 5:30 PM. Ordered dinner for take out, so this review does not include table service or ambiance etc. Extremely friendly telephone and in person service when we picked up. Ordered a latte to have on the patio while we waited, didn't care for the beans they use. I ordered aribiatta, my wife the mushroom risotto and our 3rd dish was a made up meat with red sauce as requested by the M.I.L. Aribiatta was ok, a bit salty, fusili pasta looked like it was from a package. Risotto was bland and undercooked (I do understand el dente) The made up pasta with meat and red sauce got good reviews, M.I.L. wanted a non spicy sausage so the chef went down the block to buy one. Ok! I get it. My partner wanted to go here but I was first taken back by the atmosphere. She said to me as I was entering. Imagine a great food restaurant on a busy street in Italy and that was it. I was hooked. The atmosphere was fun and a great place to have a conversation and hear passionate people. Oh yeah.... the food. Outstanding! The service is warm and with just the right amount of honest friendlyness! We had an order of Olives then a meat and cheese board (Del Nord) to share. I was in Italy. My meal which I have ordered twice in the last two weeks was Pollo al Limone (a flattened chicken breast in a most beautiful butter sauce. MMMmmm. OK its my birthday this week so out for dinner again and we can walk here. We are going to try the homemade pasta or the house made nochi. I am sure I will be happy. So.... at risk of making this place to busy I am giving this restaurant a you must go there seal of approval . PS I was just about to leave Aperitivo last visit and I decided to have an Italian digestive you should most definitly try "Amaro del capo". Its on a cold chill tap. Can you believe it? We made reservations for Valentines, it was our first time there, really looking forward to it. We got in at 7:05, we're not acknowledged till 7:30, we ordered wine...20 minutes later they came to take our order, fixed menu...we ordered one of the options no Parmesan on my wife's pasta. My wife has some allergies, garlic and Parmesan , all my food was ordered normal, at 9:15 we had not received our main course , so we asked for the bill...awful experience!!!! Actually after spending 10 years in the food and beverage in industry, graduating from Hotel school in Europe, my wife spent 25 years as a cook including 19 years at the now closed CALGARY Professional Club ...this was our worst lifetime restaurant experience, and we have been to a lot of restaurants world wide. Complete amateurs! But the worst was the ding a ling muppet trying to justify it and with a smirk giggle trying to piss us off even more... This year, 2020 my wife wanted again to surprise me with her own reservation for Valentine's Day, luck would have it, that by mistake she called this place, the owner recognized our name, this was his opportunity to apologize and take the reservation, instead he started giving her an arrogant speech how it was unfair my review and was very deeming towards my wife, she was traumatized.... A friend and I stopped in for a quick bite and drinks on a Friday night and were extremely impressed! We ordered the pork sausage and olives as appetizers and split a plate of gnocchi as our main and left feeling full and satisfied. The food was excellent and portions generous! We both had cocktails and based solely on the Venetian Spritz I was drinking, I'd rate that as excellent too. The service was on point that night as well. We were seated and served very quickly (the food was fast out of the kitchen) and our server was very diligent in checking in with us. I would have easily come Aperitivo five stars for food only. Too bad the service was brutal. Always had to interrupt her socializing with other staff and what appeared to be owners or at least regulars just to get water refilled. Again, kudos to the kitchen. The food was spectacular. read more

I was here for a birthday celebration, and ordered the Margherita pizza. When the pizza arrived, I noticed there was no basil, so I flagged the waitress assuming there was a mistake and the kitchen forgot the basil. Alas, it was not a mistake. Waitress said they don't put basil on their Margherita pizzas... but it is clearly listed on the menu as having basil! Here are some recommendations: - When someone orders a Margherita pizza, tell them what they're actually getting is a plain old cheese pizza - Buy some basil plants and put them outside on your patio - Costco sells really delicious pesto in a large quantities. Put a dab of that on each slice. read more

This place is really delicious, I went with a large group and the food, drinks, and desserts are all outstanding quality! The owner is very friendly and attentive, and the staff are great too. I found the atmosphere fun and energetic (not really for a quiet dinner) so just keep that in mind based on the kind of diner you are, I really enjoyed it. read more

Had a delicious plate of meatballs & tiramisu for dessert. Nice vibe and friendly staff.

Would have like to eaten at the restaurant as we had heard good reviews and the menu looked interesting however one table was so disruptive and loud it was very uncomfortable to be in the restaurant. Unfortunately the staff and manager/owner turned a blind eye to the complaints of other diners. Too bad but we thoroughly enjoyed a meal at another restaurant close by. read more

I am incredibly disappointed with the staff and management/owners of this restaurant. I have been here twice now and the food and service was absolutely incredible, don't get me wrong, but how they deal with customer issues is beyond unacceptable. The last time I was there both myself and my boyfriend paid for the same tab unknowingly. One with card and one with cash (which is obviously difficult to trace and we understand that). The bill was quite substantial as we were there for a celebration and ordered a number of drinks with our food. Had it been $$30-40 this wouldn't be a big issue. But the bill that was double paid was $240. When the owners were informed of what happened, at first they seemed willing to look into it and try and right the wrong. Multiple servers were taking payments for our table and it was likely an honest mistake. However, when none of the servers admitted to being $240 over in their cash out one of the owners demanded I give a name of who took the payment and they would be fired immediately. Not only had we been drinking, so we honestly couldn't be 100% sure who the server was, but to expect a customer to be responsible for someone else losing their job is both unprofessional and completely ridiculous. Of course I am not going to identify someone when I could potentially choose the wrong person, and destroy their employment. I am disappointed that the server didn't come forward and I sincerely hope that just before the holidays they clearly needed that money more than we did. But I am more disappointed in how poorly one particular owner handled the situation. He insinuated that my boyfriend lied about paying the same tab and that we could potentially be trying to scam the restaurant out of that money. And then he tried to make me be the bad guy in someone losing their job and I should never have been put in that situation. As a person who has worked in the restaurant and service industry for nearly 10 YEARS that was absolutely appalling and now, despite how much I initially enjoyed this restaurant I am sad to say I will not be returning. read more
