Stunning structure and art details...every design was to honor and glorify our lord... definitely an amazing church to remember any sacrament culmination.

Attended a concert at the St. Andrew today. The architecture of this church was breathtaking. It was hard not to gawk and stare. The altar was spectacular and I wanted to go up and take a thousand pictures of every angle. Had a wonderful experience visiting this church to support my friend and his Cal State LA Masters Program summer chorale concert. They performed Dona Nobis Pacem which was so gorgeously performed. I'm so glad we made the drive up to see it and to hear it performed with the acoustics in this grand church.

    Wow...so beautiful...luv the bricks!

My last review for 2018... St. Andrew Catholic Church in Pasadena is a fantastic structure with its tall steeple, sturdy brick walls, and beautiful artwork inside. I was amazed by the intricate carvings at the top of each marble pillar, the wrought iron chandeliers, and museum quality paintings. The Christmas decorations were festive and elegant at the same time! The Gift Shop had the typical rosaries and prayer cards in Spanish for sale. I purchased a candle for $5 and lit it at the feet of Our Lady of Guadalupe for all of my family, friends, followers and everyone who reads my reviews! The parishioners are so warm and welcoming! Father is an energetic speaker and had us call out our hometowns because he knew that many of us are tourists visiting Southern California for the Rose Bowl and Parade! The lady in front of me was from Germany! After mass, each family received a free calendar full of pictures of masterpieces! Wow! Mahalo! Thanks for being a part of my last Sunday of the year! Praying for your good health and happiness always! Special thanks to my friend for inviting me to the 9:30am mass!

If you ever what my nervous system looks like well hear you go! From a very tender age this is where my family goes. This is were we celebrate everyone's death to beautiful moments of a baptism. Over all this is were my yaya goes for prayer. Lately with C19 It's been hard to get her a priest to visit for confessions. My grandmother no longer can walk and they have made special accommodations. I am absolutely grateful they value their senior citizens. Many blessings and see you soon! Love you! Wheel friendly! Senior citizen friendly. Wild ate heart friendly.

This is one of the most beautiful churches in the LA area. The architecture with its high ceiling and the design of the altar is amazing. Add in the marble columns and the holy statues spread out throughout the church, you can see why this church is so beautiful. I attended a New Years Day mass here and was lucky to have the mass conducted by a bishop with the help of the priests. The homilies were translated in both English and Spanish.

My faith has become stronger coming here...I see some negative comments about things that really don't matter...we should be focusing on who is present within the church... Jesus

Ask the Community - St. Andrew Catholic Church

Where is the parking lot located or where is suggested to park?

The parish has a large parking lot kitty corner from the church. Entrance is on Raymond Avenue.

Do they do a Latin mass?

If you mean the Traditional Latin Mass (Tridentine), then, no. We celebrate the Ordinary Form of Mass but with all Latin chant parts of the Mass.

Does this church allow Marchi to play at your wedding ceremony?

All of our music is provided by our own musicians.

Does this Church offer the Apostolic Mass, or is it strictly Novus Ordo? Edit: By “Apostolic Mass” I…

We celebrate the Holy Mass of the approved rite in the Roman Rite of the Catholic Church.

Is there a mass on Saturday and at what time?

Looking for a Church where you feel welcomed from the moment you get into the parking lot?…read more Searching for a Spiritual Family that accepts you and meets you where you are? Lake Ave Church is a large congregation with a family feel. There are lots of options and ministries to meet your needs: children, teens, young adults, parents, grandparents, seniors, missions, music, etc. They have a ministry for brothers and sisters with different abilities, for those who went through divorce and for those going through illnesses... They support partnered projects to fight human trafficking, homelessness and all those affected by the recent fires. This Church is committed to open the doors to the most in need and serve like Jesus did. English, Spanish and Mandarin groups are available. Come to the service as you are, and find brothers and sisters who are willing to walk with you in this journey. Jesus is the center of worship, and the Word is shared in a way that invites deep reflection and the Holy Spirit's revelation. The Team of Pastors complement each other with their gifts to care, encourage and teach the congregation with transparency and genuine love that is felt in tangible ways. For me, it was the offering to pray for me, supporting me with therapy through partnered professional counseling, welcoming my daughter to serve with me because I didn't have childcare at home, equipping me with deep truths through solid retreats and Bible study, and that biweekly call I receive from a Pastor to check in with me. This has been a healing and growing place where God is surrounding me and my family with love and challenging me to live with the cross and with Jesus's Joy and Hope everyday. Life is certainly not an easy journey, but with God and a Church Family like Lake Ave Church, I feel blessed along the way and embraced with prayers when I go through hardships. If God is talking to you and you don't know where to start, come join Lake Ave Church on Sunday at 9.30am (any weekend) or Wednesday at 6.30pm (beginning 1/14/2026) and let God begin shining His light in you. Do not be intimidated by the size of the Church. Any and all staff are here for you. Just feel free to approach one (any, from the person guiding you at the parking lot to the people you see greeting or in the Welcome Center) and mention your needs. Lake Ave Church is passionate above connecting you to a community, and most importantly, to Jesus, who brings Peace and Healing to your Life!

I attended Vintage Church Pasadena for about a year and a half, starting in January 2025. I've been…read morea Christian for over 18 years, and having moved across the United States a few times, I've had the chance to be involved in, volunteer for, and actively participate in several different churches in each city I've lived in. My experience with Vintage Church Pasadena was, for the most part, a normal and decent one: I attended the newcomers' breakfast, joined multiple events including a young adults' Bible study, and found most of the leadership, volunteers, and congregants to be genuinely kind people. It's a normal church, with the normal mix of good and less-good people you'd find anywhere. During the World Cup this past June, the church's worship pastor created a group chat for members interested in following the tournament and hosting watch parties. I joined the chat but rarely participated beyond occasional emoji reactions, and never attended a watch party in person since I didn't know him well. Partway through the tournament, he messaged me directly, out of nowhere, with a noticeably curt tone, asking whether I actually attended the church and which service I went to. When I answered warmly and even mentioned enjoying a recent Bible study, he simply stopped responding. The chat itself had a lot of good-natured sports banter back and forth, which I want to be clear I had no issue with. I was right there in the mix, teasing back just as much, and everyone seemed to be enjoying it, myself included. That changed after the Argentina-England semifinal. I posted a picture of a soccer play from the match. Without warning or explanation, the worship pastor deleted my post and removed me from the group chat entirely, with no conversation and no reason given. To his credit, he also deleted a video another member had posted of Argentine fans celebrating, so his censorship wasn't aimed at me personally, it was aimed at any pro-Argentina content, regardless of who posted it. But I was the only person removed from the group altogether, despite not being the one who escalated anything. Another member of that chat, who was following the exchange and wasn't even on my side of the banter (he also didn't want Argentina to win), told me afterward that he thought the pastor's reaction was "a bit harsh." I mention this only because it wasn't just my own perception. I reported the incident to a staff member, via email, so it could be addressed by leadership. She later called me and we spoke over the phone for about 20 minutes, and to her credit, she listened closely and asked thoughtful questions to understand the full picture; she seemed genuinely taken aback by how the pastor had handled it. That call was on a Thursday, and as of writing this, two weeks later, I haven't received any follow-up. Also, no one else on the group chat complained about me, except for the worship pastor that was put in charge of it (this same leader I spoke with on the phone to report the incident confirmed it). For context, this will be my very first 1-star review for a church, and 5th 1-star review for any business as a whole, out of more than 480 reviews I've written in over 7 years of regularly reviewing businesses and places across SoCal. I don't do this lightly. Please feel free to see all of my other reviews on this platform. I'm the furthest thing from a serial complainer and just basic human decency gets you 5 stars from me. I also want to be clear that I didn't rush to write this. I reported the incident internally first and genuinely intended to let it be handled through proper channels rather than posting anything public. It has now been two weeks and I still haven't heard back from the church. If that changes, I'll update this review accordingly. UPDATE: Added the picture in question that got me kicked out of the church groupchat (Messi with 3 English defenders). Adding some extra context: They did reach back 3 weeks after I had reported the incident, mostly because they saw this review go public and wanted to "put out the fire" so to speak. The whole time I felt like they were more concerned with protecting the image of the church, by getting me to delete this review, rather than actually bringing correction to the leader in question. Even their "response" to this review reflects that mentality, by fabricating that lie on the spot that I was removed supposedly "... after multiple complaints were made about you by other members of the group." A church that fails to hold their own leaders accountable, especially when said leader is power tripping, is not a church that any healthy and mature Christian should want to be a part of. Anyways, I'll close this by leaving an excerpt from my last email to them: "Football isn't what gives my life meaning and I take it just as a hobby, regardless of who wins or loses. My goal is to make new connections and new friends. It would be great for Tom to approach it the same way."
