Well no one hopes to visit a hospital far from home but was glad we found St Anne. I became ill at the end of a long cruise & went to their emergency room where I was admitted within a couple hours. Everyone I dealt with really seemed to care about what they were doing. They were not just caring and professional but also actually listened and responded to my concerns. They all made my stay that much easier, making me feel like a person, not just a number. At shift changes the old nurse came to your room with the new nurse to introduce them. The head nurses made a point of coming to my room also introduce themselves & ask if i needed anything. My attending physician Dr William Kim was extremely caring. May 19, 2026 day #7 here... Over the last few years my health hasn't been good and 2 years ago I came here for 15 days, before having to be sent to St Joseph in Tacoma for St Anne's didnt have the right doctor here to get my next procedure in my recovery.... But i felt St Anne's saved my life and was very caring staff and will always be grateful to them ... I was lucky, between doctors, nurses and staff, I found some caring people... Even now, same thing, awesome people here ! My only complaint is, the beef in their food, everything else is eatable but the BEEF, I think it came out of a can ? Vegetable are over cooked, pasta is the same, chicken is eatable, its the BEEF that we all question !!! But thats my only complaint about this place ... Horrible, scary ER. They are careless, rude, dismissive, and show no empathy. They falsify records. They don't read your chart and get facts wrong. They often say they sent you home with meds, but give you nothing for pain or nausea. I'm sure they bill for the ghost meds. They mishandle Medicare. If you are an older person, watch out! read more

I had a couple emergencys and had a gall bladder removed so I've been here many times . I would not be alive without St Anne Hospital. They have an excellent emergency staff. The Nurses and Doctors work very HARD to ensure your survival! I can't emphasize that last statement enough! Quality care throughout. When I had my gallbladder removed I walked into a surgery with an entire team like 8-10 people. I love St Anne's hospital I know some have rather negative views of St. Anne's but usually it's a control issue of those people. When I first went there I did too BUT I was ALIVE! And my lungs seriously were filling with fluid St Anne staff SAVED my LIFE! And so I had to totally reconsider how I looked at things. read more

While I see a handful of negative reviews for this hospital- I have to say that I had a completely different experience. I had to go to the ER yesterday due to shortness of breath, yadda yadda. It was nothing, but better safe than sorry I guess. The ER was disorganized and it was clearly understaffed- BUT, the people who worked there were kind, helpful and smart. In my opinion, if the staff can at least make a patient smile despite being under duress, that's a good hospital. It took a long time to get my results, but I was checked on and treated like a person- not a burden. Shout out to Laura (I think this was her name- doctor with short blonde hair!) and Steve who were keeping the ED held down! Also- as a girly with anxiety- I wasn't brushed off ONCE as "oh it's just cramps" or "you're just anxious"- which I know is huge for a lot of people! read more

This ER was a nightmare. My husband waited forever in a disorganized environment, with very little privacy, and no one seemed to know what they were doing. The staff was careless and dismissive, and the whole experience felt like a complete waste of time and energy. To make matters worse, after being diagnosed with bronchitis, he was treated like a drug seeker simply for asking about codeine cough medicine. I had a terrible experience here several months ago at the emergency room. What really bothers me is that I wrote a detailed letter to voice my concerns and let them know I would not pay the bill due to the poor quality of care that I received, and they still will not work with me. I got a long letter of apologies for the way I was mistreated and they called it 'a resolution'. However they still expect me to pay my bill, as if apologies are a replacement for money. I understand that everyone has bad days, but this doctor very casually and ambivalently misdiagnosed me in a serious health crisis. I went there for shortness of breath and chest pain. They told me to wait 3 hours for a chest X-ray. Michelle was very rude and neglect to my care needs. I could've died due to having the RSV infection. I don't recommend. They are very rude and unprofessional. They lack humanity , understanding and patience. This hospital has saved my life 2 times and saved my dad's life 1 time. I am a survivor of breast cancer when I was 40 years old. Surgery, chemo and radiation. Then 4 years ago, chronic heart failure, my lungs had filled up with fluid and I could not breathe. Also, 3 of my 4 children were born at this hospital, by C-section. As long as I live in this area, I will always go to St. Anne's. Valley General fouled up a procedure on my dad, almost killing him. St Anne's saved his life, correcting what Valley did. building is old, rooms are worm out, all patients rooms smells. its a pure luck whether the drs and the nurses are going to be nice and knowledgeable or rude and have no idea what they are talking about. they over medicated my dad and kept saying he is not responsive and they missed an infection that their labs culture didn't show. When I asked for him to be transferred their hospitalist called the other team and yelled at them. on the day of transfer no one called to tell me and I figured by pure coincidence that my dad actually transferred when I called his cell and the nurse at the other hospital called. if you care for your loved ones stay away from this hospita. read more

Fraudsters. God awful treatment of their patients. Heard them carrying on and talking crap about the patient in the next room from me for asking them for a lot of help, when they would refuse to actually help them. Left me in a room for eight hours. Offered no food or meds. Ambulance called them, specifically, and declared my circumstances, and the hospital told ambulance to bring me in for treatment. They did nothing. Didn't even look at the complaint site but chalked up diagnosis on their discharge paper. Blatant fraudsters and endangerment. Requested a form confirming refusal to provide care. They promptly responded by calling security to remove me. I cantt walk and they never offered or provided any way for me to leave the room. I guess they expected me to crawl or slug myself out of their way...? To emphasize, this is regarding the ER section of the hospital... I've come here twice with my son being extremely sick. First time we came here he was vomiting every 20 minutes or so, we had sat in the er for about 4-5 hours without seeing a doctor because the wait was so long. Stay away from this ER! Unfortunately, we had to bring our young diabetic niece in for medical attention and ended up waiting around 6 hours to just even get a room. She ended up needing a surgical procedure. The front staff seems to lack compassion, maybe overworked? Who knows, but they will just keep putting you off if you ask for an update or any status on the long waits. They'll even say they'll tell the nurse, but nothing will come of it. You're basically a nuisance to them. At some point, some random medical assistant guy very rudely announced to everyone in the ER waiting area that unless you were dying, you'd be waiting a while. It lacked empathy and the guy seemed to be on some power trip, as if people in the ER were there for fun. Even some of the staff agreed that he didn't "word it correctly". Understatement of the year. Who's running this place and training these people? We've had decent experiences years ago when this was Highline hospital, but maybe the new St Anne rename is indicative of new terrible management. I don't know if it's mismanagement or poor organization and I'm sure the staff are trying, but truly a miserable, pitiful experience. I wish I could give zero stars. I spent five hours here the other night. I'd been awake for 22 hours when I left. I hadn't taken my meds. I was almost late for an appointment with my primary care physician after leaving. The only reason I came back here was because it's the closest hospital to my house. It's three times the distance to any other 24 hour facility. (And they all have pretty poor reviews.) The only reason it didn't take longer was because I asked to speak to a hospital administrator after sitting in the ER waiting room for four hours. We'd been there long enough for a staff rotation and the lady at the front desk said it would probably be two more hours before we'd be taken back at that point. To be fair, triage occurred fairly rapidly after we arrived. And they had done a blood draw and urine sample and running labs during the four hours we were sitting in the waiting room. I was however told when we finally got taken back to a chair with a curtain around it that the labs had been completed 45 minutes prior. The administrator I spoke to was very pleasant. But I also got the feeling that it was in a placating manner. The pleasantry was too exaggerated. Maybe that's just me being annoyed and sleep deprived. I was also told that all the beds in the hospital were taken and that it was affecting the ER, that it's happening 'everywhere', and that the entire industry is suffering. Honestly, I'm trying very hard to have more sympathy to that end. But my previous experiences here, coupled with several fun conference calls with their billing department and my insurance after those visits, make it really hard to do so. The chairs are pretty uncomfortable. The vending machine was broken. The TV was playing the Kardashians and that made me want to leave on principle. I wish they were better at communicating status. I am much more patient when I have an ETA that updates. But this place is purgatory. I also realize that people get prioritized by need in the ER, but it's super annoying watching people come in after you, get treated, and leave before you even leave the waiting room. Especially when you can hear the nurse tell them they just have the flu. I'd only been admitted to this hospital once before when I had chest pains and ended up having stents placed. They had to keep me for 24 hours after that. I was placed into a room with someone that was apparently being watched because they were indicated as a danger to themselves and others. I picked this up from the orderly that was in the room the whole time and the conversations I could overhear. That was unpleasant. Also, the food is SUPER BAD. Terribad? I went in for a head injury. They kept me there all night and gave me tests that I did not consent to. Before stapling my literal head they asked what my pain level was and did NOTHING. They gave me 5 pages of how to sustain from sex and half a page of how to care for my staples in my head. My injury was not related to anyone who could knock me up. It was a slippery bathroom floor. I hate this place. I will take an Uber to somewhere else and die in the roadside instead of this hot Catholic mess. read more

Had visit to ER for treatment after fall. From the moment I entered ER til ui left I was treated with dignity and respect. All of the were respectful of each other and helped each other out. Dr Lee and Andrea were so awesome! The quality of care was awesome. No unnecessary treatment or diagnostics. I was in and out in less than 1.5 hours. The ER was very clean. wait times were long, communication was horrible, care was mediocre. my dad first went to the ER, eventually (9 hours later) was admitted for gallbladder surgery. Didn't see surgeon or any Dr the next day until about 3 hours before surgery time which was 9pm. The ER staff were absolutely horrendous. Two of the staff, a young man at the ER desk signing people in, and a young nurse were both so indescribably rude and downright cruel. Instead of answering questions politely, they sounded resentful and genuinely so, so rude. I have never had an experience like this at any hospital and I am still dumbfounded that people like this keep their jobs when they are so incredibly unprofessional to those they are supposed to be helping. Not only that, but when the young female nurse signed me in, she kept continuously downplaying all of the symptoms I tried to give her, saying that I couldn't feel my hands because I was "wearing a lot of clothes" (??? I was wearing a small sweatshirt and pants??) I told her I couldn't breathe, I felt like I was going to pass out if I tried to stand up, felt too weak to walk, and she wrote down that I was more or less completely fine because my vitals weren't bad. Subsequently, they had me sit in this ER for 3+ hours while patient after patient went before me (and it wasn't that all of these people who walked in after me were sicker than I was and thus put ahead of me, many of them looked and acted completely fine), until I finally gave up and left so I could go lay down on the floor of the airport - that was how terrible it was, I would rather wait, sick as a dog, for my flight for 12 hours at a cold, busy airport than suffer through those horrendous people belittling me, ignoring obvious significant symptoms, put patient after patient ahead of me because the young female nurse seemed to have decided she did not like me. I was there last night because I couldn't walk and have a connective tissue disorder, the second the doctor saw me he treated me like I was there seeking drugs . He wouldn't get me images even though I asked several times, after I finally got him to say yes he canceled it with no warning discharged me without telling me and wheeled me into the waiting room still unable to walk , at 4:00 a.m. with no way to get home . the treatment I received was belittling and made everything so much worse, I was already embarrassed I had to call an ambulance in the first place, I don't think I'll be doing that any time soon after this. Today I got a 'lovely' FB reminder of what garbage Highline Hospital, and CHI Franciscan, and their health 'care', is...on top of this; I Recently found the letter they sent me when this all went down, stating that it was not deemed an "emergent situation"...wonder why so many people die in their care?! ANY MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL should KNOW WITHOUT A DOUBT, that an Ectopic Pregnancy AKA "Tubal" is, in fact, very much, a LIFE THREATENING CONDITION!!!! Sad, to have a hospital less than a thousand feet from your home, but wouldn't take anyone whose life you value, there to receive care, barring no other options....My dad's most recent experience was far from being any better...I had to remove a urine filled laundry bag out of the room myself, after bringing it to the attention of the nurse, due to the noxious fumes, not to mention the overflowing garbage can filled with god knows what kind of biohazardous materials...and worst of all (as if it could be any worse), they did not keep his Blood Pressure monitored consistently, despite knowing he has AFib, and was fighting Sepsis, and healing from Staph and Surgery, just days earlier; to the point that I had to go home and bring MY OWN DAMN CUFF, and MONITOR IT MYSELF!!! I work with St. Anne's professionally and personally, I think they do a fantastic job! As a customer, the staff is always kind, caring and helpful. Cleanliness appears to be a priority as they are always clean and inviting. Professionally, I work with St. Anne's as a Hospice Liaison. The Social Workers/Discharge Planners are always on point and helpful with assisting to facilitate anything that may be needed. Can you leave 0 stars? This place sucks. Always had and always will. You can rebrand all day long. The locals know it's still Highline AKA Flatline. I would rather go to a veterinarian clinic to seek medical care for myself and my family than ever cross through the doors of this butcher hospital. They don't care, you could be bleeding out on the floor and they would step over you to go get their next cup of coffee or take their next break. I was there with my sister last year she had broken a finger and this gentleman had walked in and he was having problems breathing. Now keep in mind I'm waiting in line waiting to do the all important covid testing. This gentleman walks in he's having a hard time breathing there's, staff all over the place but I'm the one that actually turned around and looked at him and said are you OK? At which time he told me I'm having a very hard time breathing and I just had heart surgery a few months ago and it feels like somebody is sitting on my chest I think I'm having another heart attack. Well, of course, me being the person I am I walk up to the nearest nurse I'm like I think this guy needs some help. The look on this woman's face. I will never forget it as long as I live. I was really disturbing her. She is a nurse she takes an oath to help people and I and this gentleman actually felt like we were bothering her. The tone she took with this poor guy as he's sitting there thinking he's dying I was astounded quite frankly.... just astounded. Look lady if you don't want to be a nurse anymore then you need to find another job because you're supposed to be caring and compassionate and the way you were treating him was causing me to have anxiety. You would have thought they would have taken this man back immediately and put him on a heart monitor I mean the man just had open heart surgery maybe a few months before, oh God no they made a huge production out of how he wasn't checked in and that wasn't the appropriate protocol and et cetera et cetera et cetera. Poor guy not sure if he ever made it back to be evaluated. So today my son went was at three gum and had a mishap. He ended up getting a gash on his forehead that needed a stitch or 2. The minute I found out that my almost 30 year old son was sitting in that waiting room at Flatline I told him get up and leave. Come to my house and I will take you to another hospital. Don't even tell them you are leaving just to. Long story short we went to Swedish. He was treated right away. And everything's good and hes all right and I feel much better.. Speaking of better Saint Anne's highline flatline whatever you want to call yourself you all need to do better. Keep in mind I've lived here my entire life I am a Burien girl. I went to the St. Anne's ER with a broken leg. I waited 4 hours to be seen as it was very crowded. After a few hours I asked several times for help to the bathroom; another patient even offered to help me, but finally a nurse or aide came to help. When the surgeon examined me he was surprised that I still had the splint placed by the ambulance crew. The surgeon was very good; since my injury was not his specialty, he had me transferred to St. Joseph's in Tacoma, where I got excellent care. Staff at St. Anne's tries hard but I feel like they're overwhelmed with the number of patients. read more

The entire experience was perfect. Flawless The staff is amazing and everyone was helpful . CHI Franciscan (St. Anne) is a fraud by claiming "compassionate and respectful" care. It doesn't take more than 5min in the ER waiting room to see that it's not living this mission. Absolutely horrible, irresponsible care by mediocre staff. 3-hr wait with NO promise of being seen, and if the (triage and charge nurse) were any indication of care once actually inside, I would be frightened. I was in so much pain I ended up leaving to go to nearby urgent care (which provided better care). The security was the only compassionate person in the ER. The star is for the security. Disgusting waiting room with trash on tables and floors. Patients (including me) in clear distress and being ignored or chastised when asking for help or updates. Epic system down, everything manual and that was their canned excuse for poor service. This is the type of ER where it's easy to observe people suffering and dying in the waiting room neglected. I've been hospitalized here 4 times this year so i have multiple experiences to draw upon. The building maintenance is basically abandoned. The patient rooms often have no heating control, the temp units dont work which means a patient is suffering ice cold or unbearably hot room. If you have a fever this causes suffering. Also the showers the safety bars are pulling off the walls in some rooms. Once I attempted to use a bar and it came off the wall. I can only imagine like all the other downgrades to care since joining Franciscan are corporate budget cuts. Such as the horrendous food service that claims to be homemade but is no longer - the prepare and cook onsite was done away with in lieu of bagged frozen foods and some meals which are downright disgusting. They should make the executives eat it. Seriously. Make the executives eat that awful food and ask them if they are proud of serving that to patients. No other hospital locally is serving this low quality microwaved food. The kitchen staff referring to patient service literally said to me "those days are over" in reference to seeing patients are happy with their food and get what they need. Engineering doesn't respond the tickets and the nursing staff are helpless how to get a response. Offering a patient ice packs and heated blankets to compensate for non-working temperature control is ridiculous and putting them in the position of that means the maintenance org is indifferent and perhaps not even on the rader as to how it affects patient care. Putting a patient with 102 103 fever into a chilling or sweating room is irresponsible. Last, where is the patient feedback team in all of this. Missing in action. When the facility poor experience out-weighs the care and makes patients think twice about going to St Ann it is time to get real. read more
