Went to the ER - no wait time, swift treatment, kind and friendly staff. Best ER experience I've ever had.

What has happened to the medical profession?!! Nurses and doctors are poorly trained in medicine and lack compassion for patients and their families. I don't understand why they went to medical/nursing school if they don't like people?!! I expected better at a small hospital such as this but alas I learned it's owned by Westchester Medical Center -which is the worst hospital run by clueless students!!! I was taken to Emergency Room after knee surgery. I found that everyone in the department was attentive and polite. Amanda went above and beyond to make me comfortable while we were waiting for xray. yes, there was a wait but that is to be expected. Amanda kept checking in with me and brought me extra blankets and water. She made me feel like I was important and she cared. this was very important to me at the time. This hospital is great for what it is. A small community hospital. For the most part, the staff is extremely friendly, respectful, etc. The only thing they need to get an order is their billing department. No matter how many times I submit my insurance card, I get Bill after Bill after Bill and I have spoken to the department several times and it was supposed to be resolved, still hasn't been and I'm not just talking one Bill. Someone in there is not doing their job correctly. Otherwise, for minor issues I highly recommend. read more

Went as emergency for broken ankle. The care I received was wonderful. From the er to my surgery I can't say enough about the great care I had. Everyone there were kind and caring glad I was taken there. Can't say enough. read more

The ER doctor should NOT be a doctor. He was rude, unprofessional and flat out rude to myself and 8 year old son who broke his leg. The staff was inattentive and rude. No one was giving us updates or information on next steps. My son laid in excruciating pain for over 6 hours until I demanded something for pain. It took over 5 hours for the Dr. to come in and that was only because I was getting super pissed off. It also took over 5 hours to get radiology results. He was extremely rude and mean to myself and son. I asked for them to request an ambulance to transfer us to another ER so my son could be treated. They refused. I couldn't move him myself because of the level of pain he was in. They didn't even offer an ice pack! Once the results were back the Dr. "it's broken in 2 places". I asked him how severe....he ignored me...I again asked if we could be transported to another facility....he ignored me. He needed my son to straighten his leg to put a temporary cast on. My son was screaming in pain and was refusing to straighten his leg because of the pain. The Dr. got further pissed off and kept walking in and out of the bay visibly pissed at us. Even the nurses were taken back by his disgusting behavior. After we were discharged at 130am ( we arrived at 530pm) my son cried in pain all night long. I took him to a proper facility in the morning and was told the break was severe and he should have been transferred from the Ear to another facility with a pediatric orthopedic surgeon as it was determined he needed surgery. I was also told the temporary cast the put on was not the correct one for where his breaks were. It was honestly the worst experience I have ever had with a medical facility. People were pulling out IV's and walking out of the ER to leave. Patients were roaming around all over the ward. In and out of the nurses station....Avoid this place at all costs. read more

Care quality is top notch. Meals are pretty good. However Administration leaves me flat. First off my blood sugar reading were sky high almost every day BUT they rarely if ever sdjusted my insulin to a higher scale. it's as if they think 3 units is enough to fix 300 reading on everyone - here's a clue: it isn't. every shift had a different scale. Also the person looking for rehabs does not have a lot of patience and will blow up if any changes- Granted my insurance (Humana) sucks azz so can't really blame her. read more

Brought my toddler in there the other night for bad wheezing & puking. Was told she's happy and healthy. As I'm leaving the er dr said " potential foreign body " but an x-ray and mri is not appropriate right now and to bring it up with her pediatrician. My baby has a bad lung infection and has gotten worse since leaving the hospital that was supposed to help me. This is also the same hospital over the summer who missed the hole in my spine. Terrible hospital I would rather be seen by aliens than go there. Never again. read more

ER was good. However Once admitted the nightmare begins. Doctors show up once a day if your lucky and when they do they are rude. They use a service for medical devices that delivered a needed item for discharge 14 hours after called for. When it arrived it was missing the carry bag needed for mobility. Then discharge happens without explanation of the device usage. More importantly no explanation of how to use the prescription medicine which required sub cutaneous injections for a patient who has never done self injection. If that's not bad and dangerous enough the prescribing physician didn't order any syringes. When called by the pharmacist the explanation was "they thought the patient had them at home". You know the same patient that had never used syringes before. Unreal. Stay away. This hospital has gone downhill. Very sad. read more

Great small community Hospital with caring staff and competent physicians. The wait is usually short compared to other area hospitals. The Doctors seem to treat patients as persons not numbers. I recommend this hospital if you need medical attention. read more

I travel approx. 1 1/2 hrs to go to St Anthonys. I have been to many hospitals and I can say without absolute certainty that the staff is far more qualified and very attentive to their patients. They were the only ones who diagnosed me correctly out of 3 others hospitals and 4 doctors. Emergency rooms are all chaos, however at St Anthonys they are kind, caring and can usually get you processed quickly to get care. The doctors that work at St Anthonys were are exceptional. During a week long stay, every nurse and nurse assistant were the kindest, caring people. I would not have wanted to been anywhere else. They also follow up with you weeks later to check on you. This is the one hospital that I truly believe they care about you as a person and not a $ sign. I have had a surgery here and another one in a week and I am so grateful to have this hospital to go to. read more

I had worst experience here while I was in labor at this hospital. The nurses verbally abused me horrendously when I arrived at the hospital at 8cm. They hammered me with questions for the next thirty minutes while I'm in labor asking me why did I come to their hospital because they had no knowledge of my arrival. They told me that it was no doctor present since they wasn't anticipating my arrival and they hope I don't have the baby because they don't get paid enough as a nurse to deliver a baby. They asked me what number kid was this and I answered third. They then said why am I making all this noise if this is my third child . They continued to say so much other things that i can write a book and at one point I stopped crying out in pain to ask them what did I do to them so wrong to treat me so bad ?Before I arrived the ems worker told me that they were going to be nasty to me. It's obvious that they have a history of this behavior. I would suggest no one ever have their baby there read more

I would highly recommend this hospital. I was recently admitted for hip replacement surgery by Dr John Juliano. I arrived Tuesday afternoon for surgery and released Friday afternoon. Dr Juliano has a great bedside manner and made me feel very comfortable. The nursing staff was very courteous and knowledgeable. Ken was my night nurse,and Diana and her assistant Girlie made my stay most pleasurable. In all , a great experience. I will use this hospital for any further surgery. read more

I had to bring my grandfather in for testing. Theres' a reason that the place is nicknamed St Agony's. The girl processing the admmission, was unbelievably rude and tried to rush thru the process and was as uncaring as a human could be like she was being timed in a race. She also STUNK of cigarettes. Dee or Diane was what I could make out on the badge. The hospital could surely do without an employee such as her. Take note Bon Secours....on the staff you use as the first person being seen in the hospital. FIRST IMPRESSIONS are ever lasting. read more

I went to St. Anthony's at midnight with my friend and her 18 month old child,who had an injury to the back of the throat due to a pen( so sad but these things happen)..... when we arrived my friend's kid was crying for about an hour now... The first two women who greeted us (using greeted for a lack of a better word) were rude, nasty and had absolutely no compassion for the situation my friend was in.... I'm not too sure if it's protocol to stand there with your hand on your hip and resting bitch face waiting for the registration to finish before she even looked at the screaming kid. Finally the doctor came!!! Yea right.. First of all there was a huge langue barrier we had to tell the doctor 3 time her kids name.. We couldn't understand anything he was saying and resting Bitch face didn't help once to translate just stood there like we interrupted a midnight romance. OMG, next they laid the child down flat on the back and the baby started choking on saliva that was really thick form the hours of crying... Thank god my friend was right there and said my child's choking the doctors like pick her up all urgent.. Then they put the back of the bed up and when the doctor finally tried to open the baby's mouth he broke the stick in the kids mouth and didn't even grab it out, my friend had to..... The experience we had was very sad, frustrating and most of all DISAPPOINTING.. I thought nurses went to school to become a nurse because they are passionate about their work and compassionate to their patients. If i was the supervisor of the nurse we had, she would be release immediately.... If and god forbid something ever happened to my children or anyone else's for that matter, I will for sure definitively not be going to St. Anthony's in Warwick, NY emergency room :( read more
