At a very practical level, the hours are great and work very well with our work schedules. The teachers are very approachable and have been open to working with me with any concern I have had about my child. I love the Nurtury's focus on building independence and practical life skills- I see my son learning to do things on his own like feeding himself and cleaning up after himself. They have added new and fun things like spirit weeks, celebrating traditions from different cultures and religions and music jams. The communication has been excellent since there has been a new director. We are kept up to date with changes and how these changes are being addressed. In addition, weekly and monthly newsletters are sent out.

As working parents, we were eager to find the best care for her during the day. (Due to Covid, finding in-home care was challenging, so we had to look for daycares.) After extensive research- we enrolled our daughter here and could not be more pleased that we did! The hours are amazing and flexible. The teachers are an absolute joy and it is obvious how much they love each child. We get pictures throughout the day, and they also let us know which skills they are focusing on during their daily activities. We have an app that allows us to communicate with the teachers. This is where we can request they focus on a specific developmental need (more tummy time, etc), and inform them of anything they should be aware of (like teething or a rough night sleeping). No matter what time of day we pick our daughter up, we always are thrilled with what we see when we peek through the door. It is also great seeing every teacher in the school greet our daughter by name even if she is not in their classroom specifically.

Leah, the director, and the whole team at KA made her adjustment incredibly smooth. Our daughter loved all the teachers and staff at the facility, which always felt well-kept, clean, and airy. The daily reports and photos are great, and as parents we always felt informed through emails, newsletters, and phone calls. At pick-up time, teachers would always take a minute to talk about how the day went. Everyone is so kind. The large parking lot is a bonus. There's no stressing about traffic or double-parking at the start or end of the day. We took our daughter out after five months but only because of lots of family engagements that would've kept her out anyway. We wouldn't hesitate to go back in the future.

Since enrolling our son in July 2019, we have been provided nothing short of high quality child care by a supportive, compassionate, and safety-minded staff and leadership team. We were present during the transition to the current web/app-based communication and documentation tool. It has provided us with a more than adequate level of security and connectivity with the daycare. Since the roll-out of the system last year, it was made clear that it was the parents' responsibility to check-in children on arrival. To think that a teacher should take the extra time - away from the other kids in class - to make up for your own irresponsible mismanagement of the platform is selfish and ridiculous. I, for one, am completely satisfied that the teachers prioritize direct care of the children over task-saturation within an online recording tool. The app-based tool has also provided parents with secure, direct access through a bluetooth-enabled unlocking system. Anyone that would consider providing access to this app to an unauthorized person is a security risk, and I think we are a safer community with this person gone. When I exit the facility, I either wait for someone entering to do so with their own access or I confirm with the staff at the front desk that the person belongs here before opening the door. I hope that everyone would challenge me in the same way when I enter! We are a community of families and should each have a vested interest in the safety of our children that supercedes an ease-of-access mindset. Since the beginning of the COVID-19 health crisis, the leadership at Discovery Village has been completely transparent about the challenges of both managing a business and meeting the demands of working parents in this environment. The center quickly adapted to the new normal by implementing more than the State-required sanitation protocols and providing regular updates to families. We suspended our enrollment in late March and returned to the village in May and have had ZERO complications. The idea that Discovery Village is, was, or has been lax about their cleaning and COVID protocol mandates is a baseless and belligerent accusation. This team is professional to the core! I would be remiss to not mention that our son absolutely loves his teachers at Discovery Village. He is happy as can be every day we pick him up and his learning and curiosity is clearly nurtured. I recommend this center to anyone looking for high quality care by a team that is genuinely invested in the well-being and development of your child. Thank you for all that you do.

When we're talking about two year olds, the main thing is that your child is cared for and you felt comfortable leaving them there. This we certainly did. - This Children's Corner provided meals, which was a huge convenience. - For the area, the cost was quite good. This was considerably cheaper than the two local Bright Horizons and a local Montessori. Cons: - First, as mentioned by one of the other reviewers, age appropriateness of the curriculum was a significant issue. To be clear, the teachers are not certified teachers, and don't really know what the children should be learning. We were rather disturbed to see our child, not three years old yet, being given worksheets intended for children 4-5 years old. This is where the center leadership and the corporate office could have made a difference. - Parking was a problem. Though the building had spaces designated for Children's Corner pickup and dropoff, people not coming there would repeatedly park in those spaces. The Department of Labor in particular attracted bad actors who would park in those spaces. Children's Corner staff did what they could do, leaving large stickers on violators' cars, but the problem was that the Children's Corner corporate office appeared to do nothing, and the office complex management too didn't take the problem seriously enough. The problem was particularly acute at pickup time after 4P, when many times we arrived to find no spaces available in the designated area. The telltale sign of parking cheaters was, of course, the absence of child car seats, which are required for any child who'd be attending the daycare, and everyday there'd be several such cars parked for extended periods. Lastly, I want to address the other two reviews currently posted here. If you eventually got your money back, you should definitely remove your review. If you didn't, did you read the contract closely? If you don't provide proper notice, the contract states they hold on to the deposit. Think about it -- the daycare is required to maintain certain teacher/child ratios, and your child's enrollment may affect staffing levels. This in turn directly affects people's livelihoods, so I think it's fair they ask for proper notice. if you didn't read the contract and didn't provide adequate notice, you should remove your 1 star review, which is rather unfair.
