Awful Spa Experience. I highly recommend that you NOT go here…read more My daughter treated me to spa package for my birthday and Mother's day that included a body scrub, massage, facial, and tea, which we did together. Unfortunately, the wet body scrub in a cold room left the table sheets damp, cold and very uncomfortable for my massage on the same table. The masseuse was reluctant to turn on an air heater at my request since it would make her "dizzy" since she was physically active. She finally turned on a room heater, but I was still very cold during my massage from the wet, cold sheets. Midway through the massage, the masseuse got the manager, and I waited outside the room while they put dry sheets on the table. However, very little time was left of the massage and the room was still cold (the heater had been turned off and I had to ask for it to be turned on again), so I never got the relaxing massage I was hoping for. Both times that I got on the table, the masseuse did not line me up straight and centered on the table. She also left a hot stone next to my arm which startled me and was quite hot. Meanwhile, the background music kept skipping intermittently which also made it hard to relax. I recommend skipping the $40 tea which we were rushed through. It consisted of an almost tasteless slice of tiramisu, a small tasteless Madeline wrapped in plastic (why was there only one for two people?), one chocolate, and peach tea. The tea is overpriced and needs improvement. The bottom line is that the body scrub and the massage were 100% an awful experience. The manager gave me 75% off the body scrub; 10% off the unrelaxing, cold and wet massage; and comped the tea. This was not enough to offset what was supposed to be a special, relaxing, pleasurable spa experience with my daughter, but instead was disappointing, unpleasant, and very uncomfortable.

Recently, I moved from New York and have been looking for a new brow salon because the one I…read moreinitially found in Georgia was farther from my house and the results were just okay. I was really hoping to find someone who could recreate the style I was used to back home. I found this salon a few months ago and had been seeing one of the brow stylists, who was fantastic. She understood exactly what I was trying to achieve and helped me gradually get my brows back to the shape I loved. Since eyebrow growth takes time, we've been working toward that goal over multiple appointments. Unfortunately, her schedule has been a bit inconsistent lately, so I stopped in today after the gym hoping another stylist could help. Before we started, I explained in detail what I had been working on with the other brow artist and asked several questions to make sure she was comfortable maintaining that same shape. She assured me she understood and told me to trust her. Unfortunately, the result was the exact opposite of what I had asked for. It felt like my concerns weren't listened to, and months of progress toward growing my brows back have now been undone. Brows take weeks to grow back and often months to reshape, so it's incredibly disappointing to feel like I'm starting over. What made the experience even more frustrating was that I spent a significant amount of time explaining exactly what I was trying to accomplish because I wanted to avoid this outcome. I left feeling like I had wasted both my time and the progress I'd made over the past few months. It was simply a very inconvenient experience that could have been avoided if the stylist had been upfront about not being familiar with the technique or shape I was looking for. I'm sure this stylist may do a great job for clients looking for a different brow style, but if a client is asking for a specific approach that you're not confident you can achieve, it's much better to be honest than to promise you can. Setting the right expectations is so important. I wondered if I was just being overly critical, but when I got home, my fiancé immediately noticed the difference and even commented that my brows didn't turn out as well as they had before. I'll continue booking with the original stylist because she truly understood what I was looking for, but I wanted to share my experience so others know to request the stylist whose work aligns with the look they're trying to achieve.

I have mixed feelings about my experience; the work itself was stellar. Melanie was delightful, and…read moreshe worked magic with my hair. She is fun to talk to and so detail oriented, and it truly shows in the care she placed in her work. The final result (extra time full highlights + a single process color ends refresh) was fantastic. However, please be aware of the time and pricing transparency... I was originally quoted $330 during my consultation, but my final total at the desk was $435. I wasn't made aware at any time that this cost was changing or anything was being added on. I noticed on the end receipt that Olaplex was added in as $50. While I appreciate the care for my hair health, I wasn't consulted about this add-on or extra cost beforehand. Because I didn't have the initial consultation quote in writing from the salon, I didn't feel I could easily dispute the overall cost, and the services were already done as well... but it was a quite shock to be $100+ over the expected price for what I had budgeted. After tip and the credit card fee, the total came to almost $200 more than the initial quotation. Additionally, the service took six hours (2:30 PM to 8:30 PM). I wasn't made aware the time commitment needed and mentally estimated 4/4.5 hours at most for highlights and ends refresh from how my hair appointments typically go (7/8 hours for a full head double process). Melanie was incredibly dedicated; she even stayed past closing to ensure my hair was perfectly blow-dried and didn't rush the process. I just wish the booking came with a time estimate, so I could have planned my evening accordingly since I had dinner plans with friends that I couldn't make on time. I highly recommend Melanie's talent and ability, but I'd suggest confirming the price and duration in writing from consultation and again before starting the actual process.

I picked spa land based on reviews and it did not disappoint. The only downside is that the towels are very tiny. The dressing room and bathroom Doesn't have AC. Also, you can't wear any slippers. we brought our own house slippers they said no. it's only socks or barefoot, but we saw the staff wearing sneakers out on the main floor. I would understand if they were kitchen staff but these weren't. There a variety of sauna to try from that is coed. The swimming pool and the wet sauna are in the dressing area. They also offer a variety of additional items which we didn't take advantage of but other people did. I am glad my husband said yes. The bathroom definitely needed some attention. The trash needed to be emptied and the entire space could have used a good cleaning. I understand that at the end of a busy day that may be the last thing anyone wants to tackle, but cleanliness still makes a big difference in the overall experience. The staff also felt pretty neutral. At many Madison Reed locations, I'm greeted warmly the second I walk through the door and immediately feel welcomed. I just didn't get that feeling here. The stylist doing my hair seemed a little rushed, and while I was processing, I stepped next door to grab dinner. When I returned, I learned she had an emergency and had to leave quickly, which I completely understand, but overall the experience still felt disconnected. Every Madison Reed location is different, and I've had some really wonderful experiences at others. This one just didn't have that warm, welcoming feeling I normally associate with the brand. For me, it was probably a one-and-done location. If I'm back in the area, I'd likely try a different Madison Reed.
