We stopped in to St. Croix Cleaners to use their Laundromat while vacationing in the area. First, the laundromat was very clean and has plenty of seating, carts, and a detergent and beverage vending machine. They also have two racks of organized hangers available to take as needed so if you are like us and traveling, these really came in very handy. The washer and dryers can be used with coins or credit cards which is great! In addition, the washers and dryers come in a variety of sizes so you can run small to extra large loads. Where we ran into a little trouble is using one of the dryers. We used the larger load dryer but we only had a small to medium size load. We ran the dryer twice and our clothes were still wet. We didn't see an attendant so we decided to switch to a different dryer and that dryer actually dried the clothes. As we were leaving we did see an attendant and mentioned the issue with the machine. She immediately offered to refund our money and said she would put a note in the machine for repair. We thought that was very nice of her. St. Croix Cleaners did a wonderful job of mending and cleaning a 1950's swing coat that I inherited from my Mother. I was nervous about could be done with a 70 year old coat that was still in good condition. Amy, the manager, was patient and attentive when listening and answering my many questions about the coat. She explained what care could be done and that their vintage restoration department would be involved. Pat, the seamstress, did an awesome job of mending my areas of concern and I personally met with her at the Woodbury location to adjust the hem of the coat lining. She too was friendly and patient. I had a very negative experience here unfortunately. They advertise same-day dry cleaning service if you drop off your item before 8:30am (which I did) and say you can pick up after 5pm. I received a notification at 1pm that my dress was ready early. I paid and left, but when I got home I saw the stain I took it in to have treated looked the same. I was very disappointed that I was not notified before pickup that they could not remove the stain. When I called to ask if there was an issue removing the stain, I was told by Spencer that they handle thousands of clothing every day and do the best they can in the time they have. I was made to feel bad for dropping it off "last minute," but I was never asked if picking it up another day would work for me if they couldn't get the job done in the time they had. I did not receive an apology and they refused to refund me. Very disappointed in the customer service. This is my first time going to the dry cleaners. I was recommended this place. The place is clean, the workers are kind and focused on their work, and the outcome of my dress was beautiful. I brought a velvet dress I wore and spilled food on. When I received my dress from the cleaners, the spill was gone and the dress came back to me better than how I bought it. Not only did they clean my winter coat, but also removed the terrible pilling. The staff is always so friendly. They never seem put off because I forgot my ticket. I rarely leave bad reviews, I try to only point out excellent service when possible and give folks the benefit of the doubt that my bad experience was possibly a one-off, but sadly I am forced to finally review St. Croix Cleaners. First, let me say that the Cottage Grove locations and assumable others, are just satellite drop off branches for this main Stillwater hub and this review should be primarily directed at the service I received from the Stillwater location. The Cottage Grove location is nice, friendly, clean and convenient, although on the higher end price-wise. I've been consistently taking laundered items here since July as there's just not another option as convenient as this in Cottage Grove and they typically seem to get the job done. My one-star review (would be less if possible) is the way they have handled issues with damaged items in their possession. I took a brand new shirt to them to be laundered in Oct. '19. A few days later when picking it up i noticed the shirt sleeves and rest of shirt were stretched a good 3-4 inches. So I immediately returned the shirt for review to them, to which I heard nothing back, in spite of inquiring weekly, until mid-December. I was constantly told that someone at their Stillwater location would be calling me in the next day or so... that message was told to me weekly for appx. 8 weeks... still nothing. One day in mid-Dec, I noticed this shirt was slipped back in with my regular laundering pickup... no note, no explanation, no call, nada. The Cottage Grove location wasn't able to help as all communication comes from the Stillwater hub. After calling Stillwater for days, I finally got in touch with a regional manager, Spencer, who happened to be in the Cottage Grove location one day and explained the issue to him. He asked if I would be willing to return the shirt to be sent in for 3rd party analysis which would take no more than two weeks guaranteed. The next day, still mid-Dec, I returned the shirt to be sent in for analysis by the 3rd party. I didn't receive the shirt back until late Feb. 2020. The note from the 3rd party stated it could find no fault with the shirt and no evidence of stretching... which is ridiculous as it fit perfectly in the store and was new (unworn) when I took it in for launder and now it's 3-4 inches longer and can't even see my hands when I tried it back on. I finally was able to get in touch with John Langdon, some higher up, at the Stillwater location on 2/28, and reviewed the situation. He stated it was not acceptable for St. Croix to go dark on me for so long and he would at the very least work something out with me for that trouble. I stated I wanted him and I to have a conversation with the local high quality manufacturer, Hammermade, as I had previously discussed this issue with Hammermade and wanted to loop everyone in together. John stated he would check with the owners about his ability to represent St. Croix Cleaners in discussions with Hammermade and would get back to me by 3/3/2020 if that was acceptable. John was very polite and professional in this discussion. However, once again, St. Croix Cleaners went dark until I emailed John and Hammermade together on 3/11/2020, stating I had not received a reply by the agreed date. This morning 3/12, I received a curt email response from John that the shirt issue was not their responsibility... no follow up call, no sorry for the hassle... no recognition of the length St. Croix Cleaners ghosted me on multiple occasions. Seriously?? I own a business and I understand that whether this ultimately comes down to St. Croix Cleaners or Hammermade at fault is not my primary issue, my issue lies with the customer service I've received from St. Croix Cleaners... horrendous at best. Will I keep taking my laundry there? Probably. Just nowhere else to go in this area, but I may just be forced to find somewhere else. The convenience factor is killing me though... but I can't keep having ruined expensive shirts. Just had another newer Peter Millar shirt that has been shrunk beyond wearable from these guys too. Dropped off couple shirts to get the sleeves shortened, 3 weeks later.Picked them up the charge was $40.00, i get the items home and find out hey did not do anything. Said i was called multiple times and mailbox full, not the case. Told she did not understand where to shorten the sleeves, items clearly marked with a Sharpie. Theunfortunate environment we are in Retail sucks, you need to verify everything before you leave an estabnlisment to make sure its correct. Especially fast food!!! read more

A price per business shirt (even a range) would not be given upon drop off. She said she would text me the quote after they looked at the shirts which was never received. Upon pick up, the young man at the counter said shirts ranged from $4.40-4.60 per shirt depending upon if there are French cuffs etc. The manager just gave the evil eye as if I had some nerve asking for any clarification. No detailed receipt was given but when I got home, I could see the prices on the bags. Only 2 of my approx 2 dozen shirts were in that price range. The rest were between $5.59-5.99. I don't understand why the prices are so hidden and why the store manager is so unpleasant about it. I won't go back. read more

Service is very poor and workers seem to not have been trained with any basic manners at all. In my two times there, they stare at you when you say hello. Cleaning is nothing special, but prices are high. They are a little pricier than a local business that wants repeat business.Won't be going back. read more

Dropped off a suit (blazer and pants) she said one piece I said, "no a suit". She opened the jacket and looked at the pants. I paid in advance (11.99) because it was possible I would need someone else to pick it up for me. I picked it up myself with receipt in hand. They said, "$11.46". I said, "keep the change". The receipt was foreign to them and they couldn't understand that I already paid. My question as to why they don't recognize their own receipt was met with blank stares. They then stated that I must have only been charged for the blazer. And they wanted another $4.50 for the pants. So originally they wanted $11.46, but when they found out I prepaid they wanted $15.96. I told them I wouldn't be back and that didn't seem to bother them as they swiped my card for the additional $4.50. read more

I've been a huge fan of st. croix cleaners since they first opened many years ago. that has changed however. They lost/misplaced a dress shirt in October; I counted my shirts when I dropped them off with one of the clerks watching. When picking up and finding one fewer shirts we both made a point and they said they'd try to find it. No worries; it happens. I called the manager 2-3 weeks later and left a follow up VM message; no return call. Called again and spent 20 minutes on the phone being told 1) they didn't lose the shirt, I miscounted and 2) they're understaffed, really stressed and busy. was told it takes a month to process. left a message last week, no return call; again. so I'm done. I'm sorry they're stressed; this is just a shirt. But sure don't feel like taking my shirts there any longer. They charge a premium for better quality and service, which seems to be in short supply. I wish I didn't have to write this poor review but this has crossed the line. I brought in a pair of new jean shorts that had a broken zipper to get repaired, the shorts still had the tag from when I bought them with the price ($5). St Croix Cleaners repaired the zipper (no rush or anything, normal two week time frame) and it cost $30 to get a new zipper. I wouldn't have even paid $30 for a new pair of these shorts. I was not told it would be that much before, a verbal quotes said under $15 and it was $30. AND the $5 price tag was very clearly displayed so they would've said "this probably isn't worth the money because it's $30 to repair." What a rip off, will not come again. read more

WORST DRY CLEANERS EVER. I dropped my shirt off on a Friday night. I was told it would be ready on the next Wednesday. I was given a claim ticket. When I came back for my shirt no one could find it. My ticket had been voided in their system. They had my name mixed up with a different customer of the same name. I had "managers" promise to call me on two occasions to update me on the search for my $130 Tommy Bahama shirt that they lost. No calls were received. On November 30th I dropped off my husband's hunting coat for slight repairs. My receipt said that the coat would be ready after December 14th. I received a thank you note about that time but I waited until January 2nd to pick up my coat. The seamstress came out and told me she hadn't started it because it was " filthy " and she wanted me to have it cleaned. It was dirty but it was not blood stained or stinky, I just needed the pocket and a tear at the base of the zipper repaired. The seamstress said that she would repair it but she would wait till the end of her work day because then she could go home and take a shower! I returned January 29th and they could not find the coat, the seamstress had marked it "in progress". I asked the girl at the desk to please retrieve my coat so she had another employ help her and after 15 minutes they gave me back the coat. I took the coat to Shorty's and they repaired it in 2 days and charged me less than half of what St Croix I cleaner was going to charge me of $64.26! All the employees,with the exception of the seamstress, were very kind and professional and that's why they get one star. I shall never go to Saint Croix cleaner again read more

St. Croix Cleaners does a superior job of dry cleaning and laundering. Knits are carefully hung on hangers, even with the added care of using tissue in the fold of the garment. I was so disappointed with the service and customer service at St. Croix Cleaners. My dress was not ready on the day they had told me to come and pick it up, and they did not even bother to call and let me know. So I drove an hour (round trip) to pick it up only to have the girl laugh and tell me it was not ready. Very inefficient, rude, and unprofessional. I would not go back. read more

8/15/13 - I wish I could give a negative star rating. I am so upset. I would not recommend going here for any reason. I took my beautiful Sleep Number comforter here to be dry cleaned. I picked it up, took it home, took it out of the bag and cried. It was a wrinkled mess and each square has a clump of fill inside, the fabric used to have a beautiful sheen to it and now it is dull and has no body. They said they would fix it. Really? After they "fixed it", some of the stiching is missing and some squares don't have any fill in them. Not even a clump, and it is still a wrinkled mess. My husband asked them to compensate us for the loss of our comforter or at least refund the cost of the cleaning and they declined, saying it is the quality of the comforter. Again this is a Brand Name "Sleep Number" comforter. I guess my next step is to contact the BBB and take them to court. Their website says they specialize in Bridal dresses. Brides please don't take that chance with this place. I am always amazed when I deal with a retailer. I bet they will tell the judge that the fine print says they are not liable. Why we as consumers tolerate that is beyond me. Customers should make the retailers sign something that says if they break it, they replace it. Buyer beware. read more
