There are no cliques and no bullying and when we have had issues we have raised them with the teachers and they have jumped on them to solve them immediately, and unlike other private schools there's no sense of entitlement from the parents or students. Also, because the school is so good at awarding scholarships not everyone is 'rich'! The school also has a great parent teacher association which offer weekly meet-ups and play dates as well as adult only events. Each class also has a WhatsApp chat group so parents can easily communicate with each other. If it sounds like one big happy family you'd be right, that's exactly what it feels like. In terms of academics my adhd child has thrived. Diagnosed at 4 we thought she would struggle but the school has been amazing at supporting her needs and accommodating her. They also offer many different seating types from a bouncy ball chair, to cushions on the floor and other such. It's very holistic and non political and offers many diverse ways of learning. They have a calming corner, encourage reading and emotional open communication as well many other ways of teaching emotional and academic intelligence. They teach in Spanish from day one and introduce Mandarin from 3rd grade, they also teach following the international Baccalaureate which is amazing. It teaches the children self confidence through weekly presentations and teaches them autonomy. They may be more traditional (no screens, no digital communication), but I actually enjoy that. I don't need photos of her everyday. I can tell she's learning and engaged by the things she tells and shows us at home and how happy she is to see her teachers and friends each day at drop-off. I appreciate that the teachers are spending their time with my child actually teaching and guiding. My daughter knows her numbers, colors, shapes - even a song that names all the planets. She gets exposed to foreign languages (Spanish, French, Japanese, ASL), music, yoga, other cultures and countries, and so much more. There are some older reviews that mention coloring sheets, but we haven't experienced that. One of the teachers who has been there for roughly 2 years is an artist herself and helps the children with a guided (every child makes their version of the same image) or self-expressive (every child creates what they would like) each week. We even have some framed up in our child's room. I highly recommend Twin Oaks.

The campus is impressive, with well-maintained facilities and a playground that could be every kid's dream. The teachers seem friendly and dedicated to their jobs. However, we had a negative experience with our 22-month-old son who had never been to a daycare before. We decided to enroll both of our kids in a full-day program from 8am to 3pm, despite having to commute 30 minutes every day for drop-off and pick-up. In the first week, the teachers suggested that we pick up our son at noon because he cried excessively, which was understandable. However, in the second week, they allowed him to stay until 3 pm for two days and then asked us to switch him to a half-day program because he was crying too much, and it was affecting the other kids. One day, we dropped our son off at school and left for home. As soon as we arrived at our garage, we received a call from the front desk staff requesting us to come back and pick him up in 20 minutes. Our son had cried so much that he vomited his breakfast, which we had previously informed the school was a normal reaction for him when crying, and not a sign of illness. When we told the staff that it would take us 30 minutes to return, they repeatedly asked if we had any friends or relatives who lived closer to the school to pick him up sooner, which we found odd. After several sick pickups in the middle of the day, the head of the school, Nichole, asked us to transfer our son to a half-day program to avoid disturbing other kids during their nap time. When we informed Nichole that we had enrolled our son in a full-day program but were asked to switch him to a half-day, she refused to refund us the portion of the tuition that we had already paid for the full month. Instead, she only agreed to refund us $3.58 for the two half-days, which we found confusing. Our advice for you is that be careful if you want SitH to be your child's very first daycare/preschool. They might not be able to soothe your kid and may put your family in the same situation like us. And you will lost a lot of money for them (their application fee, registration fee, security deposit, material fee, tuition fee. All are very pricey). We decided to enroll our children in another school the day after withdrawing them from School in the Hill, which turned out to be the best decision we ever made. Our son stayed in school until 5 pm every day and returned home happily. Another thing to be aware of is that the ZZ palm plants in the classrooms are poisonous from root to leaves. If your child loves plants or puts things in their mouth, please be cautious. We had asked Daniel, one of the school founders, to remove these plants, but they were still there when our children left the school. I have attached a photo of the plant, and I suggest you do some research about it.

When we were just getting to know the school, Andrea (the director) was very helpful in answering all of our questions, provided us with a tour, and helped ease our concerns, this being the first time our son had been away from us for extended periods. During the first month, our son cried everyday, picked up different bugs, and struggled to adjust to the new environment. But everyone at INIC was so patient and understanding, working with us to get our son slowly acclimated to school. After about a month, our toddler started to look forward to school, especially to the special celebratory days. One day at home, he even started counting in Spanish. :-) Throughout this time, we got daily updates from his teachers, Ms. Karla and Ms. Estela, on how he was doing. When he finally started having good days, they were just as excited as we were, and it really felt like a partnership! Can't thank the teachers and staff at INIC enough for giving us the peace of mind when it came to the care of our son. We really miss them!

It's about the people who manage INIC, particularly Yvonne Morales and Helena Diaz Gracian. When we enrolled our child, Yvonne told us on more than one occasion, there was a promotion offering 25% off for the first two months. That discount was a big factor in our decision to choose INIC over another daycare, given the large price tag parents are expected to spend for childcare. However, after the first month, we were charged full price. Only after repeated attempts to address the issue, was the discount applied the second month. On the third month, we were charged full price and told the discount was only for one month. They admitted the mistake of giving wrong information, but refused to honor what we were promised. The kicker? At the time of us trying to get them to honor their word, they were running the exact promotion they refused to give us. We tried repeatedly to resolve it, emailing, calling, and even speaking with staff in person. Each time we were told someone would get back to us, but nobody ever did. Eventually, they said there was nothing they could do and still charged us full price. They refused to make it right. Being lied to, and then ignored after trying so hard to get a fair resolution, was incredibly disappointing. It made us feel disrespected and taken advantage of, especially after trusting them with our child's care. In the end, not only did they fail to honor their word, they were dismissive and unprofessional. It felt like they didn't care about their customers at all. This was the worst administrative experience we've ever had. The teachers are fantastic, but the management's dishonesty and lack of accountability completely ruined our trust.
