Guidepost Bee Cave has provided an amazing Montessori education to our two children, ages 3 and 10…read moremonths, for the last year. Given our children's ages, we have experience in the Nido, Toddler, and Children's House programs and would highly recommend all three. We have also attended the Westlake Guidepost location and have experience at two other daycares prior due to moving, so we feel we have a good breadth of experience from which to recommend Guidepost Bee Cave. The new head of school, Mike, who took over this summer, is nothing short of amazing. He has a young child himself and has an operational background that really shines in every aspect of quality and consistency at the school. Other reviews mention staff turnover, which I can confidently state is a challenge for every childcare center (certainly for all four we have attended). What makes Guidepost Bee Cave stand out in this area is 1) knowledge transfer about your child's unique needs 2) training of new guides 3) quick action to remediate challenging staff 4) transparent communications. These are all due to Mike's leadership and we have been amazed at the quality care our children receive as a result. The guides care so much about the children and frequently communicate observations through written notes, photos, and verbal check-ins at pickup and dropoff. Even the guides at the school who don't directly oversee our children know our children by name and always speak with them, even if our child is acting shy lol. We particularly appreciate Ms. Mackenzie, Ms. Alyssa, Ms. Jessica, Ms. Ashraf, Ms. Lekha, Ms. Christine, Ms. Debra and Ms. Shanice, but there are really too many wonderful guides to name. I highly recommend this school for anyone wanting to raise confident, independent little people in an environment where practical life skills are taught and "I can do it myself" is a mantra.

One of my kids was struggling academically, but in 2nd grade he grew leaps and bounds in math and reading, from far behind the mean scores in MAP to 30 pts higher by the end of the school year. The collaboration between classroom teachers, dyslexia intervention teachers, and other support staff was so smooth. We've seen the school grow considerably in its functioning since 2021 and are really happy to be here! Also the community spirit is very strong. classes meet up for play dates outside of school to encourage friendship building, volunteer with teacher needs, organize fundraisers for special projects, and the camping trips twice a year are really special. We know this now since we quit the Goddard School and started with another one about 3 miles away and have had a totally different experience. Just know that the Goddard School infant room is chaos. One of the ladies was always so flustered. Babies always, always, always crying. Bright florescent lights on constantly. Music playing all of the time. Babies just laying around on the floor. 5 month old babies "holding bottles" and "feeding" themselves. Babies in the cribs crying and not being soothed in any way. Pacifiers overused. Babies sitting looking at a mirror on the wall crying. No one ever looked happy there! Our baby was miserable and always red and swollen and voice was hoarse from crying all day. It was awful. We are so happy now that we are no longer there. My co-worker's baby had the exact same negative experience and I tried to push it out of my mind but...Trust your intuition! The Goddard School did not feel right and it was not right.

They are professional, warm, and always willing to provide additional guidance and support to us as new parents. The building and facilities feel safe, secure, and clean. This last year of global pandemic has presented the teachers and staff with so many unique challenges and they've navigated each one effectively and with grace. Deep down I know that these wonderful ladies do a much better job of taking care of my children all day than I could ever hope to do on my own. The curriculum always blows my mind and the best part is receiving photos of my kiddos throughout the day. My favorite photo was one of my son laying on the ground and painting a "fresco" onto some butcher paper taped to the bottom of a table. As we toured, it immediately felt like the kids were comfortable, and we felt so welcome. Since our child has been there (he is our first baby) they have given us confidence, comfort and advice when we sought it. They helped us to realize our kid was suffering from hearing loss and guided us on how we could get him help both from doctor and government programs. They have patiently guided our kid through some serious anxiety struggles and I've witnessed they practice flexibility with other neurodivergent children. It's so comforting and appreciated.
