Stopped in here after a work meeting and was pleasantly surprised! Obviously you would think that an establishment with high stakes and high rollers would have a decent selection of fine food and fine booze! This had all of that fine food fine booze but also great service! The only setback I had with my experience was the $46 additional lobster tail I ordered that was around the same size as one of the scallops on my scallop entrée.... If you're going to charge $46 for a lobster tail it should be fairly significant. Other than that, I highly recommend this location, this is a review on the food but even though the rooms are a little dated they're very large and comforting! Toronto food prices with the ambiance of a Days Inn, it is a restaurant inside a Casino, literally. The menu is a hodgepodge of dishes that appear on the menus of every restaurant 5 years behind the curve. I ordered a dry vodka martini (with a twist) with grey goose, it came sweet and with Smirnoff. A second try got me the grey goose but sadly it was again sweet and I didn't have the heart to send my drink back a second time fearing it might return with a human body fluid in it. The plastic straw was a nice touch too. I started with a Caesar, no croutons, it was a salad....that came with croutons. Followed by the Poke and Carpaccio. The Poke was bad, it tasted like it was 2 days old, places on a piece of nori that was soaked in 'tuna juice'. I sent it away. The carpaccio was salted into oblivion, no olive oil, no green to cut the richness, 4 crackers....just overall bad. The wine list reads like a gas station liquor store. No bubbly by the glass. No light reds. I guess I'll just have these two previously frozen rolls instead of edible food or drink. Overall I'm disappointed and I guess I should have known better, however, when in Rome. If you ever find yourself hungry after rolling the dice hit up this spot. The food is consistently good at this steakhouse. The prices are fair and the quality is great. I flip between a steak or prime rib. Both are always cooked to perfection and come with a side of potatoes. The Caesar salad is spot on. It is always a highlight so get the large, you will be happy you did. The wine list is good with prices slightly lower than comparable steakhouses. All in all a great place to eat after you win or loose. read more

We booked a dinner at St. Germain's Steakhouse last weekend and it did not disappoint. The food was fresh and delicious. My Fillet of Beef "Au Poivre" was perfectly cooked medium. I've been to more expensive Steakhouses that overcooked the meat. This was perfect. The jumbo shrimp cocktail was also delightful and the sautéed local mushrooms (not pictured) were tasty. Our server was also really efficient and friendly. It was a great experience and I would go back again. read more

I had the bison rib eye, it is an expensive menu but holy cow it was the best peice of meat I had. The veal reduction sauce with it was superb, I didn't think it could get better. Delicious will be there again. read more

I have been to many steak houses over the last year and I have to say St. Germain's is one of the better ones top-notch quality - serving local game meats. I try to appetizers the escargot and the foie gras - both melted in my mouth and left me wanting more My main entrée was venison tenderloin chops served in a dark chocolate reduction - it was excellent, so tender and cooked to perfection. Kudos to the chefs. The waitstaff were also very friendly and timely with my order. read more

Second time coming and still impressed with their food and service. On top of that you can use your player's card from the casino to get $ off (depending how much you play of course). Our party of 4 celebrated double birthdays here recently and had a magnificent time! Once seated at our table, we enjoyed exceptional service from Yvonne who went above and beyond in all capacities! We ordered a variety of appetizers and entrees which were all succulent, delightful, and beautifully presented. Everything from the fresh oysters to the lobster tails to the steaks and salads were enjoyed by all. Then, surprise! Sweet Yvonne had heard it was a Mother/Daughter birthday and came waltzing toward our table with candle-lit desserts and gorgeous gift boxes of cookies. We had been celebrating our birthdays at various places over the course of a week (including Drake 150), but everything pales in comparison St Germain's Steakhouse for quality, ambiance and service. **TIP** One mustn't expect to amble right in off the "street", as this sophisticated dining experience requires at least a few weeks booking ahead, which we knew, and did. Excellent. ... One of the best steakhouses in Canada.. The prime rib is to die for. Steaks are cooked to temperature , the seafood appetizers fresh and we'll presented. Add to all this the friendly staff and great ambiance and you have the makings of a wonderful meal. May want to go easy on the horseradish. .... hottest, but tastiest., ever. read more

I've been to plenty of top steakhouses, and this is not one of them. The décor is modern and clean, tables are spacious and seats are very comfortable, staff are friendly and helpful, the wine list is underwhelming, but the most important thing of all is the food, and sadly, that was the weakest part of the evening. The wine list comes on an iPad, which makes navigation easy. While covering most of the bases, the list is definitely thin (the entire French red section is only 8 wines). If you are willing to spend, there are a couple of reasonable choices to be found, otherwise the list is mediocre stock listings. We started with the parmesan chips (very tasty, nicely crisp with plenty of parmesan), a half dozen oysters (reasonably fresh, small, but plenty of accompaniments), and the seared foie gras (pretty small portion, and overcooked as well). From there we moved on to the main courses, and if there was a common theme, it would be inconsistency and overcooked food. The quality of the meat is not the issue, but rather the cooking. One half of a steak is done properly, but the other side is overcooked. That rang true for the ribeyes, the rack of lamb, and even the bison steak. The cooks do not know how to achieve consistent cooking temperature throughout the entire steak, and consequently half the steak is overcooked. Even the side vegetables are overcooked, the asparagus coming limp and dry, the wild mushrooms consisting of a blend of domestic mushrooms, not wild, once again, you guessed it, overcooked. At this price point that is unacceptable. Heck it would be unacceptable at half the price. The verdict - if you are someone who orders your steaks well done, this is your place. If you order medium rare or rare, prepare to be seriously disappointed. And chances are you won't have much to choose from on the wine list to console yourself with. read more

This is a wonderful fine-dining restaurant. The menu will please all tastes and offers some unique selections. Our classic french onion soup, caesar salad, roast beef, striploin and all vegetable sides were delicious. They also have a great wine list, but what made our dining experience more enjoyable was Stacey, our server. Her knowledge of dishes and how they are prepared shows what a great team she and the chefs are, plus, she can help guide you to a perfect glass of wine. To be honest the food was good here, but I found it to be overpriced for what you are really getting. My steak has never come the way I ask for it, I order medium rare and it's usually closer to well done. There was one time I actually sent a steak back because it was over cooked and the server seemed personally offended by this. They do have iPads at the tables, unfortunately they only have a wine list on them and I don't see the point of a $600 menu. Also last time I was there we waited well over an hour for our food so we asked for a second plate of bread. It was hard enough to get the waitress to our table but she was pleasant enough and said she would bring one right over, we got said bread halfway through our meal 30 minutes later. I will say though that their homemade ice cream is delicious. In my opinion I wouldn't go out of my way to visit this restaurant but if you happen to be going to the casino and would like to pay a little extra for a Keg-like steak this is a great place to go. read more

We tried to make a reservation twice during our stay at the Rama Casino. Both times we had a terrible experience. The rudeness and was overwhelming. When we tried the 2nd time, there were so many empty tables but could not get seated, went by 4 times and the same tables were still vacant. Second time same thing, we were told by the host that reservation were to be made 1 month in advance. You know what I say: We will never try to eat in your establishment ever again. After We were told from some friends that the food was not satisfactory, so thank you for not seating us. read more
