Ernie, the owner of Straight Line, knows his stuff and I found him interesting to talk with about a subject I have very little knowledge of. The men who installed the roof after taking off the old one, did a fantastic job. They were efficient, conscientious and super clean. They spent from 7:30 til 5pm, non-stop and did it in a day. I would certainly recommend Straight line roofing if you are looking to have a job done right.

I learned the importance of what "standing seam" means - basically it means there are no exposed fasteners. With the exposed fastener type, which is the cheaper type you have a strong potential down the road for water incursion. Ron does a true standing seam metal roof where there are NO exposed fasteners. He knows all about installing metal roofs. His crew were very courteous, professional and diligent hard workers. Ron was on the job and hands on the whole time. He has a very expensive machine with the rolls of metal so he can cut the correct sizes right on the property. The fact is that my house here in Maine is just a mobile home. After this experience with Ron and his crew I would recommend him to anyone. I have a brick and mortar home in Florida and if it were here in Maine and in need of a roof, I would definitely have Ron put a metal roof on it. My new metal roof here in Maine is gorgeous!!!

Brandon and the guys arranged to start on a day that worked for me, starting at around 9am to sunset everyday until both projects were done. They were profession and courteous through the whole job, only leaving behind sawdust in the grass. Great group of guys. Based in part on Owen Corning web page and in part on Yelp reviews I contacted Marsters Roofing. Marsters Roofing responded within an hour, and arranged to come within 2 days. Ephraim showed up on time and inspected the roof with ladder and drone. He replaced the damaged shingle we were aware of and replaced another damaged one that he found in different place on our roof. Now our roof is fixed and with the drone inspection we know there are no problems hidden in areas that we can't see. The cost for the repair seemed quite reasonable, especially considering that they did not install the roof to begin with.

We had our metal roof installed only 3 years ago and it started leaking last year. Apparently they…read morenever installed ice stops and the ice pushed our vents and caused leaks through our stove vent. (This caused mold which meant we had to renovate our entire kitchen. That cost $18,000!) We did our best to calk it in the meantime for an immediate fix. Sure enough, it started leaking again into our new kitchen! When we called them about it as the roof is warranteed, the woman who answered the phone referred us to some guy named Toby who used to work with them. He gave us a ridiculous price of $1600.00 to fix the leak and install the ice stops that should have been installed to begin with! We specifically went with Burke's because of the guarantee that the dad, the founder of the company, assured us of when he came out to quote. Apparently the son does not uphold the guarantee and quality that the company earned its reputation on. I still have my paperwork with the guarantee. I want my roof to not leak. I'd rather give my lawyer $1600.00 to get them to stand by their work than to pay some dude named Toby. Their guarantee is garbage. Go with someone else. Edit: 09/25/23 I just received a phone call from Sheryl Burke stating that our problem was from a lack of "maintenance" not their work, therefore they could come out and quote us to do what is needed to fix the leak but that they are more expensive than the quote I got recently. I informed her that this is not an issue of maintenance when they, the roofing professionals, never informed us that we needed additional hardware for a leak-free roof. We assumed that they, the professionals, would know what our roof needed and would include all of this at the time of quote and install. She tried to insinuate that we haggled over price, going with a cheaper option, (we didn't) and she stated that Zach didn't do the work, his dad Mark did. Wrong again, Sheryl. Mark quoted it in June and Zach did it in October. The bottom line: don't trust them to do what is needed, don't trust them to inform you of what is needed, and certainly don't trust them to stand by their assurance of a leak-free roof.
