If you are unfamiliar with the island, there are very few grocery stores you can shop at, so if you are actually on Captiva, this is your spot. There are more on Sanibel but that is a further drive. They also sell some merchandise, body items such as sunscreen and hats and then beer, wine, and liquor. We always stop here a few times while staying on the island. There are also fruits and vegetables as well as other cold items, pre made salads, dry stock items, such as breads, sauces, chips, etc. Something we always get is one of their sandwiches. They do make sandwiches to order as well using Boar Head items. For a small store, their wine and beer sections are very large. They even have a walk-in cooler so you can grab drinks cold already. We were able to find almost everything we were looking for or missed bringing with us. They welcomed us and said hello. The two guys we encountered were both very friendly and nice. We will continue to come here. It is convenient for where my family stays and we always run out of something such as bread or forget something. It is a perfect place to grab those last-minute items. I have even purchased some items here for gifts. If you are in the area I would definitely stop here for any last-minute items, you need.

Anyway my wife and grandson and I stopped in she had to get groceries and the boy and I wanted PuB Subs for our fishing trip in the morning. So my wife grabbed her cart and went to get groceries and I said we will meet you in the car. My grandson and I went to the counter and ordered our subs not much of a line they had three ppl at the counter making the subs but the guy we got was to say slow might be the biggest understatement of the year. My wife got her groceries went home let the dogs out and came back the an was still making our subs the Iran war is over he's still making the subs the groceries we got from the public where slow sub maker will expire before he makes our subs . This was a Saturday today is a Wednesday and we are still inline for our subs. I don't usually say fire the guy/girl I promise you that guy has cost you many many many of customers and if your reading this and your the manager I'm sure you know they person I'm talking about .

They promised that this would be the best guacamole in the world, and it was. It was absolutely amazing. They also had a native plant garden to look at, which amazed me on which plants are native to here versus back home. They still had available parking space even though it was very very crowded. The paths were nice gravel and they even had sea shells in them to give them an extra tropical touch. As well as a LOT of palm trees. Good for people who want a tropical holiday feel.

I needed a good grocery store because I am trying to limit my sodium intake... the produce was higher priced than a week ago at my local southeast Michigan Meijer. For example $2.49 for pears versus the same pears at Meijer for $1.69... I saw a nice selection of in-store-made cut Mellon, mixed berries, and grapes, but the prices were higher than I was willing to spend. I was happy to see a small kosher section; I bought a box of streits plain unsalted whole wheat matzo, plus another form of wheat - the Publix brand plain shredded wheat - it has no salt. I couldn't find any tuna or salmon without salt but i did find 2 brands of sardines without salt, one in the kosher section.... a helpful manager showed me where the date and raisin section was... I ended up buying $33.49 total worth of food including the above, dates, some produce, and a $.99 bottle of water. Overall selection was adequate. I give 4 stars instead of 5 only because of the prices.
