The current admin is either under qualified or so full of ego you will feel ick after the condescending conversation! Most all teachers I've encountered are great BUT be aware of the false hype surrounding this school. They just raised student fees despite a waste in many other areas! Those are FACTS.

The answer is the community and staff. The staff actually love our kids and love their jobs, they all know my kids by name and are extremely in tune with their needs. Everyone from the top down makes you feel like you are family. The principal has been with the school for 20 years and the way that she leads the staff is so impressive. It is just a very special place. My kids often thank me for switching them to East Lake. When I ask why - their answers say it all. I feel that our children are surrounded with love when they walk in the doors. This school is a hidden gem.

We had our 6 month old son in this daycare facility for just shy of three weeks and it was the…read moreworst 3 weeks of his life. That is saying a lot since our son spent the first 7 weeks of his life in the NICU... There is always an adjustment period when you change something and that I understand, however the girls that are in charge of the infant room seem like they do not know anything about infants. For the first 7 days I had told them every single day to try feeding our son a bottle and if he does not eat well, try baby food. In that first 7 days they only tried to feed him baby food twice, which shows they don't listen and is completely unacceptable. My son consistently would only eat 2 oz of formula ALL DAY and for some reason, nobody at this facility thought this was a problem until I called and had to complain about it. Why is it that I have to tell them to pay attention to him and if he doesn't eat well, you don't wait 3 hours to try and feed him again? By the time you're done waiting, the poor guy is ready to come home (thank god) with his empty stomach. I was hoping that this experience would be good for our son, but at the end of the day he lost weight while he was here because they don't listen. Every single day I would give them instructions to eat, do tummy time, or other different things and every time they tried something, they would stop just because he fussed a little. I'm sorry, but if you are told to do something you have to give it more than a couple of minutes before you scrap the idea. On top of all that, the last day he was there (the day after I had to complain that feeding him 2 oz a day is a huge problem) they called me to come pick him up on the middle of the day with a "rash," and made me sign something that said he needed a doctors note to come back the next day, which would have been his final day. Well, we went straight to the doctor and the was absolutely no rash! To me it was clear that they stopped caring (if they ever cared at all) knowing that it was his last day. Needless to say, I stayed home with my son the following day because one more day in that place was too many. I would not recommend this facility to anyone. Honestly, I feel like they didn't deserve to be paid at all for the time that our son spent there - he lost weight and needed to play catch up when he came home because they didn't follow feeding instructions. I filled out paperwork for a half hour regarding what he likes and what to do, and was basically wasting my breath every time I gave them a suggestion about how to feed him - if they aren't going to listen why am I talking? And no feedback from them either, all they would say is "ok, ok, ok." Terrible place for an infant.

My daughter attended here for nearly 5 1/2 years and I would choose this play all over again. My daughter came a long way here, having started with a little speech delay they not only worked with her on that but accommodated her speech therapist coming to work with her. The way this place was run it wasn't just all play time all the time, the kids would get to fun projects that taught them new things from arts and crafts type stuff to science and other subjects. I really have to give a shout out to the new director and her teachers assistant. They haven't been here for that long but i can't imagine this place without them. I would absolutely recommend Young at Heart to anyone in the area looking for a day care you can't go wrong choosing this place.
