I didn't know until it was too late that this meant "shredding" my hair, causing my already frizzy hair to turn into something like cotton candy with arrows sticking out here, there and everywhere. She tried to hide the damage by trying to back comb the disconnected parts, as if I would never notice the first time that I washed my hair. Stay away from her. Dimitra fixed my messy mane after a new colourist took over after my old colourist moved to the UK. I always sit down and just ask her to fix my hair and she always knows what to do and makes it look beautiful. It was my first time ever getting to enjoy a manicure spiff up while the dye was setting in my hair - so I ended up with both black hair and chic black nails. It was such an enjoyable glow up! My stylist was super sweet and gave me EXACTLY the hair colour and cut I wanted, which is, as many will know, not an easy thing to always achieve when you go to a new stylist. He listened carefully to everything I explained that I was looking for, and went out of his way to ensure that I got it! I even left with my specific dye recipe (which is kind of like a half-black, half dark brown mix) on a slip of paper, since he understood that I travel a lot and it would just make it so much easier to hand the recipe to my next stylist! I was so appreciative of that, because it's often hard to get a stylist to understand the kind of colour I'm looking for (surprisingly enough). Cut out the reddish, tone it down to a cool, deep, darkest brown bordering on black but not as unnatural looking as black. He nailed it. The next time I'm back in Montreal, this is where I will take myself immediately. The nail salon is next door, but they have a door between the hair salon and nail salon, so that your stylist can simply walk you through, with your towel on your head, sit you in a chair, and the manicurist knows exactly how much time there is to get your nails done before you have to go back over for your rinse. It's such a great working relationship. I was so happy with the manicure that I went back again for a redo a week and a half later! Fair warning, though - this salon IS in Westmount, the moneyed part of Montreal, so you will pay through the nose for your perfect salon experience. For me, it was worth it. A girl's gotta treat herself once in a while, and since I only typically hit a salon once every six months, I could justify it! Ha!

I was very specific about what I wanted, I painted a very vivid picture - it wasn't complicated. I expected a lot more from the stylist who claimed he had many years of experience. What I got in return was a blunt and heavy cut with no style - I asked for a trim but he ended up taking off a good two inches plus. Totally butchered it. My long-flowing locks are no more. Now I have no choice but to let it grow out for the next few months to get it back to the length I had it originally. The color was good. At least. But that's the easy part, let's be serious here.
