Every ingredient was crisp, crunchy, and prepared with so much care--it didn't feel like "just a salad," it felt like a full-on meal that left you energized instead of weighed down. And the smoothies? Incredible They're thick, refreshing, and taste like the best version of clean fuel for your body. Pairing one of their bowls with a smoothie became the highlight of our days in Toronto. What's wild is that I hate eating the same thing every day... but for this, I'd happily eat here for a week straight That's how much it hit the mark. My husband's Chicken Pot Pie and Frappuccino were very good and his side of Lentil Soup was excellent. The custard tart was okay. Overall, it was a pleasant experience that fortified our afternoon. Bravo to their side dishes and coffee. We would return.

My biggest complaint here was that I asked to substitute the breakfast meat with avocado instead, and they served an over-ripe (maybe rotting) avocado on my plate. The avocado slices were all covered in brown and black spots and had to be pushed aside... I would have appreciated if they offered extra salad or something else if they didn't have a fresh avocado available.  The server was friendly, the food came in a reasonable amount of time, and the service was efficient.

We placed an order at the register and received a buzzer for when the order was ready for pick-up at the counter. My sister ordered a chicken salad with corn, egg, avocado, and more. I ordered a turkey and brie sandwich. I didn't find the sandwich to be that tasty or moist but rather dry. We found a seat near the desserts, which were enjoyable to look at it and imagine which we may order in the future. We saw smaller and full-sized cake sizes of several of the cakes. They didn't provide me silverware when my order was ready (though they provided some to my sister). We also heard them ask a deaf couple next to us to move so other guests could sit at their table. They also dropped a cup and chose to leave it on the ground and ignore it at least while we were at the restaurant. While I still thought are experience was okay or fine, there was quite a bit of room for improvement. This restaurant is know to be a great place for crepes, delectable panini, flavorful soups, and tasty pastries. They are open on weekdays from 9:30 AM to 8 PM, Saturday from 9:30 AM to 6 PM, and Sunday from 10 AM to 5 PM. While I couldn't find their website online, they have some marketing via the Bayview Village website. Some of their fancy desserts include a Degas cake consisting of dark chocolate mousse, dark chocolate biscuit, and milk chocolate creme on a chocolate brownie, a a Voltaire cake consisting of milk chocolate mousse, dark chocolate mouse on flourless chocolate biscuit, and Foret Noire consisting of dark chocolate sponge layered with dark chocolate mousse and whipped cream. The next customer spoke Ukrainian, which the lady at the counter spoke as well. Next, it was my turn to order. Although I could understand most of what they said, I speak Russian, and I was afraid to use it in an ethnically Ukrainian/Polish deli. So I went with English (that was a bit of a challenge for them), and got 2 dozen cottage cheese pierogis, as well as some borsch. I gave some pierogis to my Ukrainian mother, and she said that the pastry was beautifully tender. It was wonderful to go the the Whole Plate, because it is so traditional, and I can't get this sort of food in Pickering. If you are in the Roncy (Roncesvalles) neighborhood and crave some Eastern European delights, then The Whole Plate will satisfy the craving! Credit, Debit and Cash are all fine. Parking can be challenging, but the side streets usually have spots available. You really could fill your whole plate at this deli, and many of the customers ahead of me were older folks, buying their food stash for the week. How nice for them to get this taste of home cooking! Here is a hint always ask for light ice they still give you plenty of ice, even if the cold brew comes out cold. Otherwise you get a cup full of ice. De Mello coffee is expensivei. However, in the scheme of things it is a good value because the coffee beans they use have a good solid caffeine kick and it tastes good! (My overall favorite place is still across the street a couple blocks North at Himalayan coffee. It's folksy, a lot less expensive and I always feel happy there, especially after I get a cute latte art on my drink.). The Coconut island cost $8.50 plus tax or $9.60! De Mello Coffee is creative marketing their coffee beans. They have crazy names by cotton candy, lolipop, birthday cake, dead, man, walking, etc. however, a small bag of beans is super super expensive. But their marketing makes you wanna try it and then afterwards you're like oh I guess I taste something but it's still not worth the cost. I'm sorry if this review leaves you puzzled to go or not.
