Had a fabulous cute girl dinner with my close friend at LuluBar…read more Firstly, our server was so enthusiastic and it seemed he was happy to be there. The fried squid was incredible and I can't remember the sauce but it added some umami flavor. Chicken satay with peanut sauce was lovely. And I liked eating the linguine too, the curry-like flavor was incredible. I drank a zero proof coconut pineapple cooler mocktail and it had a nice taste but an interesting aftertaste. Overall very cute place, although I will say it's not super cheap, I do like the family concept of the meals and how we shared everything! I'd say it's 40-70$ per person so make sure you bring enough:)

We tried the Summerlicious lunch menu and added a couple of skewers…read more Grilled Chicken Satay The chicken was juicy and not dry. The peanut sauce reminded me more of Chinese satay sauce than traditional satay--it was thick and covered the chicken completely, overpowering both the chicken itself and the turmeric spices. Personally, I prefer satay where the chicken is the star rather than the sauce. Beef Tongue Skewer Instead of the thick-cut beef tongue you'd find at an izakaya, this one uses thin slices stacked onto a skewer, more like Japanese yakiniku. The texture was tender, and each bite was packed with the sweet and tangy glaze. The downside is that the thin slices char easily, and some edges were a little overdone. Still, I thought it was an interesting idea. Charred Cabbage A generous portion that's great for sharing. The cabbage is paired with dan dan sauce, rayu, and kimchi furikake, bringing together Chinese, Japanese, and Korean flavors. None of them dominate, but they work surprisingly well together. Salmon Tartare The yuzu ponzu and avocado complemented the salmon beautifully. They enhanced its freshness while balancing the richness, making the dish bright and refreshing. Pork Belly Loco Moco A Hawaiian comfort food built around rice, meat, a runny egg, and gravy. This version uses charcoal-grilled pork belly and a sweet tonkatsu-style gravy, adding Japanese and Korean influences. It definitely feels like Pacific Fusion, although the different elements felt more like they were placed together than truly creating something new. Mochiko Fried Chicken My favorite dish of the meal. The crust was crisp and packed with flavor, rather than relying on a coating of sauce like Korean fried chicken. You first taste the seasoned crust, followed by juicy chicken. The rice also had a subtle coconut aroma that was a pleasant surprise. Mango Custard Tart Layers of mango jelly, salted cream, coconut Chantilly, and tart shell created a nice sweet-and-salty balance. Well executed, although it wasn't particularly memorable. Lemongrass Crémeux The lemongrass crémeux had a texture somewhere between mousse and pastry cream, with a slightly sandy richness that I really enjoyed. Pineapple jam added a vibrant tropical fruit note, while the mango pieces brought a pleasant contrast in texture. The lemongrass and sea salt tied everything together beautifully. A well-balanced sweet-and-savory dessert, and my favorite dessert of the meal. Overall, Lulu Bar is a fun Pacific Fusion spot with plenty of creative ideas. Not every dish was a hit, but several combinations really worked. It's the kind of place where you can enjoy some unique flavors without taking the meal too seriously, and that's exactly what I liked about it.

The caribbean food and flavors, mixed with the casual yet sultry ambiance, and the amazing playlist of soca, dancehall, reggae, and r&b...makes this place an absolute must-try when you're in the toronto area. The customer service is like a big caribbean hug from your relatives! Everyone is personable and warm, and yes, Mrs. Lonie (the owner) dropped by our table for a bit of a family reunion. Mrs. Loni and her husband also own Isla restaurant in Washington DC. The food hit all the right places..the fried snapper was fried and seasoned to perfection, and the oxtails were finger licking good. And of course the Likkie patties are delectable...I ate 4 on one sitting...and you're more than welcome to judge ;) This restaurant is popular, especially during caribana weekend, so make a reservation and try to be on time! King street is very busy and congested, especially on holidays and weekends..so plan your mode of transportation wisely...and don't even think about parking unless you get there during the day. Highly recommend Miss Likklemore's!!!

Hakka food is traditionally spicy, but you can choose the spice level. It recently opened early May 2024. They are open from lunch until 2am/4am! We ordered the following: 1. Mango Lassi ($5.99). 2. Rose Milk ($4.99). 3. Cutting Chai ($3.50). 4. Singaporean Wow Noodle Bowl ($11.99) + Shrimp (+$3.99). Served with sirracha, cashews, and rice noodles. 5. Butter Chicken Noodle Bowl ($11.99) + Chicken (+$2.99). Using dry tomato buttery sauce. 6. Fried Beef Momos ($9.99), served with Boyz salad, garlic mayo, and fire sauce. 7. Chicken Lollipop ($13.99). 8. Chili Beef (not on the menu). 9. Beef Puff x 2 ($3.50 x 2). 10. Curry Chicken Puff ($3.50). The Mango Lassi and Rose Milk were good. They are on the sweeter side, but I like my drinks sweet. The Singapore Wow Noodle Bowl was as expected, except they have bean sprouts that we not cooked. I asked the restaurant, and they said it was meant as garnishes. But I pointed out that in Singapore, they eat bean sprouts as vegetables. They restaurant will look into cooking them. The Butter Chicken Noodle Bowl was unexpected. It wasn't your typical saucy butter sauce, but a dry version. It still had the taste of butter chicken, but probably with far fewer calories, which is great for me. The Fried Beef Momos had a good dipping sauce. The Chicken Lollipop was so juicy and tender. The chef made Chili Beef for us. It was very good and I recommend putting it on the menu! The Beef Puff and Curry Chicken Puff are usually eaten as a snack. I wanted to try them. They didn't disappoint. There is no free WiFi. The restaurant is not wheelchair accessible. There are no customer washrooms. There is paid neighbourhood street parking. Review 2024-102

Markham doesn't have one. The closest one to my home used to be in Pickering. I've learned that the Sobeys on Laird that I used to frequent is now a Farm Boy, which is my closest one. Last Wednesday, I was visiting STACKT Market for the first time. I decided to park in an underground lot attached to Farm Boy. I knew that I wanted to check this grocery store out afterwards. It was also the closest parking lot to STACKT. Entering the lot was straightforward. I was driving from Mississauga. I ended up going north on Bathurst and made a right turn into the lot. There are no barriers that force you to take or insert a ticket. It's the honour system in that you pay for parking at the kiosk near the elevators by entering your licence plate and specifying how long you will be here. The great thing about this Farm Boy is that you get your forty minutes ($2) of parking reimbursed if you spend at least $15 at the store. I find that to be a simple feat. Grabbing what you need within forty minutes is generous. I went to Las Muns across the street to pick up some empanadas and check out STACKT. It didn't take long, as there weren't a ton of businesses open and I was the only customer at Las Muns. I love this Farm Boy store. Everything in the produce section looked neat and fresh. I gawked at all the fresh fruit. It even had a section with cut-up fruit that you can grab and go. I loved all beverages that I saw. Oat. Jarritos. a2 milk. Strawberry banana juice. Rise kombucha. It was exciting! I spent a lot of time in the bakery section. The bread section smelled so good. I found the day-old assorted bun bin. I got the softest set of cheese bagels and brioche buns in a bag for $4. I was so pleased! I made burgers and ate them with my bagel and brioche haul. Delicious! It was cool seeing BeaverTails cookies. I had to get a box of four apple cookies. I loved the cubed apples in each large cookie. The quiche section is amazing. You can get individual portions, half a quiche, or an entire quiche. I went with half a quiche, which lasted a couple of meals. The ham and spinach quiche was yummy and perfect. Front Street Grill is where you can get hot foods. The stir-fry section is cool where you pick the protein and veggies, and it's made right in front of you. There's also a hot bar if you'd like to pick and choose what you'd like. One of these days, I'll do the soup bar. I love soup and can see how deadly it would be for me. I got the nicest man at the checkout. He asked if I needed a bag. I only had three items with me, so I was okay carrying them to my car. I showed him my parking ticket after I saw that my total was over $15 items. He took my ticket, applied the parking credit, and all was good. I paid with a credit card. I tapped and was done. He was kind to hand over my items. I thanked him and headed to the elevators. There are three. One came immediately. I love this store. I look forward to returning to shop here when I'm in the area.
