Decided to hit up Lulu Bar for happy hour before catching a show, and it totally hit the spot. The tropical vibes are super fun and the drinks were awesome--really creative cocktails that actually look cool when they come to the table. Food-wise, the small plates were delicious. We loved the hot dog baos and the pork belly bites. Everything came out pretty fast too, which was great since we were on a bit of a timeline.
I'm so glad I checked out happy hour at Lulu Bar. Their menu brings a Pacific coastal vibe, blending Hawaiian, Asian, Californian, and BC-inspired flavors. As soon as I walked in, I got that warm, beachy vacation-bar energy. We tried the char siu bao, pork belly, chicken wings, beef chuck, and their house-made Spam burger on a Hawaiian bun, along with a kale salad topped with gochujang macadamia nuts. Every dish delivered on flavor, but my favorites were the burger and the kale salad. Happy hour drinks were all reasonably priced, and I loved how they were served in cute glassware. They also had a great selection of local craft beers for $7, which was amazing. As a beer lover, I got to try brews from Dominion, Bellwoods, and Rorschach. I'll probably wait for a menu refresh and come back to try a whole new round of bites--but overall, such a great vibe for happy hour.
This is not your ordinary eggs-and-toast brunch. We ordered family-style so we could explore the menu--and somehow, every single dish delivered. The food is a creative fusion of Hawaiian and Asian flavours: bold, beautifully presented and genuinely memorable. Our brunch lineup: Tamago Katsu Sando Kale Salad Lulu Breakfast Shrimp & Crab Omelette Pork Belly Loco Moco BBQ Brisket Breakfast Sando Hawaiian Roll French Toast Grilled Pineapple From the savoury sandos and rich loco moco to the sweet Hawaiian roll French toast and grilled pineapple, every plate brought something different to the table. Sharing everything family-style is absolutely the way to experience this menu. The service matched the food--attentive, courteous and genuinely friendly throughout our visit. An exceptional fusion-brunch experience and easily one of the most interesting brunches we've enjoyed in a long time. We came hungry, tried almost everything, loved it all--and will definitely be back. Come with a group. Order widely. Share everything. Thank me later.
I ate here during summerlicious, but realized I never wrote my review. I'll start with the good: the drinks. I enjoyed my drink, and I would definitely come back for the bar experience specifically. Unfortunately the food is as a miss for me. I had heard so many good things, but it all felt either underwhelming or overwhelming in the wrong way. I was super excited for the hot dog bao, but it literally just felt like a mini hot dog in a bun. The dumplings were okay, but pretty standard. One of the dishes was very overpowered with vinegar, and it blew the rest of the dish out. A lot of people like this restaurant, so it could still be worth a try, but I don't see myself returning unfortunately. The decor was cute and the staff friendly.
My colleagues and I were looking for a place to sit down, enjoy some drinks, and unwind with nice ambience after a long day. While walking near the well, we stumbled upon this bar and decided to go in. When we first asked for a table on the patio, the manager refused, saying it was fully reserved, which was not true. Then, in the ground floor bar area, almost every table was empty except for 1, and he again said everything was reserved. It felt a bit weird, but we agreed to wait. We stood outside in the cold windy night for about 15 minutes while discussing whether to go somewhere else. It had been a long day and we didn't have the energy to start over so we stayed. After a while, the manager returned and offered us a table on the second floor. We accepted, sat down, and ordered a variety of food and drinks, all of which were nice. The servers were great as well. I was left wondering though if we were treated differently because we were dressed casually or for some other reason. Overall, it was an okay experience.
Great place with a lovely ambiance at the Well!We visited for a group dinner and arrived just as happy hour was ending, taking advantage of their $10 cocktails and snack plates, which are a solid deal and run until 6 P.M., perfect for anyone working a 9-5. Happy hour deals also had variety which is a plus! For appetizers, we tried their scallop crudo in passion fruit-ish sauce. It was delicious and juicy, and was served in a stunning shell that really elevated the dish (I almost wanted to snag one home). For my main, I ordered the noodles, which reminded me of a fancier version of pad see ew. They had a nice kick, though the portion was a tad small for the main, but I guess it's more upscale My least favourite dish was their tres leches dessert with a twist. It was kind of sour and not soaked like you would expect tres leches to be, so I was somewhat thrown off by it. Overall, the drinks were great and happy hour is a solid deal. I'll definitely be back for happy hour :)
I met a friend here for happy hour. The cocktails and food were all exceptional. The dip was creamy and flavorful. The hot dog boa is what you think it is - like a delicious hot dog only in bao form. And the salad was super fresh and flavorful and delicious. The happy hour prices were great too. Our server was attentive and we were seated promptly. I recommend making reservations. The vibe is busy and welcoming. There were all sorts of folks there - work groups, friend groups, and dates. All in all, it was a great experience and I'd live to visit again.
I was looking for a family friendly restaurant and found this one at the Well! I ordered quite a few dishes to try and can say that all the dishes were excellent! This place served Pacific coast inspired food which was interesting to say the least! I've never tried anything like it. I came around 1 pm and at that time there weren't many customers. The space was quite large and I had booked the upstairs dining room. The server was prompt and attentive. Going back to the dishes, I think the Kale Salad, Taro tots and the bbq crispy half duck are worth an honourable mention! I absolutely devoured these dishes. Overall, it's a great spot to share some dishes and kick back after strolling around the Well. By the time happy hour rolled around, a good crowd was doing just that!
Overall 3.8 star I don't like the food in Summerlicious. All portion is small. Duck skewer is mince. Salad sauce is refreshing but ingredient deep fried rice noodles without much veggies and is not my type. The main Korean beef ribs with rice is not my type. One thin slice of beef cut into pieces with rice with orange like thing ( I wish it is sweet potatoes would taste better) make it some sour . Fish is better but very small portion with 3 romain leave. I don't like ice cream sandwich as the sandwich is sweet bread or donut? Service is ok but putting out our wine during main is a bit late. The payment machine option is not the usual one and even my IT friend has difficulty in using it . Every screen only have 10 secs to think and will go to default. The only thing I like is the vibes, decor and the individual washroom.
Visited this Hawaiian restaurant situated by The Well over the Canada Day weekend. We were able to walk in without reservations and saw plenty of seating available around 5 pm. They have a happy hour from 3-6 pm everyday, where cocktails & mocktails are $10 with discounted appetizers, so we ordered The Pretty One cocktail, Hawaiian Honeycreeper mocktail, and chicken wings ($13) from this menu. We also ordered the Loco Moco (beef patty with fried rice, egg, gravy, and mushrooms) and their Crab Noodles as our mains. The mains were okay, but what I would return for were those chicken wings and their drinks. They have so many cocktail and mocktail options to choose from, making it a great spot to drop by for happy hour. Service was also very friendly and the interior was gorgeous as well.
I had a lovely lunch at Lulu Bar in Toronto. The hot dog bao may sound a little gimmicky but it was great. I also enjoyed the wok-fried Thai noodles and the king oyster mushroom skewer. It was the charred cabbage, however, that stole the show! With chili crunch, Szechuan coconut cream and lime, this was the most exciting cabbage dish I've had...ever? I look forward to returning to Lulu bar, especially for their daily Honolulu happy hour from 3-6PM. If Pacific-inspired (read: inventive Asian with a bit of a Hawaiian bent) food is your jam, you'll dig this joint.
I came here with my boyfriend for summerlicious (dinner). I appreciate that not everyone has to order off the summerlicious menu and you can mix and match. We got here during happy hour so also added some of those items. Service was fast and great. I also love the atmosphere. Duck Tskune Skewer: this was my boyfriend's favourite. In addition to the dip, they also had a leaf to wrap around the duck, offering 3 different ways to enjoy Cucumber salad: was a little salty at first but grew on me for sure. Reminded me of thai dishes. Different from other cucumber salads I've had in the past. I would recommend the kale salad over this one which is also on the happy hour menu Crispy chicken wonton: this was good. I preferred dipping it into the sauce that came with the duck skewers vs the sauce that came with the wontons Maui short ribs: this was good but I'm a bigger fan of some of the other mains they offer Brown sugar thai iced tea ice cream sandwich: the ice cream was delicious. The bao was a little greasy.
Love this new Pan-Asian fusion spot in The Well. If you are looking for some different offerings, especially with a Hawaiian flair, I suggest you check out LuluBar. Note- the dishes are made for sharing, so do ask your server for recommendations. We probably over ordered a bit, but it just was sooo good. They have some unusual drinks too. They have a bar area downstairs (ground floor) and the dining room is up 1 level.

Had a fabulous cute girl dinner with my close friend at LuluBar. Firstly, our server was so enthusiastic and it seemed he was happy to be there. The fried squid was incredible and I can't remember the sauce but it added some umami flavor. Chicken satay with peanut sauce was lovely. And I liked eating the linguine too, the curry-like flavor was incredible. I drank a zero proof coconut pineapple cooler mocktail and it had a nice taste but an interesting aftertaste. Overall very cute place, although I will say it's not super cheap, I do like the family concept of the meals and how we shared everything! I'd say it's 40-70$ per person so make sure you bring enough:) read more

We tried the Summerlicious lunch menu and added a couple of skewers. Grilled Chicken Satay The chicken was juicy and not dry. The peanut sauce reminded me more of Chinese satay sauce than traditional satay--it was thick and covered the chicken completely, overpowering both the chicken itself and the turmeric spices. Personally, I prefer satay where the chicken is the star rather than the sauce. Beef Tongue Skewer Instead of the thick-cut beef tongue you'd find at an izakaya, this one uses thin slices stacked onto a skewer, more like Japanese yakiniku. The texture was tender, and each bite was packed with the sweet and tangy glaze. The downside is that the thin slices char easily, and some edges were a little overdone. Still, I thought it was an interesting idea. Charred Cabbage A generous portion that's great for sharing. The cabbage is paired with dan dan sauce, rayu, and kimchi furikake, bringing together Chinese, Japanese, and Korean flavors. None of them dominate, but they work surprisingly well together. Salmon Tartare The yuzu ponzu and avocado complemented the salmon beautifully. They enhanced its freshness while balancing the richness, making the dish bright and refreshing. Pork Belly Loco Moco A Hawaiian comfort food built around rice, meat, a runny egg, and gravy. This version uses charcoal-grilled pork belly and a sweet tonkatsu-style gravy, adding Japanese and Korean influences. It definitely feels like Pacific Fusion, although the different elements felt more like they were placed together than truly creating something new. Mochiko Fried Chicken My favorite dish of the meal. The crust was crisp and packed with flavor, rather than relying on a coating of sauce like Korean fried chicken. You first taste the seasoned crust, followed by juicy chicken. The rice also had a subtle coconut aroma that was a pleasant surprise. Mango Custard Tart Layers of mango jelly, salted cream, coconut Chantilly, and tart shell created a nice sweet-and-salty balance. Well executed, although it wasn't particularly memorable. Lemongrass Crémeux The lemongrass crémeux had a texture somewhere between mousse and pastry cream, with a slightly sandy richness that I really enjoyed. Pineapple jam added a vibrant tropical fruit note, while the mango pieces brought a pleasant contrast in texture. The lemongrass and sea salt tied everything together beautifully. A well-balanced sweet-and-savory dessert, and my favorite dessert of the meal. Overall, Lulu Bar is a fun Pacific Fusion spot with plenty of creative ideas. Not every dish was a hit, but several combinations really worked. It's the kind of place where you can enjoy some unique flavors without taking the meal too seriously, and that's exactly what I liked about it. read more

Hello - I am back with another review but this time with a group of people for a wedding. MY wedding. To book a large party for a special event you'd have to email them with your party dumber and then they give you menu options and price points. We went mid range and there was a great variety. What I loved was how easy it was and because I had been here before thế menu and ordering was easy to follow. It was here we discovered that the chef lived in Vietnam and Indonesia which informed his menu... call it serendipitous because my partner and I also happen to be Vietnamese and Indonesian and it was where we were going on our honeymoon - but I digress. They accommodated our party and were very attentive the entire time. The servers were so incredibly sweet and kept our water topped off. The food was even better the second time! It also helped thát we booked it during happy hour so we ended up getting discounted drinks too. The potato salad? Crispy exterior and soft exterior, so flavourful, and lots of textures. The miso cured egg? Give me like 10 of those. The heirloom beet salad? I was dancing in my seat. The Calamari? If you've had calamari before, meet her spicy sexy cousin. Thế chicken rice? Filling and delicious. The pita and dip? Perfect for a party. The steak? It was so good I forgot to take a picture of it and devoured it so fast. And we also received a very special surprise Alaskan icecream cake with a congratulatory message. We really appreciate the staff who made our day special and it was a great way to kick off our honeymoon. Thank you for a wonderful experience. Well recommend you to anyone and everyone! read more

If you need an escape to an upscale tropical bar in Toronto, you need to check out Lulu Bar. I came across this bar on a night out with some friends, and it was the perfect mix of tropical meets warm city bar. Drinks were IG worthy and tasted just as good as they looked! read more
I loved my experience at Lulu Bar! First off, the atmosphere is trendy and modern. The service was friendly and fast. The food was delicious; the scallops are to die for, the poke was so flavourful, and the chicken satay skewer was divine. The King Kona cocktail was so cute. There is convenient parking at the Well, since it can be hard to find parking in the area. I will be back! read more
Beautiful ambiance! It seemed sleepy then they took us upstairs and it was very lively. We had the duck, wok fried noodles, and the lao sausage. Everything we ate was delicious! The duck is the best bang for your buck as it's served 2 ways and with crepes and toppings. The noodles needed more noodles, it was heavier on toppings. The Don Muraco was one of the best cocktails I've ever had. While it was all delicious, I just left feeling like things should have been slightly cheaper. read more

Located at the well, we came for happy hour. The happy hour menu was great, had a good variety of different small bites and drinks. We liked all the cocktails we ordered. Service was good as well. Place was clean and I loved the interior/ vibe of the restaurant. read more
Lulu Bar located at The Well is a Calgary-based restaurant that opened in Toronto. The restaurant is actually a partnership with Oliver and Bonacini (not specifically part of the O&B group restaurants). Spanning 2 floors, Lulu Bar serves Pacific-inspired sharable dishes in a fun and vibrant setting. The menu has a variety of dishes that take inspiration from lots of countries that border the Pacific ocean (Hawaii, Asia, California, and B.C.) and is divided into snacks, small plates and larger plates. The cocktail and beverage list is lengthy as well where there are alcoholic and plenty of non-alcoholic options. My husband and I decided to dine at Lulu Bar on a Sat night. I've heard so much hype about this place since it opened and the menu looked super interesting and unique. We did make reservations in advance. As soon as we arrived we checked in with the hostess and she told us to make our way to the 2nd floor (where the main dining room and open kitchen are located). We sat down and our lovely waiter explained the whole menu to us. Throughout the night, service was great. The meal was paced well and our server always made sure to change our plates as well as checked up on us. He was also engaging, friendly, and personable. Drinks wise, I ordered the zero-proof coconut cooler and my husband ordered a beer. The coconut cooler was a tropical delight, as if I'd be transported to a beach. Loved it! Food wise, we ordered the following items to share: - Hot dog bao (char siu, pickled mustard greens, banana ketchup, peanut) - French omelette (green curry, dungeness crab, bibb lettuce, brioche) - Burger (beef chuck, grilled spam, American cheese, ginger dills, Hawaiian bun) - French omelette (green curry, dungeness crab, bibb lettuce, broiche) - Wok fried Thai noodles (wheat noodles, beef brisket, gai lan, Thai basil, chili, soy) - House spam skewers (toasted nori, ginger dill pickles) - The Baked Hula (kona coffee, macadamia, dark chocolate) All the dishes we ordered tasted great. The hot dog bao was surprisingly delicious and I could have eaten a few of these on my own. The French omelette was unique with the green curry and the dungeness inside. The omelette was executed perfectly which I appreciate. The burger was tasty as well with ingredients that all complemented and worked well together (tip - ask for the burger to be made medium well!). The house spam skewers had a smokey element to it which added to the meat. The texture of the wok fried Thai noodles with so smooth and silky and all the flavours of the components of the dish were packed with flavour - the Thai basil really put the dish together. Really loved the experience here. I've gone twice and I had the same server. Absolutely the same quality of positivity each time! Although this time I had a couple of things that were not as great as the first - the ambiance made up for it. The hot dog Bao was certainly a flavourful surprise! Recommend that as well as the coconut tres leches cake. My other surprising flavour bomb was the salt and pepper pork belly. The vinegar dip was good when the dish was crunchy but a bit over powering the longer it sat in this so - I would order this again but that sauce on the side! The udon chips I had were interesting but to be honest a little greasy. Conceptually great idea! read more

I had a great experience at LuLu Bar. The service is attentive, staff are friendly, and food is good. The plates would come out with an explanation of how they were prepared which I liked. The happy hour is a great deal, especially for the cocktails. Beautiful interior as well. read more
My friend and I went for the dinner summerlicious menu and ordered one of each plus a chip and dip. We were seated on the first floor across from the bar and I really loved the vibe and decor the restaurant set pictured below. Our hostess and service staff were very attentative and we never felt like we were left in the dark. The entrées were alright, but the mains was a touch too spicy for me. The Fusion menu is great but the dishes are hit or miss. While some of their dishes are good, many are way too salty. Came here for Summerlicious. The results: 1 - Hot Dog Bao - Good 2 - Sichuan Noodle Salad - Not Good - Dressing was way too salty and the Chili sauce used in the dressing should not be eaten raw in my opinion - tastes bad. 3 - Coconut Tres Leches Cake - Good Additional stuff I ordered: - Fried Miso Cured Egg - OK. A little salty, especially the Cucumber Salad underneath - King Kona alcoholic coffee cocktail - Not my thing. Also the entire top was just plain ice while all the ingredients were at the bottom. - California Sober - Better than King Kona ... I would return to try other menu items but there are items above that I would definitely not order again. read more
This Calgary-based restaurant opened on 2024-01-19 at The Well. The ground floor is more of a cocktail lounge, and the upstairs is a huge restaurant seating area. There is an open kitchen and a long bar. There is table seating and bar seating. I ordered the Burger ($17). It is made with beef chuck, grilled spam, American cheese, ginger dills, and a steam bun. It was very delicious with the mix of flavours and a hint of tang. The service was excellent. The decorations were classy. I could see by the menu that many of their items have very interesting ingredients. I have to come back to try other items. They have multiple brands. There are a total of 25 restaurants in Calgary. This is their first easterly location. There is free WiFi. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible. There is an elevator to go to the second floor. There are washrooms upstairs. Very cool spot in Toronto, near the CN Tower. We had three servers for various parts of the dining process and they were all great. Unique Hawaiian dishes, which my son and I were not familair with, but very much enjoyed. Our main server was very informative about the various dishes and had a fun personality. Really solid food. We went as a group during Happy Hour on a weekday. There was ample seating and the interior is spacious and very well-decorated. It was my first time trying Hawaiian fusion so I didn't know what to expect, but enjoyed everything I got to try: - Beef Tongue Skewer - SO tender and it melted in my mouth. Not what I expected "tongue" to taste like at all. - Kale Salad - really unique and interesting flavours! The macadamia nuts added a really distinct flavour and crunch. Many people in my party were skeptical that they'd like a salad but we were all pleasantly surprised. - Hot Dog Bao - tasty, sweet but not necessarily a unique flavour given we all know what a hot dog tastes like - Chicken Skewer - juicy and tender, the sauce was also good but not the most memorable - The Kimchi Dip - SO addictive with their homemade chips! Highly recommend sharing. - I had a bite of the burger which was also very good Sorry I can't comment on the drinks since I didn't order any! But my friends seemed to enjoy the drinks very much. Came here for their daily 2-5pm happy hour which includes 50% off all drinks and selected food options. I tried the smooth operator and fever dream drinks. For food we tried the hot dog bao and smashed potatoes. Both were very flavourful and something i'd order again. The drinks are amazing! Fever dream stole the show. If you like the taste of coconut cream, try this!! The service was good. I recommend making a reservation as it's typically busy especially friday-sunday. read more
Caught up with some girlfriends at Lulu Bar over happy hour, and we had a great time. We ordered the kale salad, chips and dip, and crispy potatoes to share. A great addition to The Well. The main floor has bar seating and a few tables, but the upstairs is where the vibes are. Plenty of seating, open kitchen, and where the magic happens! If you are wanting to check this place out, try between 3-6pm daily as that's happy hour. Drinks (including cocktails) are half price, and there is a small, but good happy hour menu! While it obviously does prepare many dishes with spam, (Lulu's restaurant is in Hawaii, where spam is frequent item there), you can certainly ask if certain dishes can have spam removed. We tried the udon chips and spicy kimchi dip. Delicious! The chips reminded me of this fried Indian snack. Nice airy texture, good crunch! The Musubi rolls (we had the Thai omelette option), was good, but I dipped it into the kimchi dip and it definitely amped up the flavours. I feel like it definitely needed a spice kick. The fried cured egg was good as well, nothing that blew my socks off. I probably wouldn't order it again The drinks are what shine here though. Unique and let's be honest, we all wanted the ones with the cool glasses (Nine lives)! The service was so lovely, everyone kind, taking the time to explain things and just friendly! Food 4/5 Ambiance 4/5 Service 5/5 Located at the Well, hubby & I wanted to try this restaurant because we were in the area. It's on the outside of The Well facing Wellington Street. We didn't know where it was until we looked at the electric directory panel inside the Well. This restaurant has two levels, with the ground floor being more of a lounge and the upstairs where people can sit down in groups to eat. There is a small elevator to go upstairs. I didn't see a staircase but that could be because the entryway was really small. Right when you enter the restaurant the hostess is there to help. Luckily I had made a reservation so we were brought upstairs right away. We were seated at a table for two right in front of the open kitchen. We could see the chefs preparing the food for waitstaff to pick up. That was really interesting but it was also very hot. LOL. Being right beside the kitchen we started to feel really warm & took off what layers we could. The place looks nice. The decor is pale beige walls, brushed gold metal on the chairs, upholstered banquet seats and small tables with a stone-like top. There is also some sofas with low tables off to the sides in tucked away corners. There was also music playing in the background. There are about 4 single bathrooms at the back of the restaurant which were all clean & big enough to accomodate the average sized person. I don't recall seeing a handicap bathroom but I wasn't really looking for it either. We had a waiter named Leo who was really a nice, cool, relaxed dude. I ordered the steak with mushrooms & a side of rice. Hubby ordered a Bao, Chicken Skewers, and the Burger with spam. I loved the steak & mushrooms. The steamed rice was dry for my taste. Hubby really liked his food. The burger with spam is messy because of the sauce they put on it. The food was good, though a bit overpriced in my opinion compared to what you can get elsewhere. I read the food was supposed to be Hawaiian inspired but I didn't get that feeling from the dishes. Though, I'm not that familiar with Hawaiian dishes either! I've heard Hawaiians like spam but spam is also common in other cultures. I'm Filipino & I grew up eating spam. LOL. Anyway, It was a good experience for what it was. People here were mostly dressed well in designer clothes but some were also dressed very casually in jeans & a hoodie. One lady though was wearing (or not wearing) a very revealing top which showcased almost all of her cleavage. Not a sight I would want to see at a restaurant. LOL. I'm only giving this restaurant 4 stars because it's a very loud place & it's expensive. My steak & mushrooms came to about $40. I could get more food & good quality food for that price at The Keg. This isn't the place for a quiet meal. I'm wondering if it was super busy because hubby & I went during happy hour. It would be interesting to visit this place & see if it's as loud when it's not happy hour. Btw, there is a 2 hour time limit for a party of two. If you're a party of three I think you get 2.5 hours. Lulu bar is very upfront about this time limit when I made the reservation using open table. I even got a text the morning of our reservation to remind us of the time limit. read more
Great food, fun vibes, and good service. We were seated quickly for our reservation and our server was knowledgeable and attentive. We shared the edamame, kimchi dip, coconut squid, and noodles. The squid was the best dish for sure. The edamame has a wasabi dressing that's very strong. I was expecting tiny it to be a bit milder. I ordered a very tasty mocktail as well. Food 3/5 Service 4/5 Vibe 5/5 Highly recommend the Coconut Cooler if you cant decide on which cocktail to go for. Its definitely not as pretty as the other ones with the cute cup or the flaming lime, but money wise and flavour wise this is the best. (You cant really taste the coconut, and its sweet which is perf coz ironically I'm not a fan of coconut, and its the perfect balance of sweetness) Food wise, its meh. The beef tongue will be my favourite dish all night. But everything else was alright (please dont hate). Its just not my cup of tea~ Note: the duck dish is their signature dish. No hate but it kinda feels like the Beijing peking duck dish but an American version. Taste wise 3.5/5. Overall its a great spot for pictures and drinks, but food wise, i would say maybe go somewhere else for food and come back for drinks read more
