    El Presidente.

I was wandering around, trying to find a decent happy hour, when I stumbled upon Miss Likklemore's. I'd just seen the joint on Top Chef, so I figured why not pop in for a drink and a bite? I grabbed a seat at the bar and began perusing their happy hour menu. For my drink, I opted for the El Presidente ("mount gay eclipse rum, cointreau, dry vermouth, bitters"). It's a solid cocktail. The flavors all worked well together, and it actually complemented my food quite well. I wound up getting the Likkle Patties ("braised oxtail & spicy beef, fermented mango hot sauce"), which I enjoyed very much. The patties are packed with plentiful, flavorful meat, while that hot sauce is zesty and spicy. It's a really good snack. Now I'm obviously curious about Miss Likklemore's standard menu, so I'll certainly be returning.

Miss Likklemore's was such a great experience. The drinks were excellent, the food was good, and the Caribbean-inspired vibe really stood out. The ambiance was exquisite; warm, lively, and perfect for a night out. Service was smooth and friendly, which made the whole evening even better. Definitely a spot I'd come back to for cocktails and atmosphere.

One-of-a-kind, upscale, Caribbean restaurant downtown! Overall, this was a really unique spot. A bit on the pricey side, but something nice to have on occasion. Will come back sometime soon! Food: 4/5 Likkle Patties - 4/5 - Thought these were really unique and tasty; loved the hot sauce that accompanied it. They are oxtail patties as well, so they're unique compared to beef patties. Fried Rock Shrimp - 4/5 - Loved these; full of flavour and what you'd expect! Charcoal Grilled Chicken - 3.5/5 - Not sure why, but I didn't love it. I think it's because I found it a bit too charred. However, the party I was with all loved it. Creek Stone Hanger Steak - 4.2/5 - I loved this because I am a huge fan of chimmichuri. If you are a fan of chimmichuri, you'll like this. Not necessarily the best steak ever, but definitely a great flavour! Dragon Stout Short Ribs - 4.3/5 I think this was my favourite thing on the menu; the beef was so soft and it had a nice savoury flavour. I recommend these! Sweet Potato Mash (not pictured) - 4.5/5 I loved this also; so tasty and it's what I remember the most from the restaurant... I'd get this as a side, especially along with a main with a lot of protein. Atmosphere: 4.5/5 We came on a Saturday night and the atmosphere was bumping. There was a live DJ and the music was so much fun.. they played some afro, rnb, and more. They also play a fun birthday song anytime there's a birthday celebration too. Service - 4.5/5 Our waiter was really friendly and gave us some good recommendations, great service!

This dinner was the food highlight of our Toronto trip. Amazing! From the service, upscale lounge like vibes and decor, mood lighting, open/peek through kitchen to see as the chefs were cooking and of course the food made this a top dining experience. Our server (Jules I believe is her name) was the best! She was extremely attentive, gave good vibes and recommendations as people were trying to make meal decisions, warm and friendly, and really made the night special in allowing us to have two birthday desserts as I was celebrating my birthday and so was another friend in our group . All of the staff were extremely polite, friendly and welcoming actually, with someone (I believe a manager) coming over to make sure we were having a good experience once or twice during our dining experience. Now to the food. Because I saw reviews about it - and I love me some good seafood - I ordered the Fried Snapper. When I typically order this from Jamaican places, it is usually made escoveich or stewed down with the vegetables. This was different but still felt familiar because the vegetables were still escoveich but on the side and, of course, the snapper was completely fried with some fillet pieces fried and placed on top of the whole snapper. It was delicious! Well seasoned, nice crispy. The vegetables were cooked well also and the Debbie's hot pepper sauce has a nice kick to it - I like spicy foods, so choose to order that or any of the pepper sauces at your own risk . I had to orders of the Likklemore Punch which is their version of a rum punch and babyyyy, I was not disappointed! The rum was rumming but not overpowering in liquor taste - but you know liquor is there lol. And the dessert was - literally and figuratively - the icing on the cake for an amazing dining experience. Me and the other birthday girl ordered desserts to compliment one another - the Miss Paula's Carrot Cake and the Rum Raisin Ice Cream. The ice cream was also giving good amounts of rum to it and the cake was moist and tasty. Wonderful food, good music and vibes and excellent service... Highly recommend checking them out!

Ugh I truly hate leaving 3 star reviews. If I'm being honest it's a borderline two. Let me explain. Ok so first off our hostess/ waitress was incredible! She really made our experience great! She gave us drink recommendations which was spot on and explained the menu to us. Now, getting to the menu. Here's my thing...titles are important! When you read the title and description of a thing, you then set an expectation for what you are about to get...that is the biggest reason for the two star borderline experience . The menu listed doubles. If you are Caribbean, when you hear or read doubles you think Trini pocket sized stuffed with your nice curry chick peas, All the things right? Well, no. It was served as what I would call a chick pea taco! It was crispy shelled dough with chickpeas in it. Not only did it not have that yummy curry taste, they added cilantro . Like why call it doubles , why not just call it tacos. I was so thrown off it left me disappointed, Then we get to the Jamaican oxtails. Now I'm Jamaican so don't tell me bout no oxtails and call it Jamaican and then serve what they served. While the meat was incredibly tender...that taste was NOT IT! Jerk chicken was dry! Hands down the best item on the menu is the fry fish! Now that thannggg was incredible. You HAVE to order it. Forget everything else and just come here for that. As far as sides go, the Mac was just okay to me. Pass on the rice..it was dry. But the sweet mash!!!yeaaaas that's the one! That was my fav !! The music was great. Vibe was cool. To me the experience was a let down because the menu seemed like a Jamaican or Caribbean experience but there were no Caribbean flavors outside of scotch bonnet . I'm not saying don't come here. I'm just saying manage your expectations

This restaurant had a very nice aesthetic and staff were helpful. I loved the likkle patties and Mac pie with oxtail on top - 10/10! We also got the Jerk chicken but I thought it was a too dry and not really worth it in my opinion. Their tres leches with mango on top was absolutely delicious and the presentation was beautiful. I thought it was kinda pricey but overall I really enjoyed my experience here and would recommend it!

Amazing food, everything was succulent and made with lots of flavour. The ambience and vibe was nice, just the music and chatter was loud to be able to have conversation. The smoke smell from the kitchen went into my jacket and hair which I wasn't happy about! Servers were friendly and explained the popular items well. Loved the food and would go back in a heartbeat! The house hot sauces are amazing yum!

The oxtail was savory and melted as I ate it. So good!! The empanadas had a sweet taste and the shell was flaky but not oily. My daughter loved the Mac n cheese. The sauce had tangy flavors and it achieved the perfect cheese consistency! Our servers were amazing, personable and so kind. The ambiance is chill, classy and fun for all ages. The dinner offers a communal dining experience. Where you can select your sides paired with platter options. It's a great way to explore culinary experiences in a shared community. Such a fun way to connect with family/ loved ones. Definitely a must return!!

For me, a restaurant's a hit when I'm already planning on who I can return with during my first meal. Such was the case with Miss Likklemore's, one spoon of the sock-you-in-the-mouth rice from the crab XO ($62) and I was hooked. If risotto made sweet love to a tropical gumbo, perhaps this is would be their love child. To say it's flavourful is an understatement: there's a rich savouriness, hits of tangy spice from pickled chilis, a sweet tropical essence from pineapple (?) and toasted coconut chips, and a hit of freshness from the occasional cilantro. If Miss Likklemore's was a real person, I sense she wouldn't care about etiquette. The jerk chicken ($35) is carved but served bone-in so that those who are dainty can stick with the hunks of tender breast meat, but the real chicken fans will gladly grab onto the drumstick, thigh, or the ultra-flavourful wing. There wasn't a dry portion on the bird and the flavours were bang on - a subtle spice that builds and lingers on the tongue but not overly pungent. If you want an extra boost of flavour, more gravy is included to douse and dip. Given the oxtail ($65) is swimming in gravy, it somewhat resists getting cold. Yet, you'll want a few friends to order this sizeable dish as the pieces of beef are huge and meaty, the size of a short rib, cooked just to the point of tender without being overly soft. Still, after some of the more flavourful dishes, I did find the oxtail blander in comparison... ideally, this would be served with a hot sauce so diners could amp up the flavour on the gravy. And it's a sauce you won't want to waste so make sure to order a side of fragrant coconut rice ($12). Of all the dishes, only the fried snapper ($75) disappointed. While it was beautifully presented and the deboned fillets were cooked to flakey perfection, it was so heavily seasoned that the saltiness gave it a bitter tone. Ultimately, I had to scrape the snapper's flesh out of the breading to enjoy it. Even then, I hardly needed the escovitch dipping sauce, the fish's flesh already salty enough, indicating how much seasoning was used on the batter that it'd seep through so thoroughly. On both weeknight visits, the service was attentive and top-notch, dishes arrive at a good clip without feeling overly rushed. If I had one complaint, it'd be nonchalant attitude to criticism. After each dish was presented, our server would give us ten minutes then stop by to see how things were tasting - us raving about how good it is, of course. Except for the fried snapper where I commented how overly salted it was that it's barely edible. Disappointingly, there wasn't a reaction... no "sorry to hear about that, I'll let the chef know", no offer for a replacement, nada. In my opinion, if a restaurant's not ready to right a wrong, they shouldn't bother asking for feedback to start.

The food was delicious. I would say if you are into oxtail to try to oxtail hash! The potatoes are perfectly seasoned and crispy. The music was great if you are into the last 90s/early 2000s top 100 music. The crowd was a bit lively but it was pretty low key. Two thumbs up!!

Great food! Can't stop thinking about their beef patties! Started off the meal with with a cocktail. Can't recall which one it was but the one with the egg white froth - and wow it was delicious! The food here was absolutely amazing! And had me wanting to come back again even before the meal ended! Atmosphere is also great and spacious with friendly servers. Here's what we got: Likkle Patties 5/5 - these are mini beef patties that are made of braised oxtail and spicy beef. Served with a side of fermented mango hot sauce. These were ah-mazing, it's a bougie beef pattie that is out of this world! Nuff Nuff Slaw 5/5 - So pretty to look at! It's served with papaya vinaigrette, compressed pear, jicama, kohlrabi and peanuts. This was so refreshing and crunchy to the palette. Paired oh so perfectly to our main dish! Slow Braised Oxtail 5/5 - The star of the show! This was so well cooked, such deep flavours and fall off the bone! I wanted to slurp up the sauce on the plate! A must get! To end off the meal, we got the Miss Paula's Carrot Cake to share. It's topped with cream cheese, candied ginger and walnut crumble. This was also a 5/5. But let me tell you, it is large. And I mean, LARGE. It's a full cake meant for sharing at $18. Trust me, we were shocked for a party of 2 to get such a large dessert! Check out the restaurant as the flavours are so rich and deep. Delicious!

I love this place and will definitely be back. Amazing ambience, music, decor, lovely staff. I can't complain. I had the Mac pie and it was delicious - creamy, spicy and full of flavour. It was cooked perfectly and had a nice crunch on the top. The patties were also delicious, great spice, tender meat and full of flavour. I'm really looking forward to coming back here in the future.

Food: 4/5 - Appetizers were just OK - Entrees were delicious - Desserts were excellent Service: 5/5 - The next dish comes out almost right after we were finished eating, therefore very attentive staff Ambiance: 5/5 - Each seating area of the restaurant has a completely different look/feel and all are designed/decorated beautifully - Very fun and energetic playlist - Great date night spot, yet it's also equally suitable for casual dining.

The next was the Crab Dip ($20.75), it was hot but not overly tasty. 3rd was the Hot Chicken Bites with pickles ($16.00). They were ok but not hot in temp enough. The final was the Chili Citrus Calamari ($21.25). This was the worse of the dishes. Simply put, it was cold. The server removed this from our bill. In summary...I wouldn't go out of my way again to go here but given all things being equal, the servers were very good. As a final note...the bathroom was very clean & well maintained.

The Strawberry Tetsu tasted like a dessert and was delicious, with a graham cracker crumble rim. The Cloudy Oolong had a strong tea taste which I loved, as sometimes the tea can get lost in a cocktail. The foam on top was addicting and paired nicely with it, similar to a bubble tea. The cocktail menu leans heavily into Asian-inspired flavors, and that is what makes it stand out. Every drink feels thoughtfully developed rather than relying on presentation alone. We tried the Cloudy Oolong, which was especially memorable with its rich tea flavor and creamy cheese foam that added a savory depth to the cocktail. Located on the 31st floor of the St. Regis Hotel, the restaurant has an incredible atmosphere. The dining room is absolutely stunning with a classy and luxurious feel, but it still feels comfortable and inviting rather than too formal. We started the evening with cocktails before moving into the Summerlicious menu. I ordered the "I Only Drink When I Smoke," which was a great way to start the night. It had a subtle smoky flavour with a touch of sweetness, and the alcohol was not overpowering at all. It was smooth, easy to sip on, and the perfect drink to enjoy while having conversations. For my Summerlicious menu, I started with the Tartare de Boeuf and Caviar. The filet mignon tartare was fresh and really smooth, with a nice balance of rich and savoury flavours. The toasted bread also gave it a nice crunch and paired really well with the tartare. For the main course, I had the Roasted Chateaubriand Filet. When the plate was served, the meat looked really rare as I saw nothing but red on the meat, but it was incredibly tender, making it easy to cut through. It was full of flavour, and the sauce complemented the steak without being too heavy or salty. The vegetables added a nice balance to the dish, and the creamy mashed potatoes were smooth, and definitely one of my favourite parts of the meal. To finish, I had the Mango Passionfruit Cheesecake. It was creamy without feeling too heavy. Though the fruity flavours from the mango passionfruit were a bit tart and sweet for my palate, it still gave an overall refreshing touch. The crust added a nice texture, and it was the perfect ending to the meal. Beyond the food, what really stood out was the service and pacing of the evening. Each course arrived at the right time, allowing us to enjoy every dish without feeling rushed. The price point is definitely on the higher end, so it is not somewhere I would personally visit for a casual dinner on a regular basis. However, for a special occasion, celebration, or a night where you want to enjoy a beautiful dining experience, I think Louix Louis would be a great choice... and for $75/ person for Summerlicious/ Winterlicious, definitely a great value to sample the chefs' artistry. Overall, it was a memorable evening with an elegant atmosphere, thoughtfully prepared dishes, and great service. I can definitely understand why this spot has become such a popular destination, and I would love to come back again for Winterlicious!

Perched high above the bustle of downtown Toronto, LOUIX LOUIS makes a compelling first impression…read more The dining room is genuinely handsome -- a study in polished Art Deco glamour softened by sweeping city views that lend every table a sense of occasion. On a Valentine's Day brunch visit, the atmosphere alone was enough to justify the reservation. The kitchen demonstrates genuine competence: dishes arrive with care, the pacing is unhurried, and the mise en scène -- from tableside presentation to that now-famous thirteen-layer chocolate cake -- reveals an establishment that understands the theatre of fine dining. That towering slice of chocolate cake, in particular, is a masterstroke of marketing and pastry craft in equal measure; it draws the eye, earns its reputation, and very nearly steals the show. Where LOUIX LOUIS gives one pause is in the cuisine's ability to fully match its surroundings. The cooking is accomplished and reliably pleasant, yet seldom rises to the level of genuine distinction one might hope for at this price point. Dishes satisfy without surprising; technique is evident but inspiration, at moments, feels held in reserve. For the corporate traveller or the visitor seeking a polished, geographically convenient showcase of the city's skyline, this represents an entirely sound choice. For those seeking an experience whose flavours linger as long as the view, the kitchen has room yet to grow into its magnificent stage. Service is attentive and well-intentioned, though it can occasionally want for the depth of knowledge that elevates a good meal into a memorable one. LOUIX LOUIS is, in sum, a very good restaurant striving -- not quite yet arriving -- at greatness. The bones are exceptional; one hopes the culinary vision will, in time, catch up with them.
