Because the break is severe enough to needing surgery, my mom wanted to see an orthopedic specialist asap. My mom was going to go to Doylestown Hospital ED but someone from Tower Health supposedly told her that it would be POINTLESS to go because they would just do the same treatment as theirs. Instead, the provider referred her to Rothman Orthopedics located at Lankenau Medical Center, which is 1 HOUR AWAY at 3:30pm. HOWEVER, my mom did not leave urgent care until 3PM but supposedly they told my mom that as long as theres an appointment made, it will be okay. We rushed through heavy traffic. I assumed that my mother was aware of the office hours. We made it to Rothman around 4:15pm. The problem is that there were no doctors available because they closed at 4:30PM. While my mom is crying because of the intense pain, I called Tower Health for any other recs because their only recommendation was no good. The guy told me, "so what do you want me to say?" He could have at least said "go to the ED" and/or be EMPATHETIC to our situation. We could have avoided this whole shenanigans and hours of traveling by going to ED at the first place. The provider at Tower Health made poor recommendations -- the appointment that was arranged was impossible to make on time. My mother is not medical savvy so she took everything to what the people at Tower Health said to heart. I am a registered nurse so naturally I was appalled by how my mother told me happened . Showing empathy and compassion goes a LONG way to providing excellent patient care/experience. If I was the provider, I would have been realistic and even google the times the office is open. I think it is good practice to know the days/times the office is closed before making any urgent referrals. This would usually not bother me as much but because my mom was having 10/10 pain and walking around with a BROKEN WRIST, I can think of so many different ways her experience could have been and how they communicated to her. I would NOT recommend this place.

I was getting a little nervous at this point and feeling a bit panicked about getting help. I decided to take a chance and left a very long line outside in the freezing cold of another urgent care waiting for number and drove up to Tower Health to see how they were dealing with rapid testing. Immediately met an intake person (I didn't catch her name, sorry) said only PCR (which I didn't care, just wanted to see a doctor) and then later called me, as I waited in my warm car, (30 mins, and I know I would still be outside at the other urgent care waiting for only a number, and said the words I needed to hear: "You're up bud"! I have to say I felt a sense of relief, silly I know, but when you feel like you are coughing up your lungs and having difficulty breathing, and it's NOT COVID!, you begin to feel a little claustrophobic. From the intake person, to Mandy (nurse) and Sima Assefi, MD, I felt like I was surrounded by the "A" Team! Professionals each one, efficient, direct, fast, and personable to me the entire time. Made me feel like I was the only patient in the office, which of course I wasn't. Mandy walked me back, took my vitals and history, determined an initial course of action with Dr. Assefi, and done. Dr. Assefi then immediately swooped in, diagnosed me as having guess what? Bronchitis. Only by now it was pretty bad, worst case I've ever had, she immediately took aggressive action. Mandy put me on a Nebulizer for about 5-7 mins, Dr. Assefi came back in, listened to my lungs again and announced now I hear your lungs fully expanding! WOW! She gave me not just the one antibiotic prescription but two other drugs to get this kicked out of me, fast! I've been around healthcare a long-time, as in an - olderfart. Both as a patient and professionally. Used to fly medevac helicopters back in the day with a flight nurse and paramedic on board. Those folks know time is of the essence every time they climbed aboard. This Tower Health team reminded me of those flight nurses and paramedics, fast, efficient, really knew their medical stuff! An "A" Team! You folks are pretty amazing! Thank you!!

Five Stars Isn't Enough for St. Luke's Hospital…read more From the moment I arrived at St. Luke's Hospital, I knew I was in the best possible place. The immediate care and attention I received was nothing short of exceptional. Every single nurse, doctor, and staff member I encountered was professional, compassionate, polite, and genuinely kind. You don't just feel like a patient here--you feel cared for as a person. The cleanliness of this hospital deserves special recognition. It is, without a doubt, the cleanest medical facility I have ever been in. Everything was spotless, organized, and calming, which makes a huge difference when you're staying for multiple nights. Speaking of staying--my five-night stay was so comfortable that I honestly didn't want to leave. The rooms were quiet, comfortable, and thoughtfully maintained. Any time I needed something, it was handled immediately and with a smile. Now let's talk about the food--because wow. The food was absolutely amazing. I was able to order whatever I wanted, even doubles, with zero hesitation or attitude. No questions asked--just great service and great meals. That level of care and flexibility is something you don't expect in a hospital, but St. Luke's delivers it flawlessly. One of the moments that truly stood out to me was during the night when I couldn't sleep. I asked for tea, and without delay, a nurse brought it to me. Not once--but multiple times throughout the night. That kind of attentiveness and compassion is rare and speaks volumes about the culture and people who work here. I truly cannot say enough good things about St. Luke's Hospital. From the immediate service, to the friendly and caring staff, to the comfort, cleanliness, and incredible food--this hospital sets the gold standard for patient care. If I ever need hospital care again, there is nowhere else I would rather go. Thank you, St. Luke's, for making what could have been a very difficult time feel safe, comfortable, and supported every step of the way. Hands down, the best hospital experience I've ever had.
