I'll be honest, I don't quite post nearly as often as I'd like because many of my experiences fall within the range of "just okay". It takes the exceptionally good or exceptionally bad to inspire my passion to provide details. Fortunately, St.Oners falls squarely in the former. ENVIRONMENT I have to first note the staff were incredibly patient, knowledgeable and seemingly passionate about the establishment. You might find one of those qualities in a good spot but very rarely all three. Inside,they have about 6-8 bar seats and 5 booths. Despite this, the layout still felt spacious. FOOD I have a favorite spot in the city for an affordable burger/fries. It has not changed in over 8 years but I can proudly report it's been dethroned. St.Oners offers a burger/fries for $12 which is a happy hour deal in most other establishments. Both seemed to be made with care and were quite delicious. If you're in the forever changing Fishtown area and need an option that doesn't leave your wallet throbbing look no further. Happy eats! read more

It's a cozy brewery in Fishtown and a branch of Tired Hands. If you remove the space and period it's called Stoners. They even have a local version of Alien church brewed at or for this location that smells like weed. They have a nice selection of drafts and cans and also great merch. The bartenders are always knowledgeable and friendly and the Mexican street for is very good too. We even tried the pub pretzel which was served with both mustard and a beer cheese dips and was fresh and hot. The homemade tortilla chips with the trio of salsas is also a great snack. read more

I love St Oners. It's nice to have Tired Hands beer without needing to drive to Ardmore. Tired hands is honestly arguably the best brewery in Philly IMO. I've never had a bad beer. Perfect spot for a quick bite and beer while shopping around Fishtown! I love the cozy vibe and their diverse rotating draft list. Went to get a few drinks at the bar. The whole restaurant smelled (and felt) like walking through a vat of old grease. I don't know if this was an aberration or a normal weekday, but it's hard to describe how strong the smell (and feel) was. I'll note that the windows were open and the ceiling fans going, and I still felt like I had to go home and wash my hair after sitting in the place for less than an hour. The cocktails were good. St. Oners was a total surprise to me. I had been to the OG Tired Hands and Fermentaria by this group out on the mainline but this place had alluded me. My friends suggestion and willingness to go here with me was all the reason I needed. The staff were all super friendly and helpful when it came to decision making for both drinks and food. The beers I had were flavorful and well described so I knew exactly what I was getting into. The food was inventive and perfectly executed. I came here to try out the new brewery and meet up with some friends. I was fairly impressed with the set up as I feel like they used the space properly! As we walked in we were immediately greeted and advised that we could sit anywhere as we waited for the rest of our party to arrive. Our waitress was very kind and recommended a few different beers we could try and after doing so there was a clear winner (Alien Church). Once we joined our group, which was around a group of 15, we were allowed to take up the back space and just float around. God, I actually can't believe this restaurant IS FINALLY OPEN. I feel like I've been stoping by the Comcast Center Tired Hands General Store for eons and asking about when this joint was going to finally be open and then BAM, surprise, here we are folks! Let me start off by saying this: Make. A. Reservation. They're currently on Resy, but not OpenTable. The place is crampppped and waiting for an hour and a half for one of their (10?) tables was no joke. It sounds like you're cool to hang out (lol quite literally in what space?? Near the kitchen and bathroom??) and wait for the first come, first serve bar seating, (which IMO seems to be the more comfortable option) but who has the patience for that. I walked in around 5, put my name in with the hostess, she took my number down and I was put into a digital queue. Don't go to far though-- once your name is "called," they'll only hold your place for 10 minutes. The table situation, like I said, is tiiight. As a lady with a large booty, I felt kindof awkward trying to squeeze between my neighbor's table and my own to sit on the bench side, while my boyfriend was brushed up against all night sitting on the outside of the table with a standard chair, back facing the bar. Nothing really you can do about the overall availability of space, but definitely worth mentioning. Their drink menu offered a small assortment of their cult favorite beers like Alien Church, whatever various MilkShake IPA they had running that week, along with a selection of the PLAIICES cider and wine, as well some of their generally bottled brews like Ourison Saison, Prayer Group Lager, YUMB Saison Sour, and Creek Field witbier. I was pleased to find that they also had a short cocktail list of about 4-5 creations which all sounded lovely. In terms of non- alcoholic they offered their 333 Kombucha, Awake Minds Coffee, MINNA tea, Mexican Coke, and the ever bougie Top Chico mineral water. The food menu was short but vibrant, offering a Asian-inspired dishes, such as "Leftover" Lo Mein ($11.00) made with hand pulled chilled noodles, veggies and ginger scallion sauce and Salt & Pepper Wings ($8.00) made with the chefs mix of black pepper heavy spices, and Serrano. The Lo Mein noddles were seemingly peppered and more exciting than their name suggested. All of the veggies were crisp and fresh (an oxymoron to the "leftover title") and I couldn't get enough of the noodles. I had actually ordered these as my meal, but as my boyfriend and I soon realized, all of these plates were more or less meant to share, and served as such. The Salt & Pepper wings were crispy but not burnt, and the dry rub was evenly distributed throughout the surface of the wing/drum. I hate when dry rubs get caught up in a clump and this was not the case. My boyfriend and I also got the Kung Pao Cauliflower Fried Rice ($13.00) which was made with with a savory sauce, veggies and ma la peanut crunch (ma la is a spicy Sichuan peppercorn based oil, and VERY SPICY if you're not used to it) as well as the Twice Cooked Pork Belly ($18.00) which was served with five-spice (a spice mixture of five or more spices used predominantly in almost all branches of Chinese cuisines and Vietnamese cuisine) alliums, (a flowering plant that includes hundreds of species, most commonly know as including the cultivated onion, garlic, scallion, shallot, leek, and chives) and jalapeños. If I'm being honest, it was mostly the veggies and scarce pork. Served with a side of white rice. This dish was okay. Stick to the noodles, rice, and snacks IMO. Overall the dining experience was high class but the space was cramped; the food was good, but I really wanted to like everything just a little bit more. I was impressed with the cocktail list and the essential Tired Hands brews as well as the bottle offerings. I was oddly fond of the plates that laid mostly flat to the table with a short brim (Japanese or Scandanavia style I believe) and the chopsticks weren't slippery and difficult to eat with like some places I've been to in the city (Thank God). I think next time we'll come during the week and (hopefully) sit at the bar instead. I'm interested to see what they did with the ice-cream dessert and try their other cocktails. Our server was very accommodating when we started out at a table but then joined a large group next to the bar, and kept track of our individual tabs perfectly. We got some fries to tide us over which were fine, but I'm definitely going to return to try some of the actual food items on the menu . Ever evolving list of beers (mainly IPAs); they offer wine and cocktails but the main focus is beer. They've teamed up with Lobster Rolls & More whose lobster roll is simple and delicious. But my husband and I come here for the ambiance and service. The bar top itself is beautiful, the bar seats have backs to them, so you can really sit there for a while chatting and drinking. The staff is excellent--immediately gets water for you and helpful with any questions you might have about their drinks. Tish and Mark are the bartenders we see the most often and they make us feel so welcome--we live in Fishtown and it's hard not to come here every time we're out and about just to see their familiar faces and drink excellent beer. I definitely recommend as a place to have a few stellar-quality beers and to take some home with you as well. They have a great variety of their own (Tired Hands) beers on tap and in cans for take out. I've been a fan of Tired Hands' beer for years, because it's world class good stuff. I'm now becoming a fan of this location, because the staff is great. Tish has been my bartender on my last two visits. It had been a couple of months since my previous visit, but she not only remembered me, she also remembered details about our conversation and used that amazing memory to strike up an easy conversation and ask how things were going with the project I'd told her about the last time. During my visit I saw that Tish had cultivated pleasant relationships with a lot of the regular clientele. She makes everyone feel welcome without pushing or seeming to try too hard at it. As with Tired Hands' other locations, they have their signature groovy art on the walls. I don't know the name of the artist, but the work appears to be by the same person that does their can art, which is original and fun. That adds to the ambiance. Their very limited food menu is meant for snacks rather than meals, which is ok by me. I had the frankfurter on my previous visit, and it was worth getting again. But it's worth noting that this location does not purport to be a restaurant. I guess it seems like I'm getting to the beer as an afterthought, but I meant it when I said their beer is world class. Holy mackerel, their New England IPAs are amazing! That's a tough style to make. Most of the "hazy" IPAs --and even most of those that have the guts to actually state clearly that they're going for the NEIPA style-- don't even come close to what Tired Hands has accomplished. I was really happy I had made a reservation on Resy prior to arriving because the wait was almost 2 hours on a Wednesday evening! The space is pretty tight but the ambience is great. The service was amazing! Our waiter gave us great recommendations. We already had our dinner plates within 20 minutes of sitting down - I was impressed! They definitely did not operate like a place that just opened one week ago. As for the food, I really enjoyed the eggplant in fragrant sauce and Kung poo cauliflower fried rice. I wasn't a huge fan of the mapo tofu noodles although my fiancé enjoyed them. The dinner food overall was a little too salty for me. I highly recommend the fortune cookie shatter ice cream for dessert! I strongly recommend arriving right when it opens or prepare to wait for an hour or longer. We had 4 people in our group and our wait was 90 minutes. We have the hostess our name and received a text when the table was ready. The text says they only hold the table for 10 minutes, but we clarified with the hostess before we left and it's not a strict time limit. Also, the hostess was super inviting and pleasant (5 stars). The drinks are good. We predominantly had cocktails and beer and they lived up to the descriptions. If you like a boozy cocktail, the magic pig detective is for you. If you prefer lighter and more herbaceous flavoring, I suggest the deadly petals. The staff here is highly efficient, accommodating, and friendly. Water glasses were always full and drinks and food came out quickly. Whenever we wanted to place an order, it didn't take long for our server to appear. Food was predominantly Asian with a mild to heavy spice influence. They had a lamb special the evening we went that had a dry heat to it. The don don noodles were tasty but not super flavorful. The salt and pepper wings left something to be desired. I've ordered beer pick up from this location twice and both times has been a breeze. During COVID times it doesn't seem like they are serving food. This location is an outpost for Tired Hands Brewing company. Tired Hands is known for creating some delicious beers so to be able to pick them up without having to drive all the way out to Ardmore is a blessing. The online ordering process is easy and as long as you pick up before 8pm, they hold your beer. I was able to order a specialty beer around 12pm during my lunch break and then pick it up after work at around 5pm. Every beer I've had has been tasty but I do already have a good grasp on what beers I like. I'll definitely be ordering beer from here in the future and can't wait for COVID to be over so I can try their food offerings. read more

St. Oner's is a cute little taproom in the Tired Hands family. There's a great selection of beers on draft that they offer in full or half pours, as well as cans to purchase if you're so inclined. For sour lovers, I'd recommend the ourison, a very tart and crisp saison. The bartenders are friendly and good with recommendations. If this was just based on main dishes, I would have given it 2 stars. BUT they clearly have good tired hands beer, the ice cream is actually quite good, and the wait staff is friendly and attentive. Busy on a Tuesday night, so probably worth a res on any evening. Tight space, gets loud at times. As for the food: -Dan Dan noodles which claim chicken liver, but can't find that flavor. They're ok, but if you've had Han dynasty, these will be sub par. -salt and pepper wings are not crisp, a bit fatty, and slightly greasy. The flavor is fine, but simple and mostly helped by thinly sliced peppers on top -shrimp toast was maybe the most interesting dish, but a bit greasy and covered in sesame seeds to the point where I'm reminded of a Big Mac. -white chocolate ice cream with orange saison slushee and fortune cookie shards... every part is a winner in my book, eaten together or separate. read more

Great addition to north Frankford Ave in Fishtown. Tight, vibrant tap list, wonderful Asian forward cuisine, with a minimalist yet pithy decor. The bartenders and service are astute and personable. The space can become body stacked which would lead an inexperienced staff to seem as though they are clumsily affixed to one another, but each member appeared to navigate the space around them with an air of effortlessness and grace. Management is roving, visibly active and on top of the voluminous rush. From my experience, and as I spoke of, it is currently quite busy, being that it is as glistening as it is new; but in honesty, that is where I feel most comfortable - in the grips of a carnival more so than a thicket or throng - laying my elbows upon the milky, marble bar top with the collective voices around me, hive like & rolling into something resembling the dull glow of some foregone lullaby and the gewgaw of the world, hey, maybe it'll just drip away or maybe it won't. Who knows or cares, right? I'm not looking to pry open the top to a canister of love or redo the plumbing to the fountains of my heart here. Come if you are a fan of the beer, stay for a few bites, but right now the set up is not optimal for proper dinner. Table seating is limited, most of the space is bar seating, and it can get pretty loud - like a bar. The menu is interesting fusion and priced at $10 - $20+. Dinner plus some beers will easily cost $50+ pp. Many dishes are heavy on the sauces and salt and it can be overwhelming combined with drinking Tired Hand's beers. At the price point and the menu offering, it's better to order something that interests you as you enjoy your beverages. read more
