I had no idea of how this campus was laid out so I just started walking until I did stumble upon a map of the campus. It was hard to follow as it had the buildings all labeled on the map, but there was no coordination when that correlated to the map key. I just wanted to walk around and take some pictures as it was a nice day and some of the buildings are beautiful. I walked from one end of the pedestrian walkway to the other, back towards where my hotel was. A little about Syracuse University. Established in 1870 as a private research university. Interesting fact, it started as a seminary outside of Rochester. After some financial difficulties they decided to move to Syracuse because that would give them a better chance at surviving. Other interesting things, it was found as coeducational and racially integrated. First university in the country to offer a Bachelor of Fine Arts.

I remember when we visited the school the teachers asked what we wanted to the school to do for our child! The curriculum is unique and developed for the child and the child's needs. There is no cookie-cutter approach to learning at the New School! The teacher's teach in a true hands on way. If you're looking for an alternative to public school and the "no child left behind' approach. Check out this school. Give your child the sort of educational start that will keep them growing and going throughout their lives.

The owner's dog is allowed to roam free in the kitchen near food which is a contaminant, and combined with the lack of formal sanitary procedures can easily lead to a food-borne illness outbreak which can range in seriousness from mild to fatal. Students prepare meals and take them home in containers to feed themselves and their families, yet they told me they don't need to worry about Dept of Health requirements because they do not 'sell food.' I would not allow my child or myself to risk my health by eating any food prepared in their kitchen. There is a ServSafe certification posted on the wall, but I witnessed none of the requirements being adhered to and yes- I am qualified to access. It's just a piece of worthless paper if you don't follow the protocol! Any entity that provides funding, donations, or the like to Eye Arts Studio, LLC - and any parent that unknowingly sends their child to a cooking class at this mosh pit of bacteria should take note and investigate accordingly. They are either unprepared or unwilling to undertake the necessary sanitary standards required to provide food in any way to the public. As a side note- the owner exhibited a flash temper several times in my presence complete with yelling and the use of profanity towards staff which is appalling, demoralizing, and completely unacceptable in the workplace. I hoped this behavior was a one-time occurrence, but sadly, it was not.

Yes, things have changed over the years with the owners changing but the instructors and classes have remained the same. Cindy has been nothing but helpful every time I call or email her with a question or issue. I had no problem finding out what courses I took there and was also able to get a copy of a certificate I needed to send into the state. There is a fee for obtaining the copy but that is normal business practice. A college isn't going to send you your transcripts or a copy of your diploma free of charge so why would anyone expect this to be different. The courses are offered in a sequential order and sadly if those courses don't have the required minimum number of students they can be cancelled. Bob was gracious enough to let me sit in on a class I had already taken as a refresher to me taking the State exam. I look forward to taking more continuing education classes there in the future.

I was in need of phone AFTER test. " keep my phone with YOU, please." Well, he argued I couldn't bring it in. Obviously. You keep it, because I need it AFTER exam & have no place to put it now. So, I had to throw my cellphone behind the building for when I got out of the exam. Both times, he talked to me like I was a criminal, not a normal person. He was accusing me of cheating- with no evidence. Just trying to have my phone in HIS DESK. IN A SEPERATE ROOM. I now am buying 2nd computer for test. Unfortunately failed again now with 83. I am not going there ever again. I am buying a 800GB Ram computer just in spite of this HORRIBLE experience.

They give a set of lessons that every teacher must teach, like teaching out of a box, and not what parents are signing up for. Every student is getting the same lessons regardless of their needs. We're not allowed to talk to parents about their children outside of the classroom for fear we'll agree to help the student, explain progress or lack there of, and any advice or what we're actually doing with the mandatory lessons. I would search for a private teacher on Criag's List or other platform.
