    Furniture is $110- $150 range

I pop by this thrift store occasionally to see the sale items. They often have vintage clothes, but they are priced quite high-- ex:$20/dress when there are similar options at chain thrift stores in the $10 range. Their housewares are well-priced, but depending on the time of year you go, the shelves can be a bit barren. I think most people enjoy looking at the larger furniture, sports equipment, etc that they have in their back yard. Good deals can be found there! The inside large items (furniture) aren't necessarily cheap-- often priced over $100. They have some pretty cool stuff behind their counter and under some glass displays, but it's hard to look closely when it's behind the counter and I'm often hesitant to ask them to show me things I'm only causally considering. So as it goes, many of those items probably go untouched. It would be a good idea to move some of those more exciting items within better view of customers. Having to ask to see things is probably detracting a lot of sales. Ex: There were some vintage 1950s hats under a glass I was pretty interested in, but I didn't want to have to bother the staff to bring them all out from under the counter to look at-- I like to be at my leisure when shopping. There's too much pressure if I have to ask for each one to be brought out and then have the staff waiting in front of me while I look. ‍

On our last trip to Tucson we visited this store, which STINKS like a sewer. Any items that are of decent quality are vastly overpriced.

The other outside area is cluttered and I only visit when I'm looking for something specific.

Marvelous Vintage has been on my list for a while, and I'm glad I finally popped in--especially…read moresince it's located in one of my favorite plazas near Casa Video, which already sets a nostalgic, retro tone. The shop itself is thoughtfully curated and eclectic. You'll find a little bit of everything here: Harley pieces, Betty Boop, Southwestern and cowboy vibes, old-school denim, Dickies, and truly vintage jeans that feel intentionally sourced rather than randomly racks upon racks. From a visual and curation standpoint, it's clear there's an eye behind what's being selected. That said, this is not a casual thrifting stop. This is a higher-end vintage boutique, and the pricing reflects that. Jackets easily reach the several-hundred-dollar range, and many pieces are priced accordingly for collectors or shoppers specifically seeking premium vintage. As someone who shops vintage often and is used to finding great pieces across a wide range of price points, I personally found the prices higher than what I was prepared to spend on this visit, which ultimately meant I didn't walk out with anything. The owner was polite, and the experience itself wasn't unpleasant, but this shop definitely caters to a specific buyer. If you're walking in, expect to spend real money--this isn't a $20-$50 browse-and-buy kind of place. Overall, Marvelous Vintage is well curated and unique, just not aligned with my personal shopping style or budget this time around. If you're looking for rare pieces and are comfortable investing in high-end vintage, this may be right up your alley. For more casual thrifters, it's helpful to know what you're walking into.

Had we had more time, we could have spent hours walking up and down the street checking out all the little shops. The Tucson Thrift Shop actually connects with a pass through with another store called, The Other Side. I don't know if they're two separate shops or one big one, but they sold the same type of vintage clothes, costume jewelry, and costumes perfect for any occasion. The staff were friendly, but stayed behind the counter and offered a nice smile and said hello when you entered the store and have a nice day when you left. They certainly dressed as if they shopped at their own store and had enough tie dyed shirts to make any deadhead happy. If you're in town, it's definitely worth a peek inside. I bought a hamburger hat for my burger club and my son would have bought a couple items if his "square" parents weren't there to make him feel "lame.
