This is my sixth grader's first year at Stacey, and her experience has been excellent. She has been both challenged and supported academically, and she goes to school each day feeling motivated, engaged, and excited to learn. She loves her teachers and electives, has shown enthusiasm for joining clubs and programs, and has already formed new friendships despite knowing only a few students at the start of the year. The teachers, staff, and administration have all been consistently involved, responsive, and clearly committed to creating the best possible environment for their students. Their proactive communication and transparency in discussing how we can work together to support my daughter's success have been outstanding. I also appreciate how well her classes and teachers are preparing her for the transition to high school and, ultimately, college. Overall, Stacey has exceeded our expectations, and we are truly grateful for the dedication and care shown by everyone on campus. read more

Well I'm about to rant about stuff from ~10-15 years ago so hopefully these people got their heads straight by now. But this school literally sets high functioning autistic kids up for failure. If you're doing "too well" in a class, they'll just suddenly move you up to a harder class when they're in the middle of a unit, and you'll be completely thrown off by the sudden change, that you'll never be able to recover, and you'll never catch up. For the 2011-2012 school year, they took me out of Olmsheid's math class because I was getting a B+ and that class was a struggle enough.... then they moved me to Mrs Gates's class and I ended up struggling HARD ! Barely passed with a D... They were literally telling me and a few other kids that we were being moved because we were "doing too good" in Olmsheid's class, and even when I tried to explain that I was doing my best and only getting a B, imagine how I'd struggle in a harder class... But hey, nobody listens to children and just dismisses them when they try to explain their needs. read more

My oldest attended SMS the past three years and the experience was excellent. My youngest will be going there next year and is very excited. Dr. Nichols and the entire staff are dedicated to the students and families! They deliver exceptional academics and offer fun and exciting extracurricular options. The campus is clean, safe and welcoming and the overall atmosphere encourages respect, curiosity and personal growth. Their PTSA plays a strong, hands-on role and is highly engaged and actively supports the students and school community. I highly recommend this school. read more

I've had two students go through SMS, and we've had such a great experience. The current leadership is amazing and truly attentive. My oldest son had a bit of a rough patch during his 8th-grade year, and when I reached out to the principal, he immediately called me to talk and made time to meet with my husband and me in person. It meant a lot to know he cared enough to listen and help. The teachers were also wonderful and did a great job preparing my son for high school. My current 8th grader plays football and has joined several clubs. He absolutely loves it, and we've been so happy with his experience. Both of my boys started at SMS after attending private school, and we were a little nervous about the change. But honestly, they've been challenged more here than they ever were in their previous private school. We're really grateful to be part of this school community. read more

My kids go here. This is the worst principal, Dr. Rick Nichols, they have ever had. Parents are kept out of the loop from what's happening in school. Unlike his predecessors, he rarely sends out updates with school events. We have to ask around or go look for it ourselves. He's not engaged at all with parents and very unfriendly. read more

Stacey Middle School is full of school spirit and it has some newer pretty buildings. I decided to send my daughter here in 6th grade even though she had the option to attend Eastwood Elementary. This age group can become rather restless, and it's good to have access to a variety of teachers and activities. My son attended computer science in 7th and 8th grade. The current leadership is very capable and communicative. We switched her classes around after the first 3 weeks with the principal to better suit her elective preference. As a parent it's helpful to sign up for daily notifications about their grades to support getting straight A's! My daughter loved the 3 dances as a six grader, the basketball games and the pep rallies!! My son loved the E-sports club and the track team. He still visits his teachers to say hi occasionally. I wouldn't recommend going to this school at all. I attended this middle school years ago before I moved out of state and now I'm in high school. But am I glad that I did it? Yes, thank god I did. And my past experience with this middle school? Horrible. Teachers rarely did anything about bullying, or actual harrassments on students. Also I had one of the teachers which was super toxic and rude to me and students. Not to mention very loud. I could've switched classes, yes but I was that anxious and scared that I didn't really do anything. You can't really blame someone who was very young. And don't get me started on bullying. I used to be hated by an entire class for absolutely no reason. I remember one of my classmates threatened to assult me (like slapping me in the face). I immeditely told the teacher about the situation, and what did that do? Nothing. That student didn't get in trouble at all. Stacey Middle School lacked safety and priority of their students like myself. I was a victim of harsh bullying, and those teachers did nothing about it to defend me. I am so glad we moved out of state, otherwise I would not be in a good mental health state. Stacey Middle School was the worst middle school I ever went in my whole life and I stand by that point. read more

This school sucks. I like the food, environment, people (only the students), and the activities you give us. But the education is not it. Honestly I haven't learned barley anything and I'm so stressed right now. Like we literally have conference week on the second week of trimester three. Like give us a break... And you know our grades are extremely terrible right now because of the assignments that are worth like 10 or 5 points but then get 20.00 percent off our grade. Like how does my grade go to a A+ to a F. My teacher, Ms science teacher "you'll be fine it will go back up " yea it will go back up but what do you think my parents will say about this? And on top of that you give us a conference week. I'm cooked and so stressed. Do you want be to get introuble by my parents or what? Could've wait it out. Seriously, this school is nice, but fix the timing a bit. And listen to your students for once. read more

The cafeteria at this school is terrible or should I say the lunch menu. My child won't eat anything off the menu, she rather take lunch as she tells me the food is not good. I was pretty grossed out to see that the Cafeteria at Stacey Middle School was closed on Oct 12 for a rodent infestation noted in the OC register read more

Overall stacey is a pretty good school. I am a student at stacey currently (2021-2022) and my experience has been great. Most of The kids here are all pretty nice and welcoming. Only a few groups of kids are annoying but not in a mean way. About half of the teachers are super nice and barely give homework while the other half are strict and give plenty of homework. The school is kind of old and most of the P.E stuff is breaking or really old. The school also has lost of fun events like dances, festivals, sports, etc. Overall stacey middle school is a great school to go and I'm happy I did not go to warner or Johnson. read more

The teachers at Stacey are good. However I have had two children who have been seriously bullied at this school and the principal is apathetic. Nothing is done about it despite 'zero tolerance' policy. Neither child went back for 8th grade. It's a toxic environment read more

My granddaughter attended 8th grade at Stacey. We absolutely love Stacey and so does our granddaughter! She was failing at Warner Middle School and having terrible problems with other students, which was not being addressed by administration at all. She hated school and often times refused to go. Stacey was a life saver. The principal, vice principal and several of the teachers went above and beyond to make sure that my granddaughter succeeded. She was excited to go to school in the morning, and we watched her GPA her increase dramatically, and she was accepted into OCSA. We have no doubt that her success is a direct result of the staff involvement at Stacey Intermediate School, we are forever grateful to them and wish she could have attended Clegg/Stacey from the beginning. read more

My daughter always gets in trouble here. At first, I thought she was a bad student but after awhile I realized that the teachers were biased. My daughter gets accused of things she didn't even do and she hates it here. There is one teacher in particular who is very rude and is making her experience very horrible. Also, her friends don't like it here either and since they have the same teacher that is biased. My daughter is falsely accused of things she didn't even do. read more

The staff is very unprofessional. Do not trust the promises they make to make students feel safe! Especially the office staff, they share information about troubling students which is very invasive to the privacy of all students scenarios or events. Staff needs to do their jobs and let the principal or vice principal compromise uprising conflicts. What I find quite appalling is that the staff TALKS. So for anything big that happens news spreads to ALL the teachers would know and office workers. Based on the severity of the subject I understand if it's to aware teachers but when they email or talk. NAMES of students are mentioned. Every single time I went to the office or nurse I would hear the office workers talk about some of the conflicts naming students who are involved. The school does not gain Anything from this and they bring NOTHING but a bad reputation for the school. Also this affects the students reputations with teachers. Especially the way teachers look at students will never be the same once they hear what they did. THIS makes it diffult for for the student to "learn from their mistakes and move forward" when the students reputation will take years to build up. You can't just say move forward and drop the whole case. That's not how life works 2nd chances TAKES redemption. I find it dreadful going to this school everyday. The only thing that motivates me to go to this hell-like school is to ACTUALLY LEARN AND PREPARE FOR HIGHSCHOOL. PLEASE IM JUST TRYING TO LEARN BUT THE STAFF KEEPS INVOLVING ME INTO TROUBLE. 7 th grade year teachers really are helpful and responsive to emails and requests and are flexible with their schedule. However for 8th grade, definitely students either flourish or go down hill with their self esteem resembling. Basically at one point everyday people were crying their asses off cause this school did nothing to make students feel about themselves. AND WHENEVER a motivational speech was given it made students feel worse and hopeless. TO conclude if your kid definitely up to compete and has strong self motivation go to this school. If not go to others schools. Warner and Johnson aren't any better either. read more

If you're looking to send your child to literal hell, well, you've come to the right place! Not only has this school destroyed reputations, it also has a very negative attitude towards everything. Almost every single day the teachers have not failed to make my child seem depressed and frustrated going to school. Though the school has a number of great staff members, I must shine light on the office. The school's office is a literal gossip group. The fact that they gossip about another student's private info like their reputation is something light to throw around is absolutely disgusting to me. It is truly just beyond me how they say to the student that they have to move forward from the issue and not look back, yet they tell the WHOLE staff about the student's personal problems. If that doesn't make you cringe, then you won't believe this--they even go so far to mention the child's NAME when informing the whole staff. None of this is acceptable in any shape or form, and it will never. be. read more
