Dr Stachler is experienced and explained a lot, which was good. He was pretty aggressive about pushing his agenda and recommendations. We did not expect to be "scoped" but it was taken as a matter of course. Also getting ear wax removal was quite painful. We did follow through with other testing he recommended, and that also was not the best experience. Our internist told us not to take the drug he prescribed. He did, finally, get us into speech therapy, which is what we had asked for all along. Not clear if this is how all ENT's behave, or what. No harm done, and eventually got the prescription for therapy that we needed, but... weird experience. Also, he said he would send us more information and did not, we only got it when we asked for it at a follow up appointment. He was interesting, but not sure if I would recommend. My experience with Dr. Stachler has been transformative. I'd had a chronic cough for over four months that kept me exhausted and sleep deprived. I went through four respected doctors - my primary care physician, two pulmonologists, and an ENT/Otolaryngologist . I was prescribed multiple sprays and inhalers with no improvement. Prednisone helped but was not advised for long-term use. I then had both a bronchoscopy and endoscopy, both of which were negative. My ENT doctor referred me to Dr. Stachler, also an ENT/Otolaryngologist, whom he described as an expert diagnostician who had successfully treated people with chronic coughs that no one else could figure out. Dr. Stachler immediately put my mind at rest by checking for problems that wouldn't have been detected by a routine ENT exam or bronchoscopy or endoscopy. It's still hard to believe that I'm not coughing but, within 2 days of giving me injections in the laryngeal nerves (wasn't painful), my coughing stopped. It's now been nearly two months, and the cough has not returned. Dr. Stachler is still determined to find the root cause of the cough and has referred me to an ENT/Laryngologist at a UofM Cough Clinic. However, Dr. Stachler reassured me that I am still his patient. But he has a healthy enough ego that he isn't afraid of getting a second opinion. He has personally communicated with the cough specialist at UofM and has sent detailed records so that the doctor won't be starting from square one. I haven't seen the UofM doctor yet, but I am happy that I am still in Dr. Stachler's care and that he will be working with the UofM doctor on my behalf. I can't say enough good things about Dr. Stachler. And his staff is amazing too - always cheerful, helpful, and compassionate. read more

I have been going to Dr. Stachler for the past 6 months. He is one of the best doctors that I have seen. He listened to my problems and provided solutions. An ENT from a local prestigious university system told me she couldn't see that anything was wrong. Dr. Stachler could see the problem and fixed it on my first visit.
