A BIG thank you to JP our wonderful server for making us feel welcome, helping us with choosing and explaining items on the menu, his kindness was much appreciated. Steaks were perfectly prepared, highly recommend the onion rings and the sautéed mushrooms were out of this world amazing. Atmosphere was great and the music was fun and upbeat. If you're in Idaho, this place is an absolute MUST. #TreasureValleyIdaho #adacounty #outoftowners

I only wish we would have come here a long time ago, but we now have a favorite place. We are so happy that it was bought by people who truly care about the history of this place and the customers, as they have kept it in its original form and haven't changed the menu. It is rare to find people willing to buy a place likes this in order to keep it going. I hope they continue on as it is now and don't change a thing. The ambiance was quiet, and I would describe the decor as elegant Dutton Ranch style The staff were all friendly and the food was amazing! I had the prime rib (finally, a chef that knows what "rare" means and it was absolutley delicious. My husband had the Ribeye steak and it too was impressive and one of the best he's ever had. The sauted mushrooms were terrific and you "HAVE" to have the salad with their homemade Rouqefert dreassing. I haven't seen Rouqefert dressing in years and it is absolutely the best (of course this is the only place we've found that offers it). The drinks were good and especially the Prickly Pear Lemon Drop....so yummy! Even though the food was great, what truly made it a "dining experience" like we've only received a few other times (and we eat out a lot), was Jessica, our waitress. She was so nice and really on top of her game. She was not only attendtive but really paid attention to the smallest of details, e.g., when I dropped my napkin, she was right there with a new one. She is what all wait staff should be, and I think she could a school and train others. We have only had an "EXCELLENT" server a few times in our lives (and we're old), but she is one of the best we have ever had. Thank you Jessica for making our dinner a true memorable dining experience. This, on top of the excellent food quality, is why we will definitely be back.

My wife and I were hungry for a grilled steak. We were staying downtown and walked to the Brickyard. It's a nicely designed restaurant. We sat in a comfortable booth. Julie was our server. She was professional and very friendly. My wife ordered a petit filet. I ordered a New York Strip. The steaks come with complimentary soup or salad. The salad service is super creative. They were prepared table side on a cart with about a dozen ingredients and 4 different dressings to choose from. The salad chef was super friendly. It was a fun twist with having a fresh salad before your steak. Unfortunately my steak was served significantly underdone. The manager that was roaming the dining room noticed that there was something wrong at our table and came over. He instantly saw the issue and had the kitchen cook the steak to the medium rare temperature that I ordered. He apologized profusely and comped our cheesecake dessert and gave us two chocolate muffins. By his reaction, it sounded like they had a different chef cooking last night and this rarely happens. Regardless, I appreciated his quick response and efforts to make things right. The food was delicious. The service was friendly and professional. If you're in Boise and looking for a great steakhouse experience, check out The Brickyard.

This will hands down be our new go-to for any special occasion where we want to dress up and go out. Management even took an extra step to make sure my husband had the drink he wanted. It's probably one of the only times I've been to an expensive restaurant and didn't feel let down.

The staff did an amazing job, the food was fantastic and the venue could not be more beautiful. There is plenty of parking near the venue as well as hotel options for out of town guests. Awesome, via OpenTable, & easily confirmed both afternoon teas needed to be gluten free. The reception? Welcoming! We had option of stairs or elevator. SO appreciated that option! Was having lower pain day so took the stairs, & enjoyed every ounce of ambiance in the way upstairs! Table? Perfectly situated in a sunny window, quieter area- just as requested! Tablescape? Simple & high quality. Really nice touch to have well weighted silverware. Tea selection? A plethora, far beyond standard blah. And our gluten free tray of goodies, though a bit sparse looking in presentation, was all high quality & balanced flavors to perfection. And they were ever so kind to provide complimentary drinks... as they'd been running a tinge behind... so my guest & I enjoyed the most delightful mocktail w/huckleberry shrub... made fully from scratch in house. I will not be waiting 2 years between visits again. I have to say... by far far my fav afternoon tea experience in Treasure Valley (& yes I've done several others, several times ea, at establishments well known in area... left very disappointed every time. ***So having two excellent experiences at The Lively says a lot*** Elegance without pretense, charm without hype. Just my vibe! (That said, yes it's true our waiter didn't seem fully engaged in the experience, & yes it's true I only got one hot water refill (in the tiny tiny kettle) but I think we all know that's probably more about a bit short staffed which happens anywhere, to the best, & I do know they had big wedding reception at venue after our tea seating... & I had reserved the last seating time)

The views are stunning and the rooftop patio/outdoor dining space provides panoramic views of the mountains and surrounding city. Right now, it seems to function as almost a ghost kitchen? They have tables and do welcome dining in but it was empty while we were there (lunchtime on a Friday). From the way they're set up, it seemed like they were doing more takeout than dine in. I got a salmon caesar, which was absolutely delicious. The salmon was fresh as can be (the chef explained the fish had barely been delivered when he cut/grilled my filet--so super fresh!). The caesar salad dressing was perfectly creamy and the lettuce was crisp. I loved it. The service was friendly and the prices are incredibly reasonable. I would so love to see them invest in their dining space and rooftop patio to create a truly warm and welcoming space. The views are second to none in the city and would make a stunning backdrop to a truly inspired space.
