Beef bourguignon - most tender, flavorful and ginormous that I've ever had!
    Cindy H.

As first time visitor to Idaho, we were drawn to the Brickyard menu's dishes that prominently featured beef and Idaho potato prepared in so many different ways. On a long weekend Sunday, Brickyard was lively with packed happy diners, many celebrating their birthdays, and jazzy piano music. From tableside salad or soup, warm bread roll, sorbet pallet cleanser to main with potato side and of course dessert, the menu and portion was designed to make sure that no one goes home hungry. Our family of four ordered short ribs beef bourguignon and 3 different style of steak. Quality of the steak was decent for the price, but the execution was not at NYC steakhouse level as it lacks the flavorful juicy beef fat, charred crisp on the outside and the warm plate. I'm also not a fan of potato soup that has a grainy mashed potato consistency. But the big surprise was the how flavorful, juicy and falling apart the beef bourguignon was - this is a must order!

I had such a good experience here. From the moment we walked in, the servers were genuinely kind and attentive without being overbearing. You can tell they actually care about making sure you're having a good time. The ambiance was super fun and lively, but still comfortable enough to relax and enjoy your meal. It felt like the kind of place you could go for a date night or just a cute night out with friends. And the food? So good. Everything we ordered was flavorful, fresh, and clearly made with intention. No complaints at all. The live piano music really took it to another level. It added such a classy, cozy vibe and made the whole experience feel special instead of just another dinner out. Definitely coming back. Highly recommend if you want good food and a whole vibe, not just a meal.

Everything was so delicious, the meal includes fresh sourdough with butter, choice of soup or salad and choice of potato with your steak. 10/10 both the service and the food were superb.

Had a lovely first experience at the Brickyard! We enjoyed the fixed menu which offered a variety of entrees, salad, roll, potatoes, and veggies. We were able to upgrade the whipped potatoes to try a variety of other potatoes. Very nice ambiance and friendly staff. They definitely offer a relaxed dining experience without rushing you.

BEWARE!!! If you visit on a Friday or Saturday night after 5PM, be careful where you park. The street right outside the front door is an UBER LANE only. We learned this the hard way and read the signs as if we were able to park there after 5PM as did all the other cars parked there. Right after our food came out, we saw a bunch of tow truck lights outside. They were towing EVERY. SINGLE. CAR parked there. Not only was it a $158 fee to get our car unhooked off the tow truck, but also a $73 parking ticket. We told our server about this and hopefully the host can double check with patrons before seating them from now on. Otherwise, this was our second time here and it was great! Food is always tasty, service is top notch, the piano player really sets the vibe. We love it here and recommend it to a lot of people as it is also priced very fairly.

Nice steakhouse downtown Boise serving up delicious and decadent meals. When I looked at the menu ahead of time and saw Chateaubriand for two, I couldn't believe my eyes, all that food and for $85? My Californian heart was singing so obviously we had to order this. For the sides we got the potato cakes and potatoes au gratin, then one soup and one salad. Loved that the salad was made to order at a salad cart tableside. Salad was the winner for me, and soup the winner for my boyfriend, and the potato cakes, winners for everyone at the table. The mushrooms were also pretty fantastic, we ended up ordering an extra side of these because they were so good, rookie mistake though because we were so stuffed by the time they came we hardly made a dent. I was also able to try the short ribs, which were super tender and fall off the bone, as they should be. This was a huge portion and even with everyone at the table trying them, they were too much for the orderer to finish. Our group of 4 had a reservation for Saturday evening, the place was packed, so definitely recommend a reservation to secure your spot.

I go out a lot. And I mean a lot. This was by far the best meal I've had in a long time. My table started with the stuffed potatoe skins with steak appetizer and the Brie appetizer. They were spectacular. The potatoes appetizer could be a meal on its own. There's so much take three huge potato skins filled with cheese and onions and deliciousness. Highly recommend. The Brie appetizer was nice. Everything you would expect from melted Brie inside a filo dough. However after that I ordered the short ribs. Absolutely spectacular. Everybody at the table wanted my food. Which I did share a bite of with everybody. I was so full from the appetizers I had to take 3/4 of my dinner home and even after removing the bone I still felt like I was taking a pound of food home. The pallet cleansers was delightful an unexpected addition between appetizers and dinner. And the chocolate muffins as a parting gift was the French kiss of the evening. Now I haven't said anything about the service yet but they were very attentive and professional and I would definitely be coming back to this restaurant again.

Ask the Community - The Brickyard

    Is there a children's menu?

Not sure. It is a pretty up scale restaurant. Big portions!

What brand of coffee do you use in your French press?

All types of coffee. They'll even head to a local store to get their coffee

Can you wear jeans to The Brickyard for dinner?

Yes, jeans are totally acceptable. Brick is a casual place for dining and entertainment

Any recommendations for daytime (such as 1 pm) for parking near The Brickyard?

There is a parking lot at the southwest corner of 5th & main. I believe you can only go one way on 5th (at main) and the lot will be on the left where Addies used to be. The Brickyard is just a block away.…

We were in the back corner so it as really chill. Andrea served us today. Super super sweet and lovely! She got me some coffee started while some people were starting to trickle in. My cousin brought in flowers for a flower bar as a party favor. The restaurant was kind and had two small tables set up for us. The tables were great but very wobbly. I ended up bending down in my dress adjusting the feet on the tables. After everyone showed up, mimosas were made and cocktais delivered, we finally got some orders started. For brunch today I got the ribeye skillet with no potatoes. Not gonna lie, the wagyu meatballs sounded fabulous but with my white dress, I wasn't willing to risk dropping marinara sauce on it. Next time for sure! My eggs were cooked perfectly! The ribeye was tender. There was a lot of onions and peppers. Everything about this skillet was good! I do wish that there was a little more char to the ribeye. The coloring of it wasn't really pleasant. It looked like it was steamed vs cooked on a flat grill. It was really good but the coloring of the ribeye really threw me off. Andrea did a great job taking care of us today. We had such a fun time being together and celebrating my cousin's birthday. I adored the little sugar crystal stick that came with my coffee. It was such a delicate touch to make such a simple beverage so pretty. The vibe was great. Acero always delivers a great experience every time I come. Hopefully I'll be back sooner than later.

I love sitting by the fire pit but be careful it does actual get very hot. The happy hour deal and the bottle of wine with the cheeseboard deal for $30 are both incredible. Such a great location in the Grove plaza, so walkable. The service staff are so friendly, the bartenders are knowledgeable, and of course the wine list has great options! Acero is great for a girls night, date night, corporate dinner, or brunch spot!
