    Bulgogi Cheese Steak $16
    Tricia D.

If one hypothetically chooses fruit as a side for one's bulgogi cheesesteak to be healthy but continually steals the homemade chips off her kiddos' plates, does one get partial credit? Asking for a friend... Damn, those homemade chips are addictive! The bulgogi cheesesteak was savory, hearty, and comforting. I would easily order this again and highly recommend it. Love the clever sections of the menu too. Stacked = sandwiches. Folded = tacos. Forked = salads. Love this gem of a place! I want to come back to check out the cocktails.

This review is for delivery + had it happened in the restaurant could have been addressed. We ordered a 17.00 cheesesteak + an 18.00 beet salad. The sandwich was cut in half + wrapped in tinfoil. I ate 1/2 of it which was ok but, over salted. The beet salad was fine but, too many walnuts + very little cheese; Nothing remarkably good or bad. My complaint is that when I went to eat the remaining half sandwich, it was not much more than bread (BTW, the bread is great) w/a bit of pepper + residue of cheese. I'd try it in store but, never again, for delivery. I should have called for a credit but, some time just don't have the energy. Peace. See photo of expensive piece of bread

We came by for a quick lunch while out an about. When we walked in we were quickly seated by the hostess. She handed us our menus and went about her marry way and just seconds later our server swung by to ask if we would like anything to drink. As she got our drinks we had the opportunity to look and around and peruse the menu. The menu has various American classics with some fusion flairs. I decided to try the short rib banh mi, and it was delicious. The meat was super tender, and the pickled veggies added for the perfect bite each time. It came with a side, and I choose the tots, because how could I not. The tots were nothing out of the ordinary but they were still crispy and hot. All in all, we had a great experience. They had great music playing throughout the meal, and it seems like the regulars never mind coming back for another great meal. Looking forward to trying other items on the menu soon.

Today was my first time here and definitely won't be the last. The service was great, and the food was even better. The bulgogi cheesesteak was pure insanity and the fries were solid and well seasoned. The total for 2 sandwiches, 2 sides, and 2 iced teas was a very reasonable $43. Nicely decorated space too, plenty of space so you aren't eating on top of your neighbors.

Cute spot in Evanston, good service and good food. Highly recommend the salads. We had the Falafel salad and Baja Salad and they were so filling and delicious. Kids meals also had large portions. Parking lot nearby, some street parking, indoor and outdoor seating. Located outside the DT Evanston area. Fun board and card games inside. Good variety of beers, ales, and cocktails. Check out the pics! Our server Sarah was awesome.

Very casual brunch/lunch place with plenty of seatings both indoors and outdoors. Our server was friendly and provided water to us and the kid. Service was a bit slow tho. We ordered waffle chicken, burger, veggie burrito and guacamole with chips. My favorite was veggie burrito which came with lots of veggies yet had lots of flavors. Others dishes were standard. Also tried a rum based cocktail which was pretty refreshing. Staffs were all very friendly.

I've been 3 times now and have never had a bad meal. Last two times, you order either from a QR code or at the counter vs. a waiter coming to your table. They seem well-staffed (a miracle these days), and service of bringing food to table, etc. is great. Awesome food. Lively atmosphere with football on TVs (no sound) on fall game days. We came early tonight for chips & guac, drinks, then early dinner. Worked out fantastic. Found a booth (where I could simultaneously charge my phone) and relaxed for a while. Restaurant started to fill near 6 PM. Recommend if you want yummy food & fun atmosphere. It's also a bit off the beaten track, north of most of the other Evanston restaurants.

Decent dinner stop. We had the bulgogi cheese steak and the short rib bahn mi sandwiches. The cheesesteaks were juicy and flavorful and the bahn mi was good also. The sides of tots were crisp and not greasy. Food came out quickly and was still very hot. Special cocktail and beer list for Lollapalooza weekend was extensive and very reasonably priced. It was a perfect night to eat on the sidewalk - luckily got a spot in the shade as there is not a lot of tables with shade. Service was so-so/not very focused except for the quick food arrival; had to ask for a couple of things twice and never came back to ask how the dinner was.

Cool tables with warmers built in.

Heading east on Dempster to get to the Shakespeare Garden I passed by this place and was instantly curious. Stacked & Folded? The only thing that came to mind was that this was some new laundromat concept (truly, I did--and I'm not so sure I haven't stumbled onto something here, so don't steal my million dollar idea). So the name pulled me in, and I was scrolling down their menu. I saw the taco salad and immediately had a craving so I decided I'd pick one up for a late lunch. I placed my order online, but unfortunately didn't get the 10% off for a first order (they use an order platform that another restaurant I've ordered from does, so apparently it's only if you've never used the app? Unsure, there was no code), but that's ok. 15 minutes was quick enough so I went to the Coffee Lab across the alley to grab a drink. When I entered I was greeted by the host who pointed me in the direction of the pick-up counter. It was a bit disappointing to have 4 or 5 other staff members pass by me or stand in front of me at the counter without acknowledging me for a full 1-2 minutes (it doesn't sound long--time it, it is). A woman did finally ask if I'd been helped and I said I was there to pick up an order but since I was about 5 minutes early it may not be ready (that's why I wasn't quite as annoyed as I may otherwise have been about the wait). She went back to check and said it would be about 10 minutes so I could have a seat at the bar, so I did take the first seat there. Whilst I waited, there was a staff member who was bringing dirty glasses over and placing them not directly in front of me, but right next to me (had I been eating at the bar, it would have been in the area where my food and/or drink would have been). So that was a little... awkward, but ok. A man--manager, owner, one of the two I think--was doing some stuff at the register there for several minutes, talked with a woman who was there to pick up an order that had just been received, and then shortly thereafter he asked me what the name was for the order I had been waiting for. It had been sitting in their warming area for a few minutes probably, and he seemed to know that I was sitting there waiting for a to-go order since he asked me about it, so that was also a bit disappointing but oh well. He did apologize so he seemed to recognize too that it wasn't ideal. Luckily, it didn't affect the salad terribly. The meat looked a bit overcooked, and I know y'all don't know me but coming from me that is really saying something (maybe that was spices?...). I am a person who always overcooks chicken (not necessarily on purpose) because I'm afraid of salmonella and won't eat a burger if it's not well done. I was a bit worried because I live like 20 minutes away from here and needed to make a quick stop on the way, so I was afraid it wouldn't hold up, but it did exceedingly well; on that score there wasn't a problem at all. And I have to say--it was freaking delicious. I mean I would have it again in a heartbeat, except it seems insanely expensive at $17 +tax. But would I buy it again if I had a craving for a taco salad? Sure would. Parking, I'm not sure about. There seems to be some parking in the area between this and the building just west of here. S&F is right next to the Noyes stop on the Purple Line, so I'm not sure if that's an alley there or a parking lot (I think it must be parking like so many other similar places underneath the L tracks). There's some street parking along Dempster on the blocks around here, though. Piven Theatre Workshop (used to, at least) mounts plays at the Noyes Cultural Center, which is essentially kiddy-corner from the restaurant. So this would be a great place to have dinner before a show. They have a nice outdoor seating area and the tables area actually pretty awesome, as they have a heated space in the center in order to be used in cooler weather (they were in fact in use today when I visited; the flame is protected to some extent by a glass barrier), and I think that could make it comfortable--and maybe even romantic.

We were so pleasantly surprised by the food we had here, since we sort of stumbled upon this spot while in Evanston. I had this: BULGOGI CHEESE STEAK Tender marinated ribeye, caramelized onions, red and green peppers, topped with melted provolone, garlic aioli served on a baguette Woweeee this was SO good! Definitely not something I've seen on a menu before. I opted for a side salad with balsamic, which was also a good size and super fresh. If you like hot/spicy foods, try this: STACKED SHORT RIB BANH MI *spicy Sweet and tangy boneless short rib, topped with a daikon cilantro slaw served with spicy serrano pepper aioli served on a baguette We had that with tots. Everything was a huge hit with us! Looking forward to returning again soon.

Loving my new favorite Evanston spot! Stacked & Folded is an upscale food centric bar/ restaurant that is a bit off the main Northwestern University campus. They have a lot of outdoor space for large groups and their service is so quick and friendly! Amazing apps including ahi tuna on wonton chips, banging shrimp, and fried cheese curds! No need for entrees in my opinion as the appetizers should be repeated ! Save room for the dessert! Great for summer patio season!! #chicago #evanston

I love this place. The staff was friendly and our server Ryan was so attentive. He constantly checked on us to make sure we have everything during our meal. We tried the stacked burger, chicken caprese, tomato bisque, chicken waffle, and kid cheeseburger. Their stacked burger was delicious and the chicken caprese and chicken waffle were good but I would definitely come back for their burgers. Definitely coming back for more .

Avocado Salad which has pieces of fried avocado, and short rib salad.

My son and I tried this restaurant for lunch on a Sunday. I'm trying to eat healthy and their salad are delicious. My son got their avocado salad, and I got the short rib salad. The rib meat was shredded and tender. Nice flavors and cocktails for $10, which is reasonable now. I will definitely return when I am in the area.

At no time did anyone acknowledge someone was celebrating a birthday. My wife ordered the Salmon dish which comes with a bacon based sauce. She doesn't eat bacon and asked if they could use a different sauce. She was told No. So she had it plain, she said it was well cooked. The broccoli and potatoes on the other hand were overly salted, the potatoes were undercooked and cold, the broccoli was also cold. Normally my wife would have sent the food back, however, since she was with friends she didn't do so because she didn't want to ruin the mood of their celebration. Surprisingly, unlike most restaurants, the Evanston Corner Bistro doesn't celebrate birthdays, they don't even have a candle to put on a dessert. My wife decided she was going to celebrate with dessert anyway, so she ordered the NY Cheesecake with Strawberry sauce. It came out with something more like Strawberry Jam. My wife liked the idea of having the jam better than sauce. The problem was it turned out to be RASPBERRY jam NOT strawberry. Luckily my wife isn't ALLERGIC to Raspberries. She said the cheesecake was delicious. She did say it seemed to take forever for dessert to come out from the kitchen. Then there was a service charge added to the bill, but NO WHERE in the restaurant or on the menu is this mentioned. My wife also commented that there was only ONE server, and as more people arrived the service became slower. It seemed that the one server was just overwhelmed and didn't smile. That wasn't a huge deal to me, especially since the restaurant wasn't very busy and the overall vibe still felt promising. The real issue was the food. I ordered the wild mushroom scramble, which I've had and enjoyed at other locations, but this one came out visibly burnt. The eggs had those brown, overcooked bits throughout and tasted bitter, which is not exactly the brunch mood I was going for. The chicken sausage didn't help much either. To their credit, they did recook the meal to make it right, and I appreciated that. The staff was pleasant and handled it well. Still, it was disappointing to have burnt eggs come out in the first place, especially when the restaurant wasn't busy. Eggs should not be the plot twist. I really wanted this location to become a neighborhood favorite, but based on this visit, I'm not sure I'd come back.

We were both hungry after (her probably a little hungrier from a long day of matches) and i suggested we find something casual in the area. I'm always blown away by how far Evanston has come since my college days and wish we had 1/4 of the amazing restaurants they have now. My daughter was in the mood for tacos so we stopped in here. I quickly realized this was in the same spot of one of my favorite college spots, Lulu's, which had sadly burned out. I was beyond excited when they said they still offered Lulu's menu. I have fond memories of their ginger chicken salad. I ordered the lulu's bento box, which included my favorite salad. The ginger dressing and crunchy noodles on top were as amazing as i remembered. I immediately texted my college friends about what i was eating and we all agreed it was the best salad ever. It also came with sesame noodles, cucumber salad and dumplings. It was a lot of food and not the healthiest meal, but tasty! My daughter enjoyed her tacos as well...and both of us also liked the complimentary chips. Our waitress was lovely and attentive and indulged me as I told her over and over how excited i was to be eating my favorite college salad 20 years later. Next time I won't wait so long to come back!

Forced to wait in bar area which was high traffic and we were shuffled around. Not fond of our server's humor/attitude - felt a little uncomfortable. My medium rare steak was rare and I asked for it to be cooked me more. He kept asking are u sure in a condescending way, to which I replied yes, this is raw according to the high end steak houses I've been to. Yummy food though. Sucks hospitality is lacking here. Prob won't be back. Heard the bartenders are lovely people though.

Nice ambiance that's casual enough to feel comfortable bringing my kids, but upscale enough for the evening to feel like a nice night out. Loved the appies - we got the cauliflower hummus and deviled eggs - highly recommend both. As for entrees, chicken sandwich was perfectly fried crispy with not too much breading, on a biscuit. Fries were just ok. They were unfortunately out of the schnitzel I wanted to try so I had the halibut special instead. The fish was perfectly cooked, but the composition of the fish was rather confusing - the lobster bisque-like sauce was fantastic on its own, but overpowered the delicate halibut. The crispy yuca strips went perfectly with the fish, but the dish was finished off with lots of shishito peppers - again, way too overpowering. I would have preferred a much subtler vegetable. Kids Mac and cheese was fantastic, with a hint of what I think was thyme. The drink list was heavily spirit -forward. I ended up getting a sangria which was good, but my husband thought the old fashioned was terrible. The balance of spirit vs bitters was completely off, plus it was served over tiny ice instead of a large cube. To top it all off, the cherry was muddled.
