I came here with 5 other people and we ordered biscuits and gravy, French toast, and the pancakes. The pancakes definitely stole the show. Super fluffy and not too dense at all. We stopped by Stacy's on a Saturday morning and immediately knew we were in the right place. When you see a group of older gentlemen gathered around a few tables, it's a clear sign you're somewhere special. The atmosphere has that small-town charm that feels genuine from the moment you walk in. The service was outstanding. The staff was friendly, helpful, and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. They even let us sample the icing from their homemade cinnamon rolls so we could decide if it was cream cheese or not. (It's not, just regular icing for those who are curious.) As for the food: * The breakfast burrito was excellent. One of the best I've had. It was large, filling, and packed with flavor. The salsa on the side added a nice touch. * The biscuits and gravy were also a standout. The biscuits are homemade and some of the best I've ever had. * The pancakes were thick, fluffy, and clearly made from scratch. * The coffee was just okay. Not great, but not bad either. * My only suggestion would be to swap out the prepackaged syrup for something fresh. March 2024 Update: This was the place my husband always went with his racing buddies every single Sunday morning when he was in the Army stationed at Ft. Riley. This was 25-30 years ago. That tells you how long Stacy's has been around and what a staple it is in this community. It's a small-town, down-home feeling as soon as you walk in. It's not fancy, it's very basic with a focus on good customer service and yummy comfort food. And it delivers! I have a lot of allergies and the waitress took a lot of care to make sure the cooks knew how to prepare my eggs in order to avoid cross-contamination. My husband always gets his biscuits and gravy when he comes here and also corned beef hash. We came with friends (whom we call our family) and it was just another amazing experience at this place! Took a 2-1/2 hour motorcycle ride just to visit this holy grail cafe.... And we were not disappointed! Very prompt and friendly service. Typical diner menu but quality and quantity were above expectations. The server was incredibly friendly, once she knew we had seen the article in KANSAS magazine she went and got the owner and introduced her to us! Wow! Most patrons were locals so with all the choices, this locally owned place was packed, it tells you it is a revered local eatery. Your way above average middle of the country diner for sure. This is easily the worst cafe I have ever been to. Based on the reviews we were shocked at how bad it was. It was the second place we stopped over a couple days that served a pork tenderloin that was pre-breaded patty. The chicken fried steak was hand breaded but all the breading fell off and it had a burned taste to it. The hash browns were partially burned. The lady that seated us was nice but the waitress was mostly interested in talking to locals. Ultimately we paid over 30 dollars for food we mostly left on our plates. read more

This place was packed on a Sunday morning so I was excited to try it. It is seat yourself and we were lucky to get a booth near the front and a window-which was great as we were meeting my son and daughter-in-law. I ordered the quiche (fantastic!). My son got the chicken fried steak and my daughter-in-law got a pancake. The food and coffee were really great. It's nothing fancy but the food is well worth the visit. Went in and waited a 1/2 hour while waitress was loud and hand picking her guests. Two men came in after us and we were first on the list to be seated. She came and got them and seated them before us. She seemed rather belligerent. I asked the lady keeping the list how much longer the wait would be she just said she didn't know. We left-they couldn't care less. They have a sign at the register to seat yourself. If you're going to have a list-stick to it. There was no reserved sign on the table the two men got before us. There is much near Junction City, a small town near the geographical center of the Unites States, with a rich military past and right in between the Santa Fe and the Oregon Trail. Living in JC seems ok but without the entertainments of a medium city, there is not a magnificent children's museum or an aquarium, nothing significant to really visit, a downtown with closed shops like many kansas small towns, reminding us of better times. However, no far from JC few miles from Grand View Plaza, this is a place to visit. A truly modern American experience. Stacey's Restaurant offers a simple good breakfast menu, and lunch. You will not be disappointed by ordering the Hungry Man's Breakfast. The service is great and very polite, you will feel welcome among cowboy, trucker hats, old military pictures from Fort Riley, and John Deer paraphernalia. So disgusted with Stacy's. We went to grab a nice home-cooked breakfast and when our food came we were greeted by roaches. Crawling up and down the wall behind me, running across our table and on the floor. I had 2 bites of my breakfast before we realized they were infested. I brought it to the waitress' attention and she squished the one running on the table and asked if we would like a different seat. Came here for breakfast with my son and daughter in law. We waited to be seated for awhile. Once we sat down, the server seemed in a rush and frustrated. We waited about an hour, meanwhile two tables that sat down after us got their food and paid and we still hadn't received our food. When I asked a server what was going on with our order, she gave me excuses about how she can't get back in the kitchen, and they're taking reservations for "church people." I don't know what that has to do with our order. Then our server came by and said she let the owner know and she's frustrated as well. Then she said order was coming up. All in all it meant my expectations, when we walked in there was the cutest server very short dark hair who smiled a very welcoming smile and unfortunately we ended up with a server ( a lot of piercings in her ears) who was not very friendly and welcoming and never told us her name. My breakfast was wonderful and met expectations and the pancakes are just so very good. Wife said her scrambled eggs were very oily but the rest of the breakfast was very good. The parking lot is in bad shape and needs to be redone if for no other reason it appears a lot of the clientele is older so a huge liability. If yo you want to experience the real America this is the place to do it, American Flag in the dining area, tribute to the troops, farmers and those who love this country. Server She never said her name Ambiance Talk about diners drive in's and dives... this place fits. This quaint little place doesn't have a huge capacity, but the parking lot was jammed packed. Ironically, there doesn't seem to have that greasy smell that most greasy spoons have. Food I has the patty melt. And considering it was a patty melt it was extremely greasy. The fries that came with the order, tasted like they were battered. Not very good. The hot beef sandwich was very tender and cooked very well. The meat was dry but the ample supply of gravy helped compensate. It was served with a helping of instant potatoes all covered in brown gravy Overall The food was okay at best. Stacy's is an awesome hometown dinner- a JC treasure. The food, service, and atmosphere were retro to the Norman Rockwell era. It is a local breakfast gathering point: ranchers, military, hunters and travelers lucky enough to conveniently pull off I70. We knew we were at the right place when we saw the parking lot was full, but we were greeted and seated immediately. I had corn beef hash, eggs and hash browns- was excellent. The service was fast, friendly, and attentive. Our food arrived within minutes. If you are were traveling through Junction City, KS, by pass the chain breakfast spots and treat yourself to a delicious home cooked breakfast at Stacy's. Can't recommend it high enough!!! read more

Amazing pancakes! We came to town for a football game. We were the visitors and welcomed everywhere we went including by the Staff and several Patrons of Stacy's. Game day found us at Stacy's for breakfast. Brenda our server was fun, efficient and really got our day off to a great start with her sass. Party of 5, we ordered a variety of items and it was all good! The next day we visited again, when the food is good, its the best way to start that 12 hour drive home. She was very short, very rude and zero customer service skills. My party was going to walk out but we already took sips of our drinks so we just sucked it up and stayed. Being optimistic my party sincerely asked if everything was okay because we thought maybe something serious happened in her personal life and it was stressing her out... nope she is just a 'Karen' working as a waitress. Another part of my Kansas adventures. I like these type of places and tend to review them favorably. Small town diner, which seemed to have some mixed reviews. Walked in for some late breakfast and it was a bit busy. Staff didn't seem too polite or personable. Seemed more of a chain type atmosphere and attitude and not what you'd come to expect from a small town diner. Small menu, which usually I like. Ordered steak and eggs, was able to get fruit and cottage cheese as a free substitution. Steak wasn't very good quality and overcooked. Cottage cheese was kinda runny and canned peaches for my fruit. Really nothing special, and certainly nothing that tasted remotely homemade. Looked like they had pie, but I wasn't offered any. Overall, it was pretty dissapointing. Do not be fooled! The outside appearance of this gem is NOT an indication of what fantastic things are going on inside. Food: heartily served and delicious, you can have things cooked to your preference. There are three open self seating eating areas and can serve at the counter or in very large groups in the back. The service was absolutely spectacular, even the other patrons were friendly! The menu is simple but full with ample choices. They're open for breakfast and lunch. Biscuits were fluffy and drowned in gravy. 2 eggs was inaccurate. More like 4 eggs. The sausage was my favorite. Actual ground meat hand flattened. None of that bs frozen sausage patty you'll find other places provide. Coffee was good and flowing. Order came out to 10.80 with tax. Definitely recommend this place. Driving up to it you see this bright green neon sign. The front area has your classic diner look. I wasn't expecting to see the large back dining room. So the place is a bit deceiving at first glance. Bathrooms are tiny but clean and smell good. So instead of going to IHOP on exit 298, hit up Stacy's on 299. read more
