Great little local diner type of restaurant in the middle of nowhere. Food and service were great and reasonably priced. Can honestly say this is one of the first places I ordered scrambled eggs (steak eggs to be exact) and had to wait for the eggs to cool down a minute because I burned mouth. When you walk in this place, you're greeted by at least a dozen locals which is usually a good sign. We were in a bit of a rush so we scanned the menu on yelp and had our order figured out a head of time. There is two other rooms of seating besides the front and we sat in the middle. After taking our drink order and promptly coming back with them, we gave her the rest of the order and she disappeared around the corner and in about two mins someone else came back carrying it. We didn't order anything too elaborate just biscuits and gravy with hash browns. With 20 something people already in here that was pretty darn quick. Everything tasted fine. A classic small local dinner with all the great family cooking to go with it. Stayed in junction city for the night and when we looked for breakfast places this was the only non chain place that came up so we decided to try it. From outside it looked small and extremely busy luckily for us it was much bigger then we realised so we were able to eat unlike others that were turned away. I would suggest the cinnamon roll nice and sweet and biscuit and gravy were amazing with homemade bread. With a diner atmosphere and great service never ran out of coffee if ever back in town defiantly coming back. read more

I'm not sure why Stacy's is not on the Kansas Best 10 Places to Eat Breakfast list. Chain stores can't compete with my favorite hometown diner. The biscuits, gravy, omelets, hash browns, lunch burgers, the service, and the original diner motif are the best. We never waste a trip to Junction City or up I 70 without stopping. read more

I was here a couple of weeks ago on two separate occasions with my friend Jethro (a local) and had a fantastic breakfast both times. The first time I was there we had an incredible server named Tori (Victoria) who took fantastic care of us. I had steak and eggs and a half order of the biscuits and gravy. Everything was perfect. Two days later I insisted on going back there for breakfast and had the full order of biscuits and gravy. Once again, everything was fabulous. This is a lot of fun as a throw back sort of restaurant. It is Junction City away from the Base-locals. I loved the hashbrowns, which my husband hated. They were fluffy and not greasy. You are allowed to smoke in there, but the ventilation sucks. I walked in and was hit by the disgusting smell. Too bad because I was really looking forward to eating here. I liked this cute little diner. I can tell they have not updated much, which I like because it makes me feel like I'm traveling back in time. The service is basic. You come in receive a greeting and are told to sit anywhere. The drinks and food arrive quickly as with most diners. The food itself is quite tasty and definitely brings memories of Sunday morning breakfast as a kid. Picture the fluffiest of pancakes with eggs scrambled to perfection. Like other reviewers have noted, the hash browns were not greasy! I have to mention I ate everything on my plate and this diner was one of the few that didn't send me to the bathroom right away. Side note: for some reason diner food sends me to the bathroom immediately after eating. Do they cook with laxatives? Who knows? Might just be me though. I would have liked to give Stacy's more stars, but I didn't for the following reasons: 1. I asked the waitress if they could make chocolate chip pancakes, but they do not make chocolate chip pancakes! Call me spoiled, but every diner should have chocolate chips. 2. Limited hours. I am used to 24 hour diners. I also can eat breakfast food at any time during the day and know others who are the same. Being that the location is off a major highway, you would think it would be open at least a little longer. Yet, this is a mom and pop business, so I can give them too much of a hard time for that. I really liked Stacy's Restaurant. It reminded me of my hometown cafe growing up. No one was smoking during my visit, so they may have changed their policies; there were no ashtrays on the tables. I'm honestly not sure why this place has 4 stars, it may be because there is not very many good places to eat in that area. The price point was much higher than it should have been for the quality of food we were served. The steak seemed frozen then cooked quickly which made it watery and chewy. The hash browns were mushy and not at all seasoned. The scrambled eggs were also watery just all around bland and unsatisfactory. The only reason I gave this a 2 is because the servers are very attentive, nice and the coffee was good. This place has the potential to be a great diner I just feel they are lacking in many things as of now. read more
