Bad: The food served was not as good as in past under a different owner. Not even close. Salad and coffee were good. Served one flat bland roll with a dollop of sweet butter. No bread basket on table. The rolled chicken with a sweet bread and herb stuffing was terrible. It was over baked and dry. It was hard to cut, chew, and swallow. A small amount of gravy did not make a difference. Broccoli and sliced potatoes were okay, nothing special. Half of our table ate hardly any chicken. What a waste. The dessert was Strawberry Shortcake. The shortcake tasted salty. Service: Servers were pleasant, and we felt sorry for them only serving water and coffee after the salad service because it took the kitchen almost an hour to get the main dish "plated." We also appreciated Henrietta, Matt and their team's efforts to make sure the catered dinner was a success. The food was incredible. We loved having the option to pick from so many dishes, and all of them were fantastic. Having them handle everything allowed us to just focus on the wedding and enjoy spending time together. Maybe the thing we appreciated most of all was how quickly they dealt with any requests or (minor) issues that came up. The pacing excellent and the value was the best we have seen in any local caterer -- and we have done a number of events. Don't let the word tavern in their name dissuade you from checking out their options because they have an elegant, delicious and wide ranging catering menu.
