Order: Large pepperoni, sausage, and banana pepper pizza. After one pizza, I understood why. The ingredients tasted fresh from the first bite. The pepperoni had those crispy curled edges, the sausage added plenty of flavor, and the banana peppers brought just enough tang to keep the pizza from feeling too heavy. The sauce was another highlight. It wasn't overly sweet or overloaded with seasoning--it just tasted like a well-made pizza sauce. They used just enough to complement the toppings without making the slices messy. What really impressed me was the restraint. Nothing was overdone. Instead of piling on toppings for looks, everything worked together, making each bite as good as the last. This pizza was just plain not good! We went to the Pub location in Gahanna and took it to go last Sunday. The other location does not have dine in on Sundays. Anyway, I just didn't like it. This is definitely a hidden gem, even if many people would call it one of the top 5 pizza places in Central Ohio.... Its sort off the beat'n path. Well-- this place is amazing. Its a true pizza joint. A pizza joint with a huge focus on local music. So many local musicians signed headshots line the walls. The dining room isnt big. The vibe is really casual but the owner makes a true effort to not just say hi to the guests but to lightly socialize with them. It creates an even nicer vibe. Staff is very polite and pleasant and goes out of their way to make sure you are satisfied. Even the owner, Alex, will make his way around to check on you. Small intimate seating area is available where you can enjoy a nice selection of beers, watch the game in the TV, listen to the live music, or just enjoy the evening with friends. We recently grabbed a quick dinner here. Service was great, pizza was OK. It's a little kind of divey (that's a good thing, btw) pizza place over in Blacklick/Gahanna. They do Columbus style pizza, with a decent selection of toppings and some subs. Wine and beer, not listed in the menu, but on the sign board up by the bar. The guys got drafts and I had a glass of Riesling. There are a lot of fun signs/posters up on the walls. They advertise live music, but it's got to be tight in there on show nights! There were 3 of us, so we went with a large half cheese/half bacon and a side of the cheesey garlic bread. The bread was really yummy, comes with some marinara sauce and it was a really generous portion. The pizza was OK. It comes out HOT - lava-like cheese fresh from the firey portal of heck hot. This is the most acceptable way to serve pizza, so I was impressed. And, it stayed HOT, almost the entire time we were eating it! The crust was really crispy, but the sauce was off for me. New to the area and first time at Stadz.. Excellent experience! My veggie pizza (add pineapple!) was delicious. Thin well cooked crust and a nice balance of sauce, cheese and fresh ingredients. I had a glass of red wine (Cabaret Sauvignon) that even though served in a plastic glass, was really good and cost less than $5 (compared to the more common $10-$15/glass prices you see). My server was very attentive and pleasant throughout. I arrived later in a Saturday evening and there were various musicians playing live music, with a bit of folk vibe. It was very enjoyable/relaxing. At one point the owner came over and introduced himself asking if was my first time in, and welcoming me. A really nice touch! We visited for the first time tonight. Started with the house salad and their house-made italian dressing was excellent. The small was a whole meal on its own. We were looking for something different and low key after the holidays and came across Stadz. I can't believe we'be not heard more about this place. Great thin crust pizza served super hot, cold beer with multiple varieties on tap, fantastic live music that didn't stop conversations, and incredibly nice service. From owner Alex who introduced himself to the waitress and busboy, everyone was fantastically friendly. I loved seeing the signs from the old Shakey's pizzeria in Whitehall, and having Alex share his connection to them. And the band members circulated and were great to talk to too. This spot sits off the beaten path in the middle of Blacklick and has great pizza and great sandwiches! I've been eating here for lunch for years, and I've never had a bad experience. The staff is always super friendly, and even though it looks like a small take out spot, there's quite a few tables inside to dine in. I usually end up getting their Italian sub which uses Auddino's rolls and is baked to perfection. This is definitely a top Italian sub in town. If you like India Oak, then you'll really enjoy this one. The pizza is also fantastic as well, using the old world pepperoni cups. I don't know if it warrants driving all the way from the West side to try it, but if you're anywhere on the East side of Columbus, it would be worth going out of your way to give it a shot. Long have I been on the look out for any place that has the least whiff of Old Columbus--that divey feel of the blue collar mixed with counterculture cool that once dressed joints up and down high street, in campus alleys, fanning out to the 'burb, now endangered by the Johnny come lately fashion of the day. Not that the sleek creativity of today's trendy is at all hated by me, as my reviews will testify; sleek foodie cachet is a momentary culinary vacation. But places like this pizza joint off Taylor Road, Gahanna that has that Old Columbus feel is home. In a red house down the road it was once called Big Cheese. The main motif decor wise is music, lots of it. Pictures of bands, quotes from artist and lyrics, and music themed art dress the spot. They have live sounds here. Sans a proper stage a corner is dedicated to soloist and duets. I have caught in my few trips some decent talent. Folk rock, country, blue grass, and good old working class rock seem to be the genres of choice. When the live artists are on break, or when they are none, music comes from Roku on their lone TV. What plays is heartland, blue collar rock: Tom Petty, John Cougar Mellencamp, the Bruce. With a few booths and tables it is the perfect place to chill with some tunes on the weekend. They carry the usual gamut of pizzaria offerings: subs, apps, and salads. The beer selection rotates with a nice mix of IPA, domestics, imports, and crafts. Pizza here are excellent--for the mainstream pie: thin crust, square cut, toasted to a hot crumble. The sauce is a warm delicious base but lacks a bite. Topping are in generously proportions, covering their pie from edge to edge with fresh, well cooked, and tasty items. The cheese is also good. Both their Meat Lover and Lets Go All The Way pies hit the spot. Stadz is a choice stop daily for the local manufacturers and warm hands to chomp some goodies on lunch, or serve the air carrier crews and visitors staying at the hotels down the street near the airport. At night it is a cool hang to relax after a day of summer fun listening to music. The owner's Alex and Toni are super friendly, charismatic, and make you feel like the most important customer. Highlights: My favorite find of 2022! Stadz really blew it out of the park for me. It's a casual and friendly joint and you know it's good when most of the customers are locals. They have the crispiest and filling pizza I've ever had. The brews are also super cheap: $4?! Out of this world. Vibes: After a long work week, I walked into Stadz on a Saturday night with a few friends to try out their pizza. The room is lively and chatty. There's a musician playing and taking requests of good ol' classics. The restaurant walls are plastered of music artists' autographs, pictures and memorabilia. Having intimate conversations in this place is real difficult, you basically have to shout especially on nights when they have live music--but it's real fun. Service: I didn't catch our waitress' name but she was phenomenal. It was pretty cool that she got all of our orders correctly without having to write anything down. She also made good recommendations. Food: We got a few brews and ciders. Their cheesy garlic bread with marinara was so good! We got 3 small pizzas: Pepperoni, All the Way, and a Chicken Ranch cauliflower crust pizza. All of them were piping hot, delicious and crispy! Highly recommend asking for mild hot/Buffalo sauce to go with the chicken ranch pizza--this is how the East coast people (like myself) like their pizza :) This place is definitely going to be our recurring hangout place now. read more

I called to order at 5:30PM on a Friday evening expecting a long wait. The lady told me 10-15 minutes....what??? I'll take that, because we were starving. I show up, a nice man (I'm assuming was the owner) greeted me and apologized that it will be 10 minutes longer because they messed up one of my pizzas and redid it and just tossed it in the oven. Then he offered me a beer for my trouble. Heck yea, I was expecting to wait atleast a hour for pizza on a Friday, so what's 10 more minutes and a beer? One of my favorite pizza places. Alex the owner is the nicest guy - always makes you feel welcome whether you are a regular or a first timer. No matter how busy always has time to go from table to table. Not sure what he loves more - pizza or music. The place isn't fancy but musical themed decor that's really cool. Live music Fridays Saturdays and Monday evenings. Open mike Mondays. We were there this past Friday evening. D & D Acoustic we're performing- didn't stay long but very enjoyable. They do get crowded on music nights so get there early. They make take reservations on those nights. Oh yeah - the pizza. Definitely not a fan of cracker crust but the flavorful sauce and just the right amount of cheese makes this my go to. Also not a fan of tavern cut but they will cut pie cut. I didn't request this time since they ere so busy. This time my husband and I ordered a small - my half mushroom and his pepperoni which they are known for. I have to say that we were pleased with both the service and the food. Got a large 15" Pepperoni with Extra Cheese (sorry, we both had to grab a corner before the pic). The pepperoni was just the right spicy and the thin, cracker like crust was crisp and held up to the weight of the extra cheese. We did get Italian subs too. They were good, but were a little light on the dressing. I don't like a soggy mess of a sub, but these could've used a little more dressing. It's tough to give a pizza place five stars but here we are! I saw the double meat Italian sub on instagram and had to go and try it. Boy O Boy was it delicious! The bread was nicely toasted and the amount of meat was super impressive. The cheese was fresh and the Italian dressing was the perfect amount. The guy at the counter suggested getting the old world sub net time as it adds Capocollo to the mix - so I will definitely be going back. The pizza was also very good - I always just the first pie from a new pizza place by getting a simple cheese pizza. The cheese was fresh, no plastic taste, and the sauce was sweet with a bite. It was cooked to perfection on a thin cracker style crispy crust, and customer service was outstanding. Its a tad pricey in my opionion, but you do get what you pay for.
