I have been wanting to try George's for a long time and I finally did today. Outside of Tommy's on Lane Avenue and Ron's Pizza in Mount Vernon this is hands down the best pizza I have ever had. I think George's Pizza could most definitely improve on many topics! Their menu online is outdated my many years..the prices are not accurate. I find $19 for a large just cheese pizza is kinda expensive for a basic flavorless crust and sauce that tasted like microwaveable pizza. I literally could have made this pizza at home with basic ingredients. Nothing special at. I was pretty upset because Powell is pretty awesome with local pizza. You bet I will not be back. I truly would not waste your $ or time. There are many better places in the area. I got a salad that was $8..barely any toppings for your normal pizza place. I was able to eat it all by myself. Not a shareable size by any means. I also got some of their wings to try them out for $24. Sauce on the side. If you are going to be in the area..go to any other place. Good pizza but little pricy - 14" large $18.00, a medium 12" runs $16.25 but add pep and sausage brings it up to $18.25 for a medium. We've hit up George's a couple times on the way home from events in Worthington. Where George's does hand spun dough like a lot of your better spots, what really makes George's different is their revolving oven and the sauce. It is on both the sweeter and spicier end of the spectrum...preferred by me, but not so much by rest of family. I'd definitely do the 20min drive to crack out on it and a 6pk of Dortmunder, Elliot Ness, Fat Tire, or Dirty Bastard if home alone. read more

I could never say enough about this place. My grandmother always says, "pizza is pizza, it all always tastes the same after the first bite." I agree with that, mostly. There's plenty of pizza places in Columbus. Some have better first bites than others, but it's still just pizza. I don't mean to sound dramatic, but I don't keep coming back just for the pizza. It's how George's makes me feel. I started getting pizzas at George's when they had their old location on Olentangy. I lived right there at University Village and worked at the hotel next door. I got pizzas there because it was easy. Now George's is all the way up in Powell. It's about a 20-25 minute drive for me. I don't always get pizza from George's, sometimes I order a chain that delivers to my house and is easier. But it's not the same a George's. I can't really explain it. The pizza is good. But seeing the owner (I don't know if his name is really George), talking to him every time I go in, that's what makes you feel good. It's a small shop and it feels good supporting such a sweet business owner. And they usually add tootsie rolls to the box, added candy canes around Christmas time. If you really want to make your pizza even better, ask for some of that garlic salt. I just never knew I could feel so happy just from picking up a pizza. Thank you, George! read more

Just average. Toppings are scarce, garlic bread is like eating Morton's salt directly, and pizza tasted like something that's been sitting around for a while.
