The selection is great, and they're expanding. The customer service is beyond anything you see anywhere else today. I was just stunned at how good they were as soon as I walked through the door! I'll also add that they will cater to almost any kind of musician, at any age, for any purpose! You just don't see that anymore! I highly recommend making the drive if you're a tad outside the area. Keep in mind, it's a small business and, if they're busy, it might be a second or two until they get to you but, believe me, they know you're there and can't wait to actually talk to you! I stopped taking my guitars to others shops regionally, that where endorsed by nationally high level players for setup. Yea...they where good but... John's setup was always a step above. John has has been able to give me back semi-playable so-sos, to a silky smooth sweetheart that I have a hard time parting with, even it not top of the line. Now my grandsons and step-son have requested some of my guitars to learn on. I learned on poor quality stock setup. I wanted to quit until I felt instrument setup correctly...and then I was hooked. I want them to know what a good guitar setup feels like versus factory milktoast setup, so that they want to keep on playing and upgrading to their playing style/level. Wadsworth Music facilities that path with both the service and the inventory selection to upgrade when needed. They seem to have heavy support for the local high school band members as well, which I tend to hold dear. (Sry...bias from being HS band member in my days. Would love a high & tight rudimentary snare drum, or 3 valve B-flat marching baritone if I could still blow solo blues. Alas, those days gone. Low-energy guitars will have to suffice.)

Nearly every inch of floor has drums, amps, cabs, amps on top of cabs, cabs on top of OTHER cabs. I had only been in the store about ninety seconds when I overhear a guy nearly buying a Kay Speed Demon guitar. Now just having one to look at is pretty great, but this one was also for sale. You could, given a couple hundred, just walk out with that baby and be cutting a demo before dark. (They really respect the mongrel, here, by which I mean the instrument as well as the customer. Dan "Loving Ohio From a Distance" Auerbach used to wander around the shop hoping to get noticed... I mean "shopping." Yeah, shopping. He's one of those snobbishly anti-snobbery guitar guys, who fetishize the crappy guitars their blues gods played, while playing them through a quarter million dollars worth of effects and electronics.) But enough about success. Found a vintage Fender volume/tone pedal. Well, that just had to go home with me. Bought a couple other things. Time was, there was a great shop like this every ten blocks or so in every city in Uh Murh Cuh Now? "Bro! Just buy that on-line." Right. Buy a guitar, without playing it? Buy an amp, without hearing it? Good luck with that plan, Mr. Malmsteen. They do consignments, too, which is a great way to either upgrade or downgrade your studio, bandroom or man cavity. These guys deserve your business. They sure helped me, and I'll bet they will help you. While we were there, I overheard a drummer, tired from being ridiculed by other musicians, decide to change instruments. Guy goes up to the sales counter and says, "I'll take that red trumpet over there, and that accordion." After a second, the store clerk says ,"OK, you can have the fire extinguisher but the radiator stays."

I visited Woodsy's recently to rent a trumpet for my son. This will be his third year playing…read moretrumpet and we previously rented from a different company that's physically far away. This shop is much closer to home than our previous rental company and the instrument costs less per month to rent, even with the insurance coverage. The rental process was fast, we received a quality trumpet that was in excellent condition, and it also came with a nice case and a cleaning kit. The policy is rent-to-own, so if we decide to buy the trumpet later, we'll be able to do so at a lower price. Recommend for instrument rentals!

However, if you want to return an instrument, you will have to drive to Cuyahoga Falls. They also pick them up for repairs from the school. The quality of the trumpet that my son received was excellent. One time, we received a faulty valve and they replaced it with no problem. Being able to rent instruments is nice and they provide cases and cleaning supplies too. I had a very good experience renting from here for the last couple years.

I would not recommend Music & Arts based on my experience with their billing practices and customer…read moreservice. I took lessons every other week, but Music & Arts repeatedly charged me for four lessons at a time, causing unused prepaid lessons to accumulate. I contacted the store about this multiple times, and the manager acknowledged that their billing system did not work well for biweekly lessons and attempted to adjust my billing dates, but the issue continued. When my instructor announced she was leaving, I requested a refund for my eight unused lessons on April 24. I followed up again on May 1 and May 11 but was repeatedly told to wait until after my final lesson on May 15 because processing the refund sooner could cause issues with their system. Despite additional follow-up, my request was not actually submitted until June 5. Music & Arts then relied on a 90-day expiration policy to deny six of the eight lessons. The store manager who had been handling the billing issue told me that even he was unaware of this policy. More importantly, I had requested my refund weeks earlier, and it was Music & Arts that instructed me to wait before it was processed. I ultimately had to file a consumer complaint with the Ohio Attorney General's Office. Music & Arts has since refunded two lessons but continues to deny the remaining six. My experience with corporate customer service has been even worse. Representatives have been rude, dismissive, and disrespectful throughout my attempts to resolve this. I repeatedly raised the billing issue, requested my refund promptly, and followed the instructions their employees gave me. Based on how Music & Arts has handled this situation from beginning to end, I would not use this company again for any service and cannot recommend them.
